I am interested in this one...not a GTR but I like. What do you guys think? Its only $11,000. The GTRs are almost double that. This one is a GT. Should I?

  4. I still need to build an underscoop that will duct air up through the bottom of the intercooler (I've got the tray I'm going to use with the two air inlets, but that's as far as I've gotten). I pretty much mothballed it for the duration of my master's program, so I don't expect to see any progress until that's over. It's 16 months or so. I might end up being more of a neighbor than you'd think, evidently there is a lot of video game production being done in Austen, TX...

MAX Im liking your car more and more everytime I see it!! Thats just neat!

  5. Clearance is between 1/4 and 1/2". I'll be test driving them till Monday to look for any issues. The car seems to track better but that may be all in my head...:-)

    LARRY

WooHoo Larry those should give you plenty of traction. Thats the exact same rim and Tire I ran there. The fender will sit down on your tire and smoke like hell if the fender doesnt totally clear when she squats. I had to cut up the fender a little but I have over fenders so not noticeable. I remember when I was testing them I could smoke em for about a quarter mile..I thought wow i gained 300 HP by changing to MTs hahahaha. Actually it was the tire being ate up by the fender squat...Still looked pretty cool...lol. MIne is a 240 and the 280 my provide more clearance...let us know!!!

  6. Yes Jon.........the tag belongs to me...whoopee...so what...but not the TransAm. It has for 13 years! Should your wife be the true investigator she would have found that the tag last belonged to a 1999 Chevy Camaro Z28....and not a 2002 Pontiac TransAm WS6 that I drove for the first time on the show.

This is the same Camaro that was also on the show that I sold to Andy Prine a while back. I only put the tag on the WS6 for old time’s sake like when I used to race the Camaro at our local track. The car I drove on the show belongs to Orvall McClelland. Sheesh........and yes...that’s a HE.

Also, just to set the facts straight, we were asked to be on the show and were told that all we needed was a door car that would run faster than 14:00 in a ¼ with NO decals. If we were to have known we could have had decals all over the car....we would not have brought the STOCK WS6. We had many other options, but didn’t want to have to remove all of the contingency decals only to have to put them back on right away for the next race.

So if you’re going to tell a story......please at least get it right!! Thanks! JJJ

    ...and PS....thought you said your car couldn’t run 9’s? Doesn’t that make you a .......................? J lol

In my world of drag racing....we don't have to cheat to WIN!!:rolleyesg:rolleyesg

If sticking up for yourself when you know someone is sandbagging is being a Beeeeotch.........fine so be it. I came on the show to RACE...which you can do....if the other person doesn't feel the need to cheat...or hold. So I said your car could run in the 9's...and your shook your head no. Then you pick up a half a second on the last round? That's why I called you a lying sack of "sh*t"...and only that reason. I knew you could go faster...and so did you. :ass:

When you are ready for a real drag race....come to an NHRA or IHRA event...and look me up. I think it would be great! :)

    Lets move on people..a L is an L and a W is a W.....to each his/her own strategy....don't l;ook back just straight forward.....good luck to all..

  7. I don't know, I look at it with an open mind an try not to compare it to what it looks like or what it doesn't. It just looks decent to me. I think the nose is a little bit squished but other than that I like how they handled the major body lines.

Oops forgot to say Im a fan of anything that looks like a Z or skyline but seems like alot of cars are following the same aero style these days..wonder the price will be.

  8. I finally have this thing out of the garage after 2+ years of doing body work! I put the tranny back in last night and earlier today and back it out of the garage! She doesn't run very good right now but that should change after I get TunerCat up and running!

Guy looks awesome! Hey get some Armor All on those tires!!!!

  9. Guess I have been through too many 7+'s.

I think the difference in Japan is that all the buildings damn near touch each other and most houses are built so weak that I could probably knock one down myself. When I take a leak in the morning you can hear it 3 blocks down the street the walls are so thin. Thats gotta be the factor why so much more destruction happens here than most places I guess.

    CZ:)

  10. So here's the results of my dyno run this morning.

    570Z_Dyno.jpg

Not exactly what I hoped for, but not too shabby. I have plenty of Torque, close to 400 ft/lbs, but I was hoping for 400 hp as well.

I still have a stumble under load that's really causing me a lot of frustration. Every time I think I have it solved, it's not. Since I don't know what the problem is I don't know if it's affecting my numbers, but it sure does affect driving it on the street.

Bartman, if that is basically a 5.7 liter (same as a 350) NA then those numbers are quite good I think. Hell thats 383 numbers for RWHP! I think ZFAN is running those numbers on his 383 build and runs 10s in the 1320! Not bad at all.
