  1. hey guys can you point me to a link with CCW's so that i can see what they look like. Thanks!!
  2. I just put it up, give it about 45 min or so it should post then
  3. I fabricated one a number of years ago that i was looking at selling, the difficulty is that the shape necessary to hold two guages on the pillar of a Z is a very difficult shape to mass produce. Out of Fiberglass it would be a 3 piece mold at the minimum. So pricing on an item like that would be at least $90.00 each if not more. having a custom one made would be several hundred dollars. Again Z's are not a Hondas, there aren't 10 billion on the street. So low production items are going to be expensive. here is a photo: http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=6615 be sure to look at my other photos too..
  4. thanks Pete, there is still a lot of work to be done I am hopeful that I can get it done by the LA Z convention next year...
  5. It will be set up for very short on road stints, (turnsignals and licence plates) but will really be set up for track duty, 4.44 LSD, close ratio 5spd overdrive trans ("A" box gearing), and BRE built 2.4L motor (12.1 compression) with 44 Mikuni Solex carbs. I want to take it on a few short rallies here in southern california, but mostly it will do time at Fontana, Willow Springs, Vegas Motorspeedway and Phoenix.. So the answer to your question is 10% on road 90% track time.
  6. i believe that les canaday has at least 1 FJ20 as well. You can contact him at 760-940-6365. I think that he might have an RB25 or 26 as well...
  7. thanks for the link, but i could not identify which car was yours according to the registry!?!...could you be a little more specific, which chasis # or which picture is your car. There were 2 blue roadster race cars, one was #2 (blue and white) and the other was #67 (baby blue) I believe.. Do you know what number your roadster raced under orginally when it was BRE's car? was it #3? Dan Parkinson's car? I know Les Canaday pretty well, his shop is 2 miles from where I live. He has racing number #45 which used to be the FAR performance racing roadster that was used by BRE in a commercial in the 70's and panted up like one of the original BRE roadsters. He also has one of the Bob Sharp Racing Roadsters... I am sure that your uncle will know who he is, if you don't.. Les has been a great help to my cause, finding a number of difficult parts so that I can put my car together, introducing me to John Morton, Pete Brock, Ian Brock, Jerry Mason and many others. He is a great wealth of knowledge and is very excited to see these race cars come back to life. If your uncle has not contacted Les, i would suggest that he call him at 760-940-6365. where are you located?
  8. True, but I don' t think Jerry Mason is about to sell his BRE Z car, the only one still in existance, and if he did I don't think many of us could afford it. However, I have been collecting parts for years and now have enough parts to build a legitimate replica. With more authentic parts than most vintage race cars... When it is done it will be hard to tell the difference between my car and the orginal. And I will be happy BTW, I would really like to see photos of your "orginal" BRE roadster(s).
  9. Hmm, could be!?! Aux. is essentially correct, to stitch weld that trianglar area behind the fender is an old ITS trick...
  10. PDK fabrication, Oceanside California, 760-724-0144 ask for Mark. The CF dashes are no longer available but they do offer a fiberglass dash, I will have more pictures this weekend with my fiberglass dash. the Strut Braces, Fiberglass Dashes, And Custom Fabrication are their specialities!!
  11. Hey well those of us on the left coast wish you safe travel out here. If some one takes over I hope that they do a good a job as you did. In the event that no one takes over, I sure would apreciate the schematics. Another option might be my friends at PDK Fabrication. They currently manufacture a working strut bar solution for an early Z, Fiberglass Dashes, custom roll cage fabrication (see my members gallery at classiczcars.com) and would be a good choice for taking over your project..they would do a quality job and crazy about racing. I believe that you know John Williams, who made some turnbuckles for you out here on the left coast..They know John really well too..well enough name dropping for now. As far as Mr Coffey, well i have seen his car and it is a very nice Z car, i wish you guys the best, John has done a lot of research and gone to a lot of expense to build up that car and I understand that his car can turn the fastest lap (in a Z) around willow springs by 3 to 4 seconds. So you will have your hands full.. We hope to see you out for the Z convention next Year here in LA, then perhaps this grudge match would be settled in the public Z arena..
  12. Mike, I don't know if we should be happy or sad for you. Congrats on your new job, but we are sorry to see you go...You offered a great service to the Z community. Since you are no longer offerring your product for sale would it be possible to get the schematics for your front and rear suspension parts should some of us skilled with a TIG welder decide to manufacture a set of these on their own?
  13. Thanks, you bring up a very valid point, the brackets that are currently tacked to the floor will be tied into the bulkhead just to the outside on the left and right side respectively, the photos might not show that too well or it might not be visable in the photos, We will be pulling the fenders next weekend to do a few old ITS Z tricks for strengthening the front quarterpanels of the car and also attaching the cage to the front suspension through the firewall. I will have additional pictures up next weekend. In the mean time if you have any other suggestions I would love to hear them. Again thank you..
  14. Thanks!! The guys at PDK Fabrication are doing a really great job!! the Seats are Ultra Shield road race seats, like the Kirkey, just a little better in my opinion..
  15. Enclosed are a series of photos of the Roll Cage installation on my 240Z. The installation thus far has been done by PDK Fabrication and they have done a great job building up the cage for my "soon to be running" Vintage Race Car project. Click on the Link below and go to "view all members photos" for all the detailed photos. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=6333 Thanks!!
  16. NEW Photos on my Member Galleries: http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=6333 Check out my new photos, got the front hoop completed yesterday and I have posted new photos The Guys at PDK Fabrication have done real quality fabrication on my roll cage with swift precision and quality work. I can't say enough about the work that has been done.
  17. Yes, i believe you are correct, the car was up for sale on ebay, although i don't know if it sold..
  18. cool, to each his own, you might want to consider a red and yellow paint scheme as painted on the BRE offroad Z car it was red with yellow, with white side panels...It looked cool and would be very unique.
  19. there was a guy in southern california that had a 260 with flames painted on the front of it who took a set of fiberglass headlight covers and built in PIA headlights, which is similar to what you are trying to achieve. There should be a number of pictures of that car running around, I am sure you can contact motorsport auto, they would have some photos of it as well. You might be able to get some ideas from that guys solution.
  20. Found and purchased a Vintage aluminum Harrison Corvette radiator!! Ordered my Fuel cell!! If your shopping for a fuel cell, the guys at ATL are great and very helpful..
  21. Mark listed in the posts above in his BRE car blew up his 2.8 drysump motor at the end of the main straightaway at Fontana on Sunday. Put a hole in the block large enough to put your fist through..took out the oil pan too.

First i am glad that you saw that show, it was pretty cool. Les Cannaday invited John Morton to show up and managed to cut himself out of the show..The 510 you saw originally belonged to a guy here in southern california (Dave Wilson) who built the car with the help of Les Cannaday. It is really a street car with a few extras. the tricky part was finding all the parts for the JDM motor out of Canada. I apreciate your interest but the following posts are correct, you need to have a plan and follow it. If you have questions about the 510 you can call Les at 760-940-6365.
  23. regarding your question about the CF dash we are looking at reworking our Mold and putting together a small production run. I will know more in a week or two. We do have our prototype available if you are interested, it is the one in the photos and you can contact PDK Fabrication about that specific part. Phone: 760-724-0144 ask for Mark..It might still be available.
  24. Spent Sunday scraping off the tar material on the floor and rear deck, and tacking my cage in and fitting the drivers seat, motivated after watching the guys on saturday at Fontana. Here is the link to my photo gallery: http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=6333
