  1. Thanks for replying. I have started hunting for an R-200 with adapter in hand. And I figured that if I found a diff. with the right pinion size but wrong gearing, then I would at least grab the pinion and match it up with a desired (3.54) diff. However I haven't even been able to find the right size pinion regardless of what gear ratio... BTW, Tomahawk, what gear ratio / condition is yours in? If I can't find one nearby I will definitely be interested in buying yours. Thanks Jaime
  2. A little off the subject. I asked this in a different topic before I stumbled across this thread. You guys using the JTR adapter flange: Did anyone have trouble finding an R-200 that would bolt up to the adapter? I seen to be having trouble trying to find a 3.54 R-200 with the same dimensions as my adapter flange? Any advice? Thanks! Jaime
  3. I need help with this. I have the JTR diff. flange adapter. Now I'm looking for a diff. that will bolt up to the adapter but I have been told that the bolt and pilot size on the adapter is very hard to come by on the diff. Has anyone esle had this problem? Is there a different adapter out there for use w/ SBC V-8? Thanks! -Jaime
  4. OK. I think I need to act fast. Noises from my diff. have slowley but surely gotten worse. It has gotten to the point now that every shift is loud and makes me wonder if my car is going to leave me stranded. Here's the question: I want to swap an R-200 for the spent R-180. (I did a search but I'm just want to be sure) What else do I need besides the diff. and moustache bar? (car is a '72) Will the front mount work with the R-200? Will the stock '72 half-shafts work with the swap? Please help! I need to do this as soon as possible! Thanks in advance! Jaime
  5. Sweet! Thanks guys. I contacted Ross via e-mail and I think we've got the spec's all worked out. Now it's just a waiting game. Can't wait to post some pics. BTW, Cody & Henry, the wheels are looking cool! Thanks for the info. Jaime
  6. Cool! Thank you! Going this route makes getting wheels soooo much easier! (and more affordable!)
  7. Ok, once again I've changed my mind. Instead of ordering really expensive, custom made wheels to fit the Z, I think I'm going to order the wheel adapters from modern-motorsports. Ques: What are the wheel spec's needed for use with these adapters? The money I'm saving will go towards coil-overs and 5-way Tokicos! Thanks in advance! BTW the wheels I want are 17x7.5...
  8. BUMP- Anyone else have info on this topic? How about 17x8? I know this may be a little easier to squeeze under the Z.
  9. Thanks for the info, guys. My biggest problem right now is that I don't have all the parts that I need to do the susp. mods. I have measured my current stock setup with stock size wheels and tires but I want to be sure that will still apply once I modify the susp. Maybe this will work....? '72 240z ground control coil overs ( what spring ratio?) sectioned strut housings w/ tokico 5-way struts (stock fronts in rear / mr2 in front) 17x9 in. wheels allfour corners (4x4.5 bolt / 3 in. backspace / 0 zero offset ) maybe someone out there is running this setup. I'm just wondering if it will work. I've been getting home too late so I'm not sure what specs the wheel manufact. may suggest. -Jaime
  10. Sounds like it just might be easier to START your project with a smog-exempt Z?
  11. Do these brake upgrades change your wheel backspace and offset requirements? Just wondering....
  12. Thanks for the sugg. Pete's set-up is sweet. I also did a search of the web site. Not too much info there. I'm really hoping I can use the same wheel dimensions on all corners. I'm going to call DAZZ tomorrow or Mon. and see what they recommend. I'll keep ya posted.
  13. Thanks guys. Actually the wheels I'm ordering will be imported through DAZZ. I just wanted to get some spec's to match up with their spec's for the 240 to be sure I was ordering the right wheels. They don't really calculate your application with susp. mods. Thanks guys!
  14. Anyone out there using 17x9 wheels on a 240? Here's my situation. I plan on usind ground control coil-overs with sectioned struts. I don't plan on having the car extremely low maybe just 2-2.5" (from sectioning). What I'm looking for: OFFSET requirements for this application & BACKSPACE for this application. The standard 4x4.5 BOLT PATTERN will remain. Hopefully someone out there is already running this same setup on a 240.I plan on special ordering custom wheels and I won't be able to return them if the spec's are off! Thanks! Oh yeah, I 'm hoping to be able to have the same spec's for all four corners to make rotation a whole lot easier.THX.
  15. GEE. @ 450HP I would've slipped it the tounge. Sounds bad ass!
  16. Yeah, and if you've got a clutch DON"T pull up on the e-brake while trying to smoke the tires. That only works for front wheel drive.
  17. Ah-Ha! I should have guessed that one. Thanks!
  18. hey guys, what's victoria british? do they have a web site?
  19. I agree. If your suspension is bone stock and you're getting a jolting ride chances are your struts have failed. If you're going to replace them and want your car to handle a little better, i recommend installing Susp/Tech springs while you have it all apart. No sense in adding perf. struts with 30 year-old springs.
  20. I think tweeks stopped doing Z stuff. Everytime I request a catlog from them it's for Porshce parts.
  21. Sweet. Thanks Tomahawk. It just dawned on me that Concord Driveline Serv. is on the way to work for me. I bet they can get it for me. I'm going to stop by there tomorrow. If not I'm calling Ore. Thanks again!
  22. Thanks for the reply, Scott. I checked the plastic "boots" that tie the rods together at each pivot point. They seem to be in OK shape. Same as passenger side anyways. So I'm guessing that's not the problem. Also checked the nylon adjusting nut. (I think that's what you were referring to) They both seem to be working correctly also, but I readjusted them anyways according to the Haynes manual which says 0.039-0.079". Both doors seem to open smoother now but I still have the original problem. My guess is one or more of the rods are bent on the door lock mechanism, but I'm not sure. Anyone else experience this problem???
  23. Tomahawk, where did you find the neapco adaptor for that price? I'd like to get one and I'm looking to save as much $ as possible. I know JTR sells it for 50 bucks but if I can find one for less that would be sweet. Thanks!
