  1. Wow, what a build. I have always wanted to build a cage, but I am sure my plans would fall short in every way compared to yours. What would the bare minimum be for caging up your Z? My z will not be seeing track time, but I would like to put a hoop and some bracing. Or would I just be adding useless weight? Again, props to you on such nice fabrication. I am very impressed, as is everyone else.
  2. If you decided to weld it, you have to do a write up on it. I would like to see some pics of one welding up. Not really for me, but an interesting ides none the less.
  3. Did you have any issues welding to the cast? I have heard mixed opinions about welding cast and I guess if it is done correctly, then there should be no issues. I have a HX35W and I was thinkin about modding it to run an external WG set-up. Oh, and what a sweet build! It is coming together nicely, very much an inspiration to all of us!
  4. I am sorry I did not answer you Kash, for some reason I was not notified when you posted your reply. It looks like your question was answered correctly. I do have access to a chip burner and we could try pulling off the tune and using it. After all you paid good money for it. Nistune does have other features besides its tuning capabilities. When you use a NIStune type one board, you basically turn your ecu into a consult compatible ecu allowing you to do things like check codes. I do not know much about the m30/u12 ecus. I may go do some reading.
  5. Photobucket = Fail... I would love to see this as well. Could you email this info, or a link?
  6. Thanks guys for the advice. And way to go with the pics, cause that was gonna be my next request. Meph, yours are supposed to be the ZG knock-offs.... which I would imagine would fit better than the ebay universal set. Your car looks great by the way. I may still watch the set on ebay and hope to get a set for like $50, which should justify the extra work. I can not see paying $150 for them however. If I do end up with a set, I will post my experience. Thank you so much for the help.
  7. Has anyone had any experience with the ebay universal flares? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-Fender-Flare-Corolla-AE86-Fairlady-240Z-S13-180sx_W0QQitemZ200379011597QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item2ea785120d&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245 I know you get what you pay for, but I have seen these go for cheap.... If someone has tried them, I would love to know how they fit, and what it took to get them to fit.
  8. Your car is beautiful. I hope my Z looks as good as yours when I am finished. I have a few questions about your set-up. What are the specs on your wheels and tires? What front air dam are your running? I stumbled across your car and it has got me fired up. You have done such a great job with your Z.
  9. I have noticed a number of people that have questions about Nistune. I would like to help those who have questions or need anything cleared up. I will do my best to answer these questions and if I do not know the answer, I will try to find it. Thanks for taking time to read this. -Andy (Xylemer)

  11. I have a NOS Brake booster rebuild kit... I was going to use it, but my booster turned out to be ok... for now. anyone interested?
  12. Hey, regultori... what size tires are you running... and how low did you lower your car? I am trying to judge how low i want my car. Thanks everyone for your help.
  13. with that said... do you think i need to cut more out... i would like my car to look like it has coilovers, if that is even possiable. and i will be getting shorter shocks, the ones you mentioned.
  14. Thanks for the response guys... my car is a 73, so the mount thing will not help. I have read the faq and searched but all the info I found out there is about coilovers. I expected the answers you gave, I wanted to get a second opinion. I am glad to find that this had not been covered, it may give people another option. I would love to have a coilover setup, but I would rather save money here than elsewhere. I do not plan on doing any racing, so adjustability is a plus not a necessity. I am building this more for looks than performance. I know that may sound crazy, but i have a 240sx that is built for performance. Now about the fab work... yes it will be a big job, but I could always add coilovers if need be... I plan on cutting the strut tube (sorry johnc, my wording was bad) as if i am going with coilovers. I will try to take pics of the whole process so others may see. I am still waiting on my springs and I have yet to order my shocks. I have plenty of other things to work on in the mean time. rust just doesn't fix itself. I do how ever have another quick question.... how much do most of you guys lower your car with the coilovers... if i take out a 1" section and have 1" lowering springs, then i should get about 2". that should be enough. oh, and I got a killer deal on a set of lowering springs!
  15. I am planning on using lowering springs on my s30 (Coilovers just not in the budget).... and my question is, can i get my car lower by sectioning the shock tubes... of course i would need shorter shocks. It seems like a good way to get lower without cutting your springs... please correct me if i am wrong. if this has been covered please feel free to flame on.
  16. -33... i didn't know rims could go that low... haha... we should start a new thread... "who has the lowest offset" hehe... that is a good find though... thanks garvice... i need to start saving!
  17. wow... that looks awesome... i can only hope mine looks as good as that... someday! So clean! I've gotta get me some of those rims... hows the fitment by the way?
  18. That is a good price... just not the right size. Great find though. Thanks and I'll be on the lookout. oh, and regulatoi, if you get a chance to take a pic of those wheels on your car, post them, I'm sure everyone including me would love to see it.
  19. hey thanks for the reply... i bet they arent available in the us... i like it... kinda different... love the wantanbes, just cant afford
  20. Does anyone know what wheel this is... or any info at all.... I have looked all over and i can't find anything. Please help! thanks
