  1. They don't sell as well anymore, because the mystique is gone. It's a lot of trouble to do a stroker.
  2. Those can be a mutha to get off. We broke 2 cheapo breaker bars getting the set I got.
  3. You have mail my freind. Doug.
  4. Pretty decent car, but the door handles break from the outside making it hard to get in.
  5. I found a July built 1975 Mercedes 450 in a yard today and checked the number off the injectors by a spread sheet I have. The info I have says they are 380cc at 43.5 psi. Number is (0 280 150 036). They are shown to be fitted into MB 1972-1975 2.8L-4.5L and Volvo 1970-75. I've always heard they were at least 420cc injectors. Are these not the same application I am seeing people posting about here? Doug.
  6. 370cc injectors are not a direct drop in, but they are close. The upper plastic has to be trimmed back about 1/8":enough to get a small clamp on it. I think ScottieGNZ has an article on his page. Doug.
  7. The 370cc works fine with the stock setup if you tightned the AFM a little. I have a set of 6 for 100+shipping. They are usually pulled from an XR4Ti Merkur or possibly some Mustang SVOs/Turbo Tbird/Cougar. Doug.
  8. Pretty sure it's done all the time. Search the topic in this forum.

    Jeep Dana 60?????

The mail truck is definately narrower than the ordinary one. Mike C is correct that NOT all IH T-alls had Dana 60s and they would have to be narrowed. However, they aren't all 8 bolts and they are semi floating in the 5 lug version. Semi floating just means regular type rearend if your wondering. Maybe this shouldn't get out as more street rodders will be grabbing them. They have the large Ford bolt pattern. I can hook you up with one if you need it: $250 + shipping. Dana 60s backed up the elephant motored (Hemi) Mopars in the 60s-70s so they'll hold what you can give it. The Mopar version goes for up to $1100.

    Jeep Dana 60?????

I think it's a Dana 44. Still a heavier duty unit, though. The 60 can be had out of a IH TravelAll for under 250. Can't offer help on the other stuff. Doug.
  11. Isn't it 200 dollars though? It was 2 yrs ago.
  12. All porsche 911s had sodium filled valves, didn't they. Those particular M engines do have a high failure rate, though. I came across it on Metacrawler recently.
  13. Could potentially be more. The 454 is a torque monster if healthy. I have the same thing, A-body car, 69 lemans (conv) with a 400 big block. I put in an original/used 71 GTO 400 block, some 350hp heads, 3.32:1 chunk, HEI all in a 3800lb car. I gained nothing over the 180hp low compression 1973 Safari wagon engine that was in the car when I got it. Very disappointing. Guess the cam is worn out. My ex-83ZXT will outrun the car, a Volvo will, too . I look cool getten beat though . Still, good job! Doug.
  14. Don't look at the link below unless you want to laff. I found this on a Pontiac site. It's about half way down the thread. You'll find Kermit riding high. http://performanceyears.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=10;t=002519
  15. I want one. Probably the o-ring version for some rx-7 inj 86-87 NA low impedence 460 cc. Doug.
  16. DigitalZ, I got my license in Lihue, marriage that is. I sure liked the island...very laid back. We got to go over last year and stayed in Poipu. Oahu is too busy. Hawaii was great. Maybe we'll add Maui next time. Doug.
  17. Olds did have the idea right. Pontiac Ram-Air from the 60's didn't really ram much until they pushed the intakes to the front of the hood in 71 for the GTO and 70 for the Formula Firechicken. The lower temp of the air did make a diff though. You're correct. You can get the same ram effect that the '96 and up Pontiac's get on the Z hood due to the slope up front.
  18. found this sbc roadster on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1856794998
  19. Just wondering if anyone has modified a fuel rail to use the maxda type injectors. Doug.
  20. I never saw this swap, but 2 yrs ago or so, someone sent me pics of some cars at a Roadster show in Canada. It was somebody off Zcar. The post claimed a sbc swap and a Jag V12 swap, each in 1600s were present. Possible but I don't know about the Jag. humm.
  21. I've had 2 of those. Make sure you get a 1600 and not a 2000. The 1600 is an overhead valve engine and overheats warping the head, so it's a good donor. The 2000 is an overhead cam/5 speed like the Z and is too valuable to destroy. Also, the pre 68 has a low, bolt on windshield and the 68 up ha a high body color windshield. There were some rarly done rotary swaps done in the past, but rotary's & Roadsters are dwindling now. Never seen a turbo done though. I'd love to see someone do it here. I have talked with someone in Canada who sent some pics of swaps up there. Not only does the Roadster have a full frame, it has a HUGE X connecting the 2 frame rails to each other. It would tolerate 500+ hp easily. No b.s. I swapped a 2.3 for the old technology turbo mustang/capri back in 80s into a 1967 1600. When it cracked the head, I set a sbc in the engine compartment and it fit right in. The steering shaft would have to be worked over and a remote oil cooler would need to be used. Also, the exhaust runs through the X portion, so an additional hole would have to be sectioned into the X. I wouldn't recommend it for the balance issues, but would be a nice overkill project. The turbo rotary is the better choice. Doug.
  22. Perfecto! Looks identical to mine. Much more thanks. D.
  23. I think they probably will. scca Mike said he got some that don't work...I think they wouldn't accept a 280ZX caliper. These accept a caliper, I just wonder if they would locate the caliper too far in or out from the center point. Guess I'll have to go to the effort of trying. Thanks all. D.
  24. A Poncho powered Z is a unique item. A 400cid can produce around 450 pounds of torque with cast iron heads/intake & stock crank revved under 5600 rpms. In a Z you don't need all those money eating goodies. Love those Pontiacs. I just got a 68 convert GTO, a 68 convert Lemans as a donor for the GTO, a 69 hardtop GTO, all to go with my longtime 69 convert Lemans. Doug.
  25. I didn't dispute anyone. I just want someone to look at the little picture of my brackets and tell me (sob) if they are correct. Thanks, Doug. It is generally understood that there are 2 styles of rear setups. Tim, these were such a PITA, that I refuse to go back and get anymore.
