  2. Well, haven't been on here in a while, so some of you might not know who I am.. but you should recognize the car.. soo here she is.. And here is my fun stuff, mostly copied and pasted from other forums.. I was out ridin the bike, when some young guy in a C5 comes rollin up.. with his gf in the passenger seat, kinda laughs at me and floors it.. at that point I was in astonishment that he thought the vette would walk the bike, so I pulled up to him and asked him if it was fast.. He tells me, yeah its fast, so I asked him if he wanted to run a 31 year old Datsun.. just a datsun, he just says "yea" as if I was just kidding or something.. so he followed me up to my house and we ran em after droppin his woman off lol.. 30 Roll... 45 Roll, he forgot to hold it in gear.. I just toyed... lol 20 Roll Here is the SRT4... Got about 4-5 BLEEP good runs in.. our cars are pretty BLEEPITY BLEEP close as they sit, so it was a good time. 30 roll, Brian at the bottom of second, me at the bottom of second. 40 roll, Brian at the top of second, me bottom of third. 20 roll, Brian with some traction issues... 45 roll, I was in mid 3rd, not sure where Brian was... It was a pretty fun deal though, we knew our cars were close, and they were. We had another run where I tapped rev limiter in 3rd and we stayed dead even all the way to some high numbers, but didnt get that on tape. Enjoy

  6. Escalade engine. He states it has cadillac converters, its 4wd, and its obviously not an LS1.
  7. I got terrrrrrrible wheel hop while doing a burnout at the track.. My struts were blown and the stock springs were wayyy too soft. Try upgrading your suspension. I just went with the AZC coilover conversion.

  9. Yeah, I dont think any other shift would have done it, the launch probably wasn't turning it fast enough to put major strains on it, but the 1-2 shift with the stock suspension and blown right rear strut... it squats excessively. the 2-3 shift I doubt would make it squat near as hard.

  12. :mrgreen::mrgreen: Say goodbye to that 31 year old Right side axle U-joint!! Best was an 8.3 @ 84mph, that was leaving like a granny, spinning through most of second and not focusing on shifting... Its going back up on jackstands, and getting coilovers, illuminas, sectioning struts, camber plates, new axle, installing the Walbro, re-shooting the paint because of some bad spots that arised after paint, cleaning up and possibly painting the engine bay, lots of stuff to come in the future..   13. And no, there is not a whole lot out there about the alternator setup on swaps like mine, where you basically start from scratch and dont have all the wires sitting there for you. My Custom harness did not have the wires needed, and I did not have the pigtail, or it modified to use the 1 wire I needed. I know youre just trying to help, but please, dont be an
  14. Now listen guys... lol... I think after all I have been through, I know how to use the search button. I am sorry for offending the great search gods in my request for an answer!!! Ok, now that I have figured it out, there are a couple of different ways people have hooked these up, I had to get a pigtail, run 1 wire from the alt, to a 12V power source, but with a 500 ohms worth of resistors wired in a series from that 12V run only, to that 1 wire coming out of the pigatil connector on the alternator... Now, great gods of the almighty search button, MAY I HAVE NOT STARTED THIS THREAD, or a couple others.. My alternator would already be fried due to the wire not being hooked up correctly and the alternator putting out way too much power.. LS1tech guys said theirs lasted about 4 hours being wired wrong.   15. I know there is a pigtail that has 1 wire coming out of it, but where does that go, and what else do you hook up, and to where?
  16. I Already did this. I drilled 1 hole in 2 of the studs on each wheel. Im still not sure as of what I can use to secure the nuts from backing off completely, but it is still being thought up. I thought about actually using a very small high grade bolt and nut with some hefty use of green loctite. Ever read the back of the green loctite package? That stuff has to get pretty damn hot to lose effect.
  17. Haha, rubbing is NOT fun!! I went on my first couple of runs and they were rub city. My fenders were sitting about an inch off of the tire.. so I hacked up the fenders, threw the ZG's on and gained soooo much tire clearance. I can now lower the car much farther than I ever thought I would be able to. Definitely is going to have the look I want!

If you plan on lowering your car "alot" and if youre using a bigger wheel and tire combo, then I might recommend cutting a little bit higher. 240Hoke said he has rubbed a couple of times, and wants his cut higher from what I remember. The reason I was ok with fixing the backwards flare issue was because I want my car really low, but didnt really feel like sectioning the struts. Well now I have forced myself to go coilovers and sectioned struts by putting my flares up so high. This is the only way to get your car low enough. Look at where my cut went up to in comparison to the body line. Its pretty fankin high up there.
  19. Those are 17x9 03 cobra replicas. Got them at http://www.americanmuscle.com They were around 550 for all 4 shipped. Had to get wheel adapters from eBay for them to fit. Dont plan on lowering your car too far without doing what I just did if you want to keep your tires from rubbing.
