Thanks Larry. Ill pm someone next time. I personally didn't put the L28 in there, the previous owner did. And I told the guy about the L28 in there and he was like "oh neat." It was like he acted like my Z was in mint condition, I mean shes in great shape, but she does have her fair share of miles. 243,xxx on the body.

I know this is a re-post, but I don't know how to delete the other one, I put it in the wrong forum tab. Awhile ago I took my 240z to Starbucks and it was all washed up and looking good and this guy in the Air Force comes up and he asked me what year my 280 was. I informed him that it wasn't a 280, it was a 240. So I went outside and showed em the car and popped the hood told him it had a rebuilt 280z engine with a 5 speed, cam, and an Arizona Z Car 4 barrel carb. We talked for a little bit, and he told me that he wanted a 240 for a long time. He liked it a lot and then he left in his new Mustang. Cool guy, right? I saw him again today and he asked me how my Z was. I told him that I was going to put my LS1 in it in a few months, and he continued to tell me that that was a "stupid idea" and that it "would ruin the value of the car forever." He then insisted a few times on telling me he would to buy it off of me (like it was for sale or something) if I was going to do that because of how dumb it was... He said "If you want to go fast, go buy a 5.0 foxbody for 5g's and race that around. Awesome! That was the end of that haha. Some people floor me I swear.

Seriously, sounds pretty nice to me if theres no rust. If you had pics, that would be awesome. And if you slapped a decent HP Ford V8 in there, your Z would be like "bye bye '04 Cobra"

Yeah, that car would be a nice one to have especially if its that rare. Clifton, I saw your Z on Arizona Z Car's website. It looks good!

Are you going to just rebuild it? Or build it for performance?

Wow, I bought bumper number 1, and I should have gotten bumper number 2. I bought from that seller too off ebay. Luckily it didnt ship or anything yet, I had to shoot them an email just now to see if they can swap it over to the correct one. Thank god I looked at this post! Phew

When I am driving my Z at night, guage lights that light up my speedo and rpm's are really faint, making it difficult to read my speed. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem too? I want to get the lights replaced. Is that something thats not hard to do? Or should I find and electrician?

Im 18 as well, I dont daily drive my 240z, in fact I havent driven her in a few weeks. I DD my 2006 Cobalt SS, and yes, the 240z right now is the coolest thing ever. I absolutely love it!

Haha yea, I agree on the 90 day CD. From my experience with our GTO a good tune and possibly nitrous. A guy in phoenix I know has a cammed, nitrous, + his own tune (he tunes for AZ Power and Sound) and its pretty crazy. He also has a ~900 rwhp street tune Camaro that he built.

Hey everyone I have been looking on the forums quite a bit and I figured that I would post now. I have a 1973 240Z Engine: Datsun 280Z engine w/ 5 speed Crane Cam and Ignition Arizona Z car 4 barrel carburetor 30,000 Miles on Overhaul -I have original 240z engine with 4 speed, 40k on engine overhaul. But, my goal for June-July of '08 is to get our LS1 w/ D1SC Prochrager into the car. My ultimate goal for this car is to make it look fantastic and almost original on the outside, and angry as hell under the hood. I will take pictures of the car soon and post them.
