  1. they arent worth crap there for the most part... dont know if you know about japanese tax laws and road laws and such but the older a car is.. the more of a pain in the ass it is to own it.

think about it.. some guy from america goes to japan.. buys a running good condition low mileage 180sx with an sr in it.. say 97 model. cuts it in half.. brings it back here to america.. removes the engine, harness, and tranny.. sells it for roughly 2500 bucks.. and is making a profit... just think about it. youd be shocked what a decently mileaged nsx, supra, gtr, evo, sti goes for over there.

Nice find....did ya get that from some poor American that spent his life savings on mods and then had to roatate and found out he couldnt take it with him...lol? Thats the only thing I hate about certain cars here...if your not gonna stay here forever its all money down the drain. You of course made out big time.

It is funny how cheap used cars are here and I dont get it. The Japanese could be making a mint if the culture was anything like the states. Hell you cant even buy a POS NEON with 110K on it for 5 grand...lol. My Aristo in mint condition and only 60K when I bought it with twin turbo 2JZ was only

2K....WTH? Enjoy it while you can right!!! Congrats on the find..

  2. As far as I am aware, there is no Japan-based website where you can download a PDF of the C10 or C110-series Skyline factory parts lists. There will be a very good reason for that........

Replica / reprint C10 and C110 parts manuals are available in hard copy form, but you have to PAY for them ( and they are not cheap! ). I believe that the producers of these manuals got permission from Nissan, as the originals are still covered by Nissan's copyright.

So I'd urge you to proceed with caution before putting anything up on a site for download. You might at the very least want to find out who made the PDF files and put them on a disc in the first place.

Enough already I get it...anyone wanting more info PM me..:icon14:

  3. I would advise you to seek Uchida san's permission before you make anything of his available on a download.

The PDF format didnt come from Victory. It is a copy from the original manuals with pics in Japanese however. But the part numbers and pics coincide so shouldn't be a problem to figure out. This is a NISSAN OEM parts list not after market.

  4. Short nose R200 and R230 front mounts are highly sought after but no one has produced anything...just ideas and one was produced but never duplicated as far as I know. I am sure they would sell if they were strong and tested before selling them..... I want 3.....:D

  5. Wow I made some nice contacts today at the Zama Auto hooby shop. There is a Hakosuka specialty shop in Tokyo at http://www.victory50.com/index2.html and I have the disk in PDF format for all the Hakosuka and Ken Meri parts list. Should I post in the doenload section if possible? Im stoked. They have a kit from the R32 Skyline that will fit the Hakosuka for front and rear disk brakes, adjustable shocks, etc etc..... CLICK THE SECOND LINE ON THE MENU FROM THE LEFT SIDE FOR PARTS AFTERMARKET ETC.

Oh here is my friends car's home page he has here in Zama... http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~toyaworks/index.htm

  7. Thanks for the input..was just curious to see what others thought. Well Im going to keep it original. I cant believe how much attention Im getting with car already and Ive only had it a couple of days. The Japanese guys on base are going nuts and Ive been offered money to sell already. Damn.... It looks awesome with the Watanabes and YES I will take pics soon. Im home for the weekend and it has not been tagged yet. Got a years worth of insurance today $275. So heres what I have on order coming soon:

    Blaster Coil

    Mallory Unilite Dist

    New PLugs

    Arizona Z 4 Barrel Intake

Holley 390 CFM Carb (might need to de jet since its an L20)

    Header

That will ensure I dont get stranded somewhere. The engine is in great shape but the original carb scares me...a little warming up needed to drive right. Im sure the dist is going to go sooner or later so the change is coming soon....I dont like points.

I hope Nissan still has the brake calipers and drums and rotors for this car cause I will want to buy new everything before I come back so I wont have to worry about repairs for awhile. Engine and tranny is same as the Z so no worries there. Will want a R200 I suspect. Ok let me be quiet..Im starting to dream again....:D

  8. As some of you may know I am now the owner of a 1971 Hakosuka GT. It has an L20 engine with point distributor and Ballist resistor etc. I want to upgrade and get rid of the points and resistor. I need some advice on what a good system would be to include Distributor, Coil and ignition box. I am thinking Mallory Unilite and blaster coil to start? Can I add MSD to that setup without pulling my hair out? Any other advice would be much appreciated. I have decided to stay with the L series engine in this one and will get an L28 to drop in when I return to the states. Ill get all the bolt on goodies here and just transfer to the L28 Later. I am going to run Dave's Holley intake for the 4 barel conversion and a header so I just need to get a good ignition system in there. Advise away......:D

  9. :iagree:

He is teasing us. Anyways here is another reason I hate Yahoo auctions Japan. We will have to suffice with this 4-door fix for now.

Ok I'm done waiting Terry :toetap05:

I cant wait either! Car comes tomorrow and rims came today! It may be this weekend before I can get pics...I do want to get the new rims on before I snap any as these advans just dont compare to the Watanabes IMHO. Oh yeah I am tinting the windows too before the weekend so it should look pretty fancy. Im getting the rear and front spoiler painted black along with the front/rear grill and fender mirrors. Should accent real well. So do I go rice and pit the GTR badges on it or just stay with the GT badges....let the flames begin....

  10. When I had my BNR32 and then later my 72 GTX I only needed to get the Kai stamp on the registration after I added the roll cages or overfenders. Only other reasons I can remember are for engine size changes or adding of a turbo. I ran triple carbs, L28, header, cage and overfenders on my GTX all with a Kai stamp with no hassles or problems.

I was woindering if anyone has cut open the rear fender wells on a 71 4 door to be able to add over fenders and wider tires? I dont think I will because I want to keep this one for show only but has it been done to your knowledge?

    Terry

  11. Roger that..well it has almost 2 years sha-ken left on it so that wont be a problem. Yeah the R32s are a dime a dozen here and that would be so fun to have but I cant take it back with me:confused2 I cant wait to start turning wrenches again however and hope I can mint this one out in three more years before I go back. I saw a 73 celica this weekend at the same shop that was going for around $8000 or so. It was in exellent condition and had some extras on it as well. They had a Ferrri 328 1978 in mint condition for only 33K...wow I couldnt believe that one...too bad I dont like them as much or I would have been all over it....seems cheap to me but looked awesome.

  12. let see the new box car!!

Mike it gets delivered tomorrow morning! My Watanabes come today!! All I have to do is get the title changed over and tags/insurance and Im done! Should be driving by Wed or thurs. Question, if I put headers on it, will that hender getting my Sha-ken next year or do they even care anymore? Headers shouldnt mess with emissions output should it? If so I will have to wait for this term to run out get a new Sha-ken done then modify before I go back to the states I guess. Im still looking for a decent L28 too...any ideas?

    Terry

  13. any idea how much shipping to okinawa is?

Shipping for what Mike? Cars are like $400 or so to Naha POrt I think...or are you talking about the wheels? My car will be delivered next Tuesday! Ill go check out AutoBachs or Yellow Hat for the rim info....Im pretty stoked. Oh, where can I get a L28 for a resonable price? The old Skyline will def need it to drive around...that L20 is pretty dag gone slow....I rememebr well from back in the days....hahahahahahahahaha.

  14. Watanabe themselves recommend the following sizes for the GC10:

    F: 6j x 14 ( +21 offset )

    R: 6j x 14 ( +16 offset )

    or

    F & R: 6j x 15 ( +18 offset )

or specifically for the PGC10 ( GT-R ) which might fit your GC10:

    F: 6.5j x 15 ( +19.5 offset )

    R: 7j x 15 ( +21 offset )

But of course if yo want to go for bigger diameter and/or more negative offset you are going to need to look at the variables of tyres and suspension too.

Regarding the ignition switch - are you talking about just the switch unit itself as opposed to the complete switch / key housing / steering lock unit? If it is just the switch then I believe it might well be the same as an S30-series Z of the same year production.

The S30 Z and C10 Skyline steering lock and switch assemblies have different part numbers. Your GC10 would have had 48700-R0101 ( watch out for the GT-R part number, as it is quite different ) but I'm sure you could buy just the switching unit on its own from a specialist.

Now that you have bought the GC10, I really recommend that you invest in one of the repro factory Parts Lists and a repro factory Workshop Manual. The parts list on its own will save you hours of lost time and headscratching.

Wow!! Thanks buddy!!! I appreciate it!!! I think Ill go with the 15 inch rims and go price em tomorrow!

    Terry

  15. oh man, that sounds awesome! what do you think shipping would be?

I would think $100 or less total will cover rims and shipping...I can check once I get one boxed etc... I have the money for the new rims but I gotta find out what the size and offset is first.

  16. hyaku ju go man en????????? choooooooo yasui yo!? I need to ship one of those down to okinawa. :-)

I'm looking at getting an R32 GT-R from mainland shipped down here to "hold me over" while my S30 sits in the back yard under a tarp.

Might hold off on building the Z till after I buy a house here.

Well Im glad to hear that!! I thought it was a good price too. Ill get it delivered next Tues. By the way, I want some Watanabes for it but dont know the backspacing or width etc...any ideas? Also do you know if the ignition switch is the same as a Z for the hakosuka?

    Terry

  17. Terry, what are you going to do with those Advans?
Hey they are yours if I can find some watanabes to replce. These are 14s however....I am trying to find out the offset so I can order some...Ill know more next week. Do you want them? $50 plus shipping sound fair?

  18. I hope to get a g-nose this weekend. I have a copy of the Works body kit already. Yahoo auctions and I are real close friends. Body kit does not even remotely come close to fitting in the front without the g-nose belly pan. Now if I can only find the damn hinges....Post pics of that 4dr when you get it. The pic looked like a 72 (47) model based on the grille and front fender lights. Same year as mine. Cool

Well went to see the car and get final delivered price etc. The car is very clean inside and looks great. Outside is excellent as well and only 1 or 2 small rust spots I could see. Under carriage had been coated recently. hAS FRONT SPOILER and needs to be mounted. I dont like the ADVAN rims but black Wantanabes are a dime a dozen and will only run me about $400 for 4. I plan on painting the rear wing, front spoiler and mirrors, front and rear grill black and tint side and rear windows LIMO black. That should clean up the profile lots. All is left now is to get the loan and wire the money before it sells. The engine is an L20 and single down draft carb. That means no power but I will be looking for an L28 in the mean time for a quick fix. The car is a 1971 according to the paperwork. There was another one there with Mikunis and a little more rad but no inspection and I dont need any hassels with that. Oh this one also has the Camber plates on front so thats a plus. Its a 4 speed too and R180 rear. Will need to locate a R200 to swap in. Anyone want an L20 when I get back, maybe we can trade something....anyhoot dont wanna get too excited yet.....until the money is wired.....more to come and pics when I get to Fuji....

Total price to include tax, disposal fee (japanese thing), and delivery to Fuji is $10,350.00 not too bad if you ask me...now at least I can pour money into it and not have to worry about not taking it with me when I leave...SAWEEEET!
