My goal is for this post to turn into the 2JZ-GTE installation post. Here is my contribution: http://www.blkmgk.com/Development/TestWEB.nsf The 1jz install is similar. Thanks blkmgk

Very nice. Is that the 2jz i saw on ebay with the crazy header? I would strongly recommend a small turbo because the lag makes the car so spongey around town. I am used to NA power so I have no patience for a lagging ride. I would like to know what you have in mind for the engine mounts. Lets keep in touch.

(GO TO PAGE THREE FOR PICTURES) I purchased a wrecked 1994 tt six speed supra. I pulled the engine trans dash wiring tank lines rear supension wheels I have now bought: a tanabe downpipe massive extra thick griffin radiator, a set of supra non turbo rims and tires apexi avc-r boost controller a greddy bcc boost cut controller hks sequential blow off valve I might make a custom cross member like on my blue ls1 240z (Amir...,Darius..., where are you? Send pics!) or I may try to custom make forward mounts off of the 2jz-gte, this may be hard because I want to retain AC. I am going to mount the supra rear IRS (I have a 1994 viper rear suspension, too, but i think it is too heavy duty) in the Z too. Anyways I am in Hayward, CA and cannot locate a straight non rusty 240Z. Any help is appreciated...

LS1 ers Check out my new crackhead 2JZ-GTE project coming

The supra engine mounts are close side to side, but are about 6-8 inch to far back. The member blkmgc black magic on has some scans of a magazine Zoom. That I need to locate desperately. It shows 1jz-gte swap in a z which is pretty close. Does any body know of any 2jz-gte in a 240z swap? -

I will hopefully get 425+hp out of the stock turbos. 'fast-revving' short stroke is BS
cyrus replied to Heavy Z's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
My goodness this post is driving me crazy. People are splitting hairs over things that are so insignificant it is amazing. What is important is the general principles, remember all other factors have to be equal: Short stroke can rev higher due to crankshaft reliability small bores can rev higher due to crankshaft reliability. smaller flywheel rev faster less inertia The larger displacement the more powerful an engine Turbos and Superchargers effectively increase displacement. The real important factor in not how who can rev in neutral the fastest, not who has the lowest gears that shift 5 times to go 30 mph. Don't tell me about a S2000 engine vs a big lazy v8. Remember this is with all things being equal. The only thing that matters is the cars performance in the quarter mile. For instance my LS1 240z reved up John Deer but runs 12.0 at 119 mph. So if I have any given engine doing the following makes it more power hence faster: More displacement more RPM more cylinder filling, turbo etc.. less recipricating weight less rotational weight Now if I do the reverse my engine will be weaker. Rember do not compare engine different engine... my 2 liter dohc engine with 12000 rpm redline running 21 psi of boost out powers you 1978 ford 460ci truck motor ohv....kind of crap. Just keep in mind the basics, if I make my engine have: More displacement more RPM more cylinder filling, turbo etc.. less recipricating weight less rotational weight it will be more powerful. -

To sum things up The shorter the stroke the higher the speeds are possible due to crankshaft reliability. Bigger engines make more power and torque hence accel better. The bigger the engine the lower the RPM limit when all other factors are equal. Anyone ride a sport bike 15000 rpm or model airplane engine 25000 rpm. please read the above statements carefully. -
I pulled the engine, trans, tank, dash, now I will pull the rear irs and wiring and sell the car. I have pics if someone wants to host.

I was on the wrong board...I hope you all remember my previous baby blue LS1 240z that ran 12.0 @ 119 mph on street tires with a open dif. I sold that and now I just purchased a wrecked 1994 tt six speed supra. I will pull the engine trans dash wiring tank lines rear supension wheels Then I am going to dump the shell supra. I will use the supra IRS or the Viper IRS I have. I want to use the supra stuff because it is lighter. Now I just need a straight non rusty 240z car. Please send me any info you guys have. Thanks, Cyrus in Hayward, CA
