Well after a few months of pain and misery I have found out what my engine problem was, to put it simlply I thought the timing was off and did everything meaning way over a grand in repairs to try and fix it. It turns out that the timing wire needs a special primary timing gun and not a normal secondary signal gun. So there never really was a problem................................................................................................................................................................. DOH! Now as far as the car being slow that is because this engine detonates like crazy on 91 octane with stock boost. After I upped the octane the car held 20 degrees more timing.................Doh! I think It will run about 13@110 now. I hope to be at sac this weekend. I also want to can the thermostate to lessen the detonation.

  3. Hey everybody, I have not abandon the board but I have been working on a timing issue on my car for a very long time now. I still do not have all the bugs worked out but I will run sacramento this weekend if the weather is good. Since my last run I have new fuel pressure reg new TPS new fuel filter Bypassed the pulasation dampner change the ECU(stock) Mobile 1 in crankcase v160 in tranmission new timing belt fixed pan leak

  5. cheftrd the cam timig relative to the crankshaft is correct I checked it. The motor may have been apart. THe sensor can not move location but I was wondering if the timing gear moved...
  6. I am stumped with my 1994 Supra TT swap. The timing is wrong so I bought the MT2500 snap-on scanner. And found that the computer thinks the timing is at 10 degrees (base timing) as shown by the scanner, but the actual timing light show that timing is at 20 degrees. I know this car has been in a wreck so something could be funny. The car has always be down on power. Doesn't the computer know where the crankshaft is by the crankshaft sensor and a notched ring that is on the engine. Could the sensor be bad by 10 degrees? Could the ring have slid around 10 degrees on the crank? Would the computer throw a code? Could the green wire on the ingiter be off? Need a genius.

  8. Ok I have heard about: Iraq, Michael Moron's movie, oil, Bush stinks , blah blah, and whatever else can be bitterly argue about. Now I want to talk about basic underlying Democrat goal. Republican want to have a strong economy by helping businesses, cutting taxes and making government smaller and such, this helps us by having good jobs etc. But I have have never heard a Democrat explain how raising mimimum wage, increasing taxes, requiring more stringent eviromental regulations, empowering unions, and expand the government to a more socialist government that will take you craddle to grave will help the country as a whole. No lame bashing but I just want some Democrat to actually explain this.

  11. My tarus fan draws 32 amps running. It runs great but isn't that a little much to draw it blow 30 amps fuses but not 40 ampers....
  12. Hey Z ya nice to meet ya! I was rushed when I meet you hope I was not rude. Well I ran sac last night the car ran 13.5@106.5 consistantly since the MPH is slow than a stock supra I am upset. The car is dyno at 305 so that should run 12.2 @115. I do not know how the car can make the power when it is on the dyno but not when it is running...

  14. Hey, Since I have put a few hundred miles on the Z I thought I would tell you about how it drives. I have to say that the car feels very sluggish next to the LS1 Z. I think I would need 75 more HP in a turbo car to feel like a V8. The car has smooth power. With a V8 it only matters where the pedal is, the RPM's do not seems to affect the torque greatly. The 2jz-gte is such a small engine, off boost it is soggy, it requires the boost to be up AND at least midlevel RPM's to go. Another note the flywheels on both of these engines are too heavy for a Z. Missaligning the RPM's is a serious deal. I need the lightened fly wheel...

  17. Ok here is the scoop my twin turbo 240Z may be capable of close to 500HP. I plan on drivng my car, road racing, drag racing etc..Now truth be told I heard the 240Z stub axles break and the 280 one are not much better. For some reason I fear wheels fly'n off my car. So I am try to decide on the best Rear suspension. Vote for the best Rear suspension for my 240Z. 94 Supra IRS- REAL hard custom installation but great Ford 9"- awsomely strong, no finese, still difficult to install Stock with upgrade axles etc.- easy to install still weak stubs Other
  18. Is anyone have adapters to mount these on the car? JSK? Is there any reason they will not work?
  19. How do you figure I was not down on power? I ran 98mph (which works out to 205RWHP) now that changed the plugs I figure I should run 112mph(305RWHP). I have to test it tomorrow to know for sure, my intercooler effectiveness is still unknow. I keep you posted.
  20. THanks! I know the dyno graph is messy but the two top lines are torque and the bottoms are HP. Look how much more lower end torque the LS1 generates. The cars have similar power but the LS1's power delivery is so much better, not even counting the turbo lag. But wait I will turn the boost up and Crush the LS1's power!

  23. I put my LS1 Dyno on top of my new 2jz-gte dyno sheet and traced out the curves with a sharpie. It is an interesting comparision. Though the power is not much different the delivery is. I emailed it to marcos to post but I am not sure he got it to post.
  24. When Marcos posts the pics you will see. (thanks!)I am trying to narrow this for the 240z. I am think of cutting our a section of the IRS subframe on either side narrowing it. I need a source for shortened axles for my CVs. This looks do able but hard.
