  1. Tell your parents (and others) how much you appreciate them while you still have them. Do it today because tomorrow may be too late. This goes especially for you, Bansheeboy11.
  2. 1972 Firebird Formula 400... could more than peg the 160MPH speedo.

  4. It hasn't snowed here for more than a quarter century. That is if you don't count the sprinkling we got a couple years ago that melted before it could turn the ground white. BTW, the grass stayed mostly green all winter... as usual.
  5. Boy from Oz... Thank you for the informative post. I want to run 6" rims in front and 8" in the rear. I'm not even going to try for the correct look because I just can't afford the Dayton spokes. Instead, for now at least, I'm just going for a 60's period look with some nice used lightweight aluminum wheels. My goal is to get the backspacing correct to properly fill these wide fenders. The offset on the current wheels look completely wrong. They don't even come close to filling the fenders properly.
  6. This is for an old Alpha 1. If I install 5-lug adapters that are 2" thick on all four wheels is the correct wheel backspace then 5.5" all the way around for 8" rear wheels and 6" front wheels? http://www.skulte.com/product_info.php/cPath/21/products_id/56 Better and/or cheaper 5-lug solutions anyone?

  8. There's a world of hurt everywhere. FWIW, it's nice to know that someone in management gives a sh_t. Thank you.
  9. I want one because, if I build primarily for efficiency, I can drive 1000 (one thousand) miles on $17 worth of San Antonio electricity. Plus, motor and driveling (no transmission or clutch) upkeep is practically nill. Then there is, of course, all that torque to play with. Alas... I don't have the $15-20K to pay someone to restore and convert the 260 sitting in my driveway.

We do break a hundred during the summer here in the Alamo city... sometimes for weeks at a time. Thankfully, it's never humid during the hot months. Nineties can seem like 110's if it's humid there though.

^^^ Crybabies... it got down to the low 40's here the last couple days and it's expected to climb only to the high 70's the rest of the week.

^^^ And this is where you'll get your power too.
  13. Yeah, letitsnow posted two good ones. Another is thirdgen.org. You might try racingjunk.com too.
  14. Terry, Any idea on pricing should you offer this kit for sale?
  15. Yup... haven't we all wanted to send "special messages" to those who deserve a harsh textual spanking?! The power can easily be provided by either by-passing the internal AC-DC power supply if the internals are run off of 12v DC or with the use of a simple inexpensive 12v DC to 120v AC inverter if not. It's the cosmetic integration that may pose a challenge. But there are many creative folks here and I'm sure someone can easily accomplish the job. I'm lazy and would buy a turn-key offering.
  16. You could probably canibalize the recent Mustang rear tail lights with this feature but I don't know which model/year and/or option this was. I've only seen a couple 'Stangs with it in the last several years.
  17. I've though about installing a couple of those small outside (bright) tri-color LED signs in place of my turn/stop/running lights. The colors are red, green, and yellow which is enough for anything needed on a car. Those come with animation software that can be customized and downloaded to the signs. The RGB version would be very cool but I don't think there are any bright enough... plus they're quite pricey compared to the tri-color versions.
  18. A purpose-built EV can make one helluva street rocket where short-range power is king... a real Cobra/Viper killer.
  19. Yes but those anchors are very beefy and are positioned in the wet concrete before it sets. And the concrete is (or should be) a harder commercial mix that can withstand the pressures. Lag bolts, especially in poor quality concrete, will never have that kind of strength.
  20. Man, from the pic I can't tell how that bugger's configured. Now I'm curious.
