  1. Thanks. I was going to fit the fender flares too, but I am having a hard time figuring out the fitment for the front ones? They really aren't labeled and either direction you fit them, its hard to say they really fit well.

I want to do fender flares on my 280z bad. I can't wait to see those carbon fiber ones on your's. It will make me go get some for mine.

  2. I went out and looked at the ones I have, and discovered I have a couple different oil pick ups in my parts bin (L6, rb?). I'm pretty sure I saved mine (didn't use it). Would you know what it looks like exactly?

If you could take a picture of what you have.I could tell you which one is the rb26 pick up

    Thanks

  3. Hey Pat I see you still making pans. Its looking good. Hey I will let you know about those mounts in the coming week. I may need another pan also but it maybe for a q45 or titan engine. I am getting a z31 so I am thinking about putting the RB25 in it and a V8 in the Z32 preferrably a titan engine. So I figure if you can reverse the pans on those I could sit them lower in the car and use the stock Z mounts on them. Just an idea for now. But I will know about the mounts as soon as I put this RB bellhousing on my z32 tranny and do some test fitting. I still need to make my dipstick tube a little bigger but I think I will try and rim it out. It does not need to be too much bigger. Its just not snug at all.

I would be happy to make you another pan. Just let me know. Keep me updated on the mounts also. The titan engine in the z32 would be badass. The dipstick Idea sounds like it would work. Just make sure you seal it up with some of that sealant I gave you.

  4. Any pictures of the inside of the pan? Also, is the front part of the pan level or is a sloped to let the oil drain back into the sump?

The engine sets in the engine bay at a slant. The exhaust side sets lower than the intake side in turn making the engine set at a slant. So the oil will naturally drain back into the pan.the bottom of the pan sits at a slope. One side of the pan is lower than the other. I can get more pics later.

Let me know if you have anymore questions

    thanks

    Patrick

  5. Looking good, missing the drain plug would definately suck haha.

I will soon be possibly making my own pan for my RB20DET swap in the next few months.

How long did it roughly take you to get as far as you are with that pan?

Still on the fence if I really want to take the time to make a pan or just send my dimensions to our drag boat oil pan fabricator and have him make me a few

I have about 6-8 hours into it now but my brother was over and there was alot of BSing going on and some beer drinking. I have built a couple of these so far and I have made templates of each sheetmetal cuts. My first one took me forever to do. Now it's getting easy. I have all the sheetmetal tools to make life easier. I love my plasma cutter,it's like a hot knife through butter.
