Nope, sure dont. They are the photographer's property.. tunerzine paid him to use them on their site soooo, that being the case he's not too willing to hand out high res pictures, not even to me lol. I might can get some low res ones, im prolly just gonna order some prints.

Heh yeah I posted in in non tech. Thats awesome that you found it though, I didnt know if many people checked out that site or not. I think its a pretty neat thing, there definitly some cool cars on there. Car is doing good, away at college again so not to much happening with it... that may be a good thing Shes done for the most part for now though. Just a few more tuning and engine mods I want to do. -Austin

i think that is jsut about hte sickest car I have ever seen. So tasteful and clean in every way.
-
So let me see here. You spent a ton of time on body work and rust, and you shot the car with epoxy primer... but you didnt want to spend 80 bucks for a gallon of single stg PPG or nason paint? I can see saving money... but 50 bucks? Oh well look nice at any rate from the pictures! Lots of work there.

Im running a Competition Clutch Stg 4 sprung 6 puck clutch, rated at 550ft/lbs +. It sure grabs, but I wouldnt like it for a daily driver. I also had alot of trouble getting hte hydrolics to work right. I think if i was building a daily driver I too would be inclined to go with the heavy duty pressure plate and street orgnaic disc. Thats what we are putting in Matt's car... hopefully see how that goes soon.

yes. I have a carbon hood so i chouldnt use them anyway. But they should work with my i/c.
-
I want to see some pictures the hood! I heard about the car through Drew who goes to the same school as me.
-
hahah I dunno, I think they are actually pretty cool. Actualy some technology there haha. If I had a huge suv and an extra 20K laying around i would mount a set up lol.
-
Hey Phil, I got pretty much the same core as you do. Except i got the 4" thick one. Either way both are over kill lol. I tried several ways to tryand fit my i/c without having to mod it. I tried tight radious 90 degree transition elbows, mandrel pipe etc. Nothing worked out for me. No matter what it was still too wide to work out right. You might could get creative and run the piping down low or through the fenders, but there again i didnt feel comfortable with the piping down there. Heres a picture of how I ended up doing mine... I think it turned out awesome, it also brings all the connections into the engine bay which makes servicing really easy. I used some tight radious aluminum mandrels.... if you did this though the mandrel would be more then your i.c lol! Im actually thinking about selling my setup sometime as I want to to a single sidded setup.. but this works well

JustinOlson - What next... eh... I dunno. Im back in school again for the year so tings will definitly slow down a bit. I have a few things in mind but I am jsut going to enjoy hte car for a while. The next mods will most likely be... a new chip for the my SDS so I can datalog and use wideband o2 directly with the system, arp rod bolts, zgad or similar cam, and methanol injection. Im also working on my own z32 tranny adaptor at the moment which hopefully wil be the next thing to get finished but we all know how long machine work takes... bubbles - I hope I can make it to SEZ its looking kinda iffy right now, but if i go Ill be sure to line up with you . And Matt is right they are Watanabe center caps Thanks again for the comments guys.

Yea lol I never post on there, they pissed me off soooooo bad. Thank god for hybrid z, we actually have a good website where people are intelligent and willing to help. Mr. Insane. My distributor is jsut removed and a block off plate put in its place. The drive spindle for the dizzy also turns your oil pump so you cant really remove it unless youre runnign dry sump. Alot of aftermarket engine managment systems allow you to convert to coil packs.

Thanks for the compliments guys! Olderthenme: haha ill write a little story... My sick z car obsession started a while ago lol. I saw a 240z when we were on a trip out-west at a dealership and I asked my dad what it was. I thought it was a ferrari or something. I was still in elementary school then. I never forgot that car and always wanted one. When I turned 14 I bought some books about Datsuns that I found on zcar.com and read up about the different years and models. My dad heard that one of his friends was interesting in selling his 260z he had been working on, but never really got it finished. The car didnt run when we got but we buffed the paint nad fixed up the interior, we ended up installing a set of down draft webers on it to get it running (can you say NOOOOOB). We had fun with the car and drove while I had my permit we drove it around to Z club meetings and shows. That summer I decided to rebuild the suspension after reading alot of posts on Z car.com. I ended up stripping and repainting the suspension pieces, installign new struts, bushings, and doing hte 4x4 brake upgrade. I did all the work myself andd had a blast. this is what hte car looked like at that point: Fast forward a couple months... I found HYBRIDZ muahahhah. After searching around for a while I was in love. I saw scottieGNZ's car when he had the l28 in it and thought about how awesome it would be to do this swap. I had some money I had been saving for a while and decided to start looking for a motor... I found a motor in a local junkyard for 400 bucks and went from them. That winter I tore the motor down cleaned it and prepped my car for the swap. Long story short I ending up with SDS, a rebuilt motor, an NPR intercooler, 370cc injectors.... and an empty bank account. Just in time for my 16th birthday lol.... I had the car on the road a week after I got my license. This was what it looked like when i got done at 16.. then... From there on out it got worse lol. I blew the motor in the first year at the drag strip and completely redid it this time with a t3.t4 turbo and a few more goodies. And the l28 phase 2 at 17: Whithin the next year... well lets jsut say the car was gone. The day I wrecked it: It hit something large and hard and met its end. My parents tried to convince me to get a more practical car something newer and nicer. but I couldnt give up and after several months searching I ended up with my current 240z which I have spent the last 2 years or ther abouts working on constantly.... When I first got it: hehe so anyway thats my story sorry for the long post

Anyone used Jim Wolf/Arias forged pistons?
240hoke replied to BayAreaZT's topic in Turbo / Supercharger
I think a good many people have gone to 89mm, prolly jsut wanna get the block checked over for cracks when your done. My friend went to 3.2 L on his L motor and ended up cracking the cylinder wall after startup. They determined it was a casting defect that made the wall a little thinner in that spot, and sorced another block.... so far so good. Arias pistons are good shi_t, espeically if they are zero silicon ones. A friend of mine is a distributor and runs Forged internals, he is having very good success with them in his 350z builds. -Austin -
hey man I get online like twice as much when im in college because I dont have a garage ot go out to!! Aight no reason to say bye!

Sweet! Car looks awesome katie, good to see other young people enthusiastic about owning/workin on a z car. Nevermind what these guys are saying about v8's I think you should start your wrenching with a turbo swap . Its easy and will make your car pretty dern fast! Good luck -Austin
-

-
Looks like a cool project. I have always loved those cars.
-
Sounds like what ive had to deal with, except over the phone.....twice as bad.
-
I also remember having better results when the air temps where hotter. It wouldnt wrinkle if it was very cold outside. But at anyrate, i will say that the wrinkle black powder coat eastwood sells works great. I use the stuff whenever i can. Works best to hotcoat the parts out of the oven and you can watch it wrinkle.
-
yes, I have used it. i couldnt get it too work after multiple tries. It wrinkles just not very evenly... i gave up on it. Talk to prox i think he used the stuff for his motor.
