You can just add this recirculation kit
-
I do have that book but i lent it to a buddy, so is Corky saying to stay close but not over 450ft/sec? Is it the same for two turbos? you think they would move more CFM? I dont know??? This is my Apexi Core This is a stock GTR core 80mm!
-
The car will be a street car, with some time on the 1/4 mile. I would like to some day have 550hp @ the wheels, to get there i would get better turbos and injectors some were under 700cc. That is what i would add to the car, but as it sits it will have 3" SS exhaust and down pipe, SDS, Apexi GTR intercooler, and a open intake with no MAS and one or two K&N filters. I just looked at a stock GTR core on Ebay and it had 80mm or 3.149" Ports, so i think i will be O.K

A lot of guys shave the gas door and install a fuel cell, then fill it up from the hatch. but you could cut the gas door and pocket out and move it, then cut and splice in a tube for the filler hose. you could do this

ahrens z car, Nice car, what size are your rear tires/rims?
-
o.k. Tell me if I’m stupid of if you think this is not proper. As some of you might know I am in the middle of a RB26DETT swap. The point that I am now at is the intercooler plumbing. The RB’s intake is just over 3†ID as well as the turbos Y-collector. So I got some 3.25†ID bends from www.sharpeproducts.com . To graft in to my Apexi GTR core’s end tanks. And some connectors from Hoover at www.turbohoses.com, if you guys need connectors and other turbo parts call him. He has a L28 that has almost 500rwhp on 91oct gas So my question is, 3.25†ID is pretty darn big do you think this will have a negative affect on my HP #’s and lag time. Keeping in mind that it is a twin and turbo and the runs of pipe are not that long, and at one point I will be running around 18psi through it with upgraded turbos.
-
Stony, what size of intercooler piping are you using? It looks like 3"+, is it 3.5"? The turbo y-collector on the RB26 dumps out at 3.5" and the in take is also 3.5" Just got my Apexi GTR core, Wow is it nice just hope it works as good as it looks. I got it for 588$ from XS eng. P.S how is the CV swap going? I will have your sump ready soon, if you still want it?
-
Wow 301 @ the wheels. what kind of computer are you running?
-
Mudge, did you get the heads that I sent you? what do you think? i hope you like them.

If you look on my link you will see that my handles are shaved. What i did was welded the brackets that came with the solenoids to the bump that was on the door skin, were the out side door handle was. then used moutain bike shifter sleve to gide the solenoid cable.

I do design work on AutoCAD, but I'm not an engineer

Rick, Nice car, I like how you have modified every aspect of it, interior, body, drive train, suspension, brakes. It is a nice package and to top it off HRE wheels. Just one thing stuck out to me, why did you not mount your hks blow off valve closer to your TB? Or dose it not matter? Do you have any 14 mile times on it? The reason i asked about the Momo seats is you dont see them as often as you do other seats, you see alot of weels and shifters. Just wondering if there is a reason.

240Z TURBO, Were do you get your expansion joints from? I just got a 3†one from Turbonetics and it seems thin, like around 0.030†will this be O.K? Also were do you get your bends from? I have picked some up from Burns stainless, but they seem expensive. Nice work

The companion flange is the part that has splines and bolts up to the stub axle with I big bolt. And bolts up to the half shaft with four smaller bolts. I think you will need 280Z stub shafts as well. Because the splined part is bigger, there for the 280Z companion flange will not bolt up to a 260Z stub axle. This is also a good upgrade for more powerful Z’s.

ON3GO, i like Z32 seats i think i would keep them in that car.
-
it's parked in pieces, indoors. you can see it on my link how it sits. waiting for summer, but that is O.K. because it still needs lots of work.
-
I have never seen them in a store, up here in winnipeg. just a little worried because i have never seen them the main reason i ordered them was to go with my wheel and shifter. i know people like corbeau's but i have never heard good or bad about momo. P.S. The only reason i can afford them is because i live with my mom and dad still, got to stop building up my Z to be able to get my own place...and no I' not 32 still at home, just 24 years old...so the days of dumping cash into cars are soon to end

Sorry for not getting back to you, I ordered the Earl’s –8 fittings and the laser cut sumps will be in on Monday. So when the fittings are in I will be able to bend and weld it up. I will keep you posted. How is the CV swap going?

question about electronics like boost, fuel, etc controllers
BRAD D replied to a topic in Miscellaneous Tech
A lot of stand alone engine management systems have built in switches for controlling boost. By saying switches I mean user set RPM signals that can be used to switch a relay. Then you can hook that relay up to a solenoid to have a low high boost set up, by bleeding the waste gate at different rates. But I believe that some of the more expensive systems like MOTEC will have gear specific boost and fuzzy logic and enough options to set up that you could go to school to learn how to use all of them. so you would still have to have some sort of valve to bleed pressure to the waste gate, that the system could controll. -
Thanks Ross C, How is the CV swap kit going. I'm not clear on how it works? is it the same as the ZXT CV kit? Do i need to send you 280Z flanges?

BRAD D replied to 80LS1T's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
80LT1, I saw on your other post that you picked the Kandy Blue. did you go to a paint shop and see what I was talking about? by the way the more Kandy you put on the darker it gets. And i just took a look at your link, Nice car it will be a killer. -
I'm still looking for a mustache bar

they dont last long, but they hook up. and they are not bad in the rain. my car is a summer only car, so i dont put a lot of miles on them, there for they last a long time. if you go to my link there is some photos of them. -
