  1. Got the engine bay all painted and finished. Getting ready to drop the motor in very soon! Here are a couple of pics of the engine bay.
  2. yah, technically when an A/C compressor dies, you are not only supposed to replace the expansion valve, but also the condenser and evaporator due to the debris form the compressor getting into the system and clogging the new expansion valve. I work for Nissan and we never actually do that. We don't even replace the expansion valve and we have never had a problem. But they do recommend to replace everything.
  3. nice, sounds like a plan. I keep you posted!
  4. DAMN!! I can't believe how perfect yours turned out. Thats exactly what I am going to do. I'll check out the local junk yard and look at the celica one and some other toyota cables and figure out what length will be good. Thanks a bunch for the info! You are the man! Do you get enough leverage out of the mofifyed 240z pedal to open the throttlebody all the way?
  5. Thanks a bunch russ! I wasn't sure on what route to go on the throttle cable, so you helped me out a bunch. Your build up has been a huge help for me as well as an inspiration. Any idea on what years were the series 5 celicas?
  6. I wish my car was done up as nice as yours bro!!
  7. spent hours completely sanding and smoothing the engine bay. Got it primered and pretty much ready for paint. Here is the new hole in the correct spot for the 1jz harness grommet
  8. I am just doing the welding and engine bay stuff (paint) before the motor goes in. I have a spot on cement that I will move the car to when the engine is ready to drop in.
  9. their were only two, the front sump pan and the mid sump pan. People say the rear sump, but is the same thing as the supra mid sump pan.
  10. some new pics, welded the new crossmember in, and just cleaning up the engine bay before paint. The engine bay has been seem welded and got rid of all of the factory wire harness holder clamps, cannot stand the look of them. Got rid of the big holes on the firewall that will not be used so I can make a new one for my 1jz harness to be in the correct location. And yes I will not be running a heater in this car.
  11. Got some new pics for you guys. I made the mount for the fuel cell. It is a Summit Racing 16 gallon tank with foam, a 2" sump, and sending unit. Its all done but I am currently now finishing putting sheet metal on the top to make it look clean. The sump hangs about 1" from the bottom of my dented up roll pan.
  12. yes it is a very noisy motor. The injectors are also very noisy on the qr25. The only good thing about the motor is that It is pretty good on leaks. They don't tend to leak that much. I have seen a couple of torque converter seals leak and a couple of front covers leak with high mileage, but thats it.
  13. the car is setup to just be a badass street car to dominate the high class Italian sports cars around where I live.
  14. this car will have no AC or power steering, and I am replacing my hydrofan setup with an mk4 waterpump with electric fans. Actually the motor is not as big as it looks:p
  15. well not quite that easy. The later style round supra mounts will work on the 2jzgte install kit, but the stud on the bottom of the mount uses a 17mm nut while the 2jz mount uses a 19mm nut, so the stud is a little smaller. You can use the 89+ mounts fine ,just use a big washer at the bottom to accompany the smaller stud. If you want to use 2jz mounts on a 1jz or 7mgte like I did, you will have to grind off the little offset locking pin on the motor mount so it will allow it to bolt up.
  16. Here are some pics of the snail for the 1jz Full t4 60-1 fully custom with ceramic coated exhaust housing, billet backing plate, and polished compressor housing. This will replace my t3/t4 60-1 that I was running previous. the boost will come on a lot smoother with this turbo. Here are some pics of the intercooler....
  17. I pulled this motor out of my supra, because I hated the way it handled and it was a heavy boat. One of my buddies offered me good money for the rolling chasis.
  18. Here are some more pics Factory L26 engine mounts cut out stripping the engine bay for new paint and crossmember THE BEAST!! spare tire well removed for fuel cell
  19. I got the 1jz out of the supra on the weekend. Here are some pics My 2jz mounts on the 1jz, good for 1000hp
  20. yes the newer mounts will bolt to an older engine, but you need the newer style brackets to bolt them to the block.
  21. I also work for Nissan and we see so many headgaskets, throttle chambers, crank sensors, fuel pumps, and cats go bad. We also see the powervalve screws come apart and take the motor out. But the worst thing about that motor, is that we see a lot of oil consumption. A couple of years they were produced with bad piston rings and they burnt oil. They have a recall to test the crank case pressure, to determine if the motor needs to be replaced. Since then they have worked out that problem on the new qr25's. I have seen at least 5 Altimas throw rods out the block due to oil loss. I honestly hate that motor.
  22. got the l26 out of the 260z. The 1jz is coming out of the Supra on Sunday. Going to paint the engine bay before it goes in. Here are a couple of pics of some goodies. I'll post some more this weekend. I am going to do a detailed writeup. Beta Motorsports 2jzgte crossmember New fuel cell with bosch 044 pump and braided stainless lines and AN fittings the new painless harness for my interior/accessories
  23. I have a 74' 260 and looking to mount that bumper on Z.
  24. Just wondering what rear bumper this car has. Is it from an early 240z? It seems to fit very tight on the rear unlike others I have seen.
