  1. I would suggest a "Well Cell" from ATL, their 8 and 12 gallon wheel well cell fits nicely into the rear spare tire well and would provide you the safety that you are looking for. Advantages of the "Well Cell": 1) no excessive modification to the chassis of your car. 2) It is FIA SCCA etc. rated 3) reasonable cost 4) FI compatable Disadvantages: 1) the Spare tire well is not the best place to install a fuel cell for weight balance in a race car application 2) you should make some type of cover or bulkhead for safety and SCCA regulations. 3) You will need to fabricate mounting brackets to hold the cell in place. I suggest contacting ATL directly and ordering your cell, they made me a great deal on the "well cell" I put in my Z.
  2. well I suspect that you will be changing setups with the V8 conversion. generally most people suggestsomewhere between 225 to 275 LB spring rates for day to day driving. I cant really speak to drag racing set-ups however. You might want to contact Erik Messley or John Coffey. I run the Hypercoil springs and have been very happy with them. $48 dollars each is a great price.
  3. To help you some more details would be nice. Should we assume that your z is a 240, 260 or 280Z? can you give us some more details so that we can help suggest spring rates? What kind of motor, are you a hybrid? OEM motor, a turbo motor? Thanks..
  4. you will loose headroom with the miata seat. Recaro made a Design 2000 seat many years ago that fit in my Z quite well and I am 6'2".
  5. yeah, shipping sucks you should see how hard it is to find a box that fits the dash!!
  6. The dashes are $400.00 plus shipping.
  7. no worries, Jason . I have gotten a lot of flack regarding the pricing of the CF dashes in the past, so I automatically attempt to justify the pricing. kind of a knee jerk reaction I guess . Photos of our protype CF Dash:
  8. Provided the 240Z dash fits a 280 (which i think it will not including the center console). Then no, we do not plan to produce a 280Z dash. Our part is made for racing applications, this dash is an alternative to an aluminum solution that keeps the original look of the car with a light weight race part. For the hard core racer having a 240 dash or 280 dash does not matter much.... That being said, if you can find enough interest to make a run of TEN 280Z style dashes we will look into producing them. As far as the CF dash, the labor to make one of these in CF is easily 3 times what it is to make a fiberglass dash. Even at $1200.00 each, it is not profitable for us to do these.
  9. The dash is designed to mount to the stock locations, however tabs and two brackets have to be attached to support the dash. So some fabrication is necessary. Here is the dash of one of our customers:
  10. Les, the owner of Classic Datsun is a friend of mine. I will ask him about that to see if he cant make an exception. He has the mould for it, I have one of his fiberglass ones. Ron
  11. We are starting presently, to place an order with our supplier. $400.00 each. We are looking for 5 prepaid orders.
  12. We offer a 240Z fiberglass racing dash currently ($400.00) that would not have to be modified for your application. We do offer a carbon solution as well but it runs $1200.00 ZG flares are available through Classic Datsun, I am sure he can have a set done in CF for you. CF hoods and hatches are available through Classic Datsun as well. I would like to see the headlight covers with sugar scoop (all one piece) tailight panels, chin spoiler and other such items
  13. Nope, think you meant me. "PDK Fabrication" is putting together a group buy on our fiberglass dash. To my knowledge Ross is not doing a fiberglass replacement dash.
  14. I believe that ultrasheild makes a road race seat that is adjustable. Also I had a set of recaro Design 2000 seats that worked well with my old Autopower bar. perhaps you can forward some photos of the problem area so that we can be of better help.
  15. Did you look here? http://www.geocities.com/z_design_studio/
  16. A cool trick I have seen are stripes painted in the same color of your car with metalic flake mixed in the paint. So when the paint is in the sun you can see the BRE stripes.
  17. Hmm, saw it in someones gallery, and grabbed a copy. Maybe it was yours! Best Holiday wishes!!
  18. good Quiz Alan, I had seen this picture before. And here is your answer: A factory roll cage option. Ron
  19. Oh, I had spoken to Amir and he had told me that he was taking his car over to erik....
  20. yeah, that's Demon's car, Amir bought our fiberglass dash. John, are you working with Eric Messley now?
  21. I am curious why that was done on the Devendorf car (what is the benifit). A petty bar is as close of a name for the bar running through the center of the car, from the center of the roll bar to the cross bar on the roll cage. I do not intend to add that to my car, but am curious because serveral serious racers campaigning Z have used a similar solution.
