  2. Oh, I knew you were a baller Terry, but I didn't know you had it like that with three project cars! Answer me this: are any of them on three spoke wheels, or was my opinion of your taste all wrong after all?

No three spokes yet, I reserved that for my old 190E back in the days...hehehe. Hey ya gotta have a stereo that plays music with some bass to roll the three spokes!!! I dont have a stereo in the cars yet...:icon45:

  3. Which one of those 4 diffs are you going with, the R230? the other ones must be for ballast...wish I had 4 diffs (I think mine's busted...)

Max, Im gonna put the LSD Long R200 in my Black 240. Gonna put the Aluminum brace setup in the Orange 280 to style it up since its a show car basically. Ill use the R230 in the new build preferably if someone ever makes a mount or Ill just install everything and go get it done at a competent race shop. I just want my new LS1 wide body to have the strongest parts available so all the heavy duty stuff will be for the new build. Im sure by the time I come back there should be some more options for front mounts for the short R200 or R230. damn this stuff is getting expensive but I wouldnt wanna be doing anything else....its such a rush to create your own ride as you know!

If I decide to make the R230 a permanent install Ill just have a shop weld in some cross beams left to right and tie into the frame on either side and then weld some mounting tabs off the cross beams and be done with it. Ill just need to source a spare R230 but should be plentiful for awhile I expect. I like Cozy's setup too and may just go that route.....decisions....decisions...

  5. Oh cool. How is your son doing? Is he still into it now that he's full time?

He is fine and waiting on his MOS school to start. He said he got paired up with a total dirt bag though in his room assignment...lol. Gotta love those dirt bags....A.K.A. the %10 or turds... He wants to go to Okinawa after school so I think there is a good chance of that...we will see!

His vocabulary has changed alot...lots of F words and such....lol.:rolleyesg

  6. You know we had a guy from NZ the other day say that they can get ARB lockers for the R200. This would be THE KICK ASS DIFF for drag racers, in my opinion. You drive to the track with an open diff. Push a button and its a spool. Do your runs completely locked, then push the button again and drive home. These things are VERY popular with the rock crawling crowd, so I'm sure they'd handle a high hp drag launch. I'd love to see one of you guys try it. I'm guessing it might even be cheaper than a Quaife, you'd probably have to have one ordered from Oz if they're not stocked anywhere in the US.

Great idea, anyone wanna contact them directly and see if they make one for the R200? Heres the links etc...

  7. The pin breakage is very common. I have 3 diffs sitting in storage now with all broke pins. I was wondering if we could fab something better or find a way to keep it from coming loose and breaking. Other than that I never had any problems with the R200 open diffs. I was getting 1.59's and 1.60's on launches and the pin has been the only problem.

  8. Guys/gals, hopefully you can help me out here

The wife and I bought/collected a bunch of stuff that was destined for the troops in Iraq (stuff like sunscreen, snacks, personal hygiene stuff, etc)--originally we were going to take it with us to a collection point in conjunction with a Patriot Guard ride. Well, due to a family emergency, we didn't get a chance to go on the run, so we still have all this stuff ready to ship out. The original collection point has already sent their stuff out, and before I try to find another local collection, I'd like to know if anyone here has a son/daughter/spouse/loved one currently serving over there that wouldn't mind getting a package from someone out of the blue. Since you can no longer just send it to "any soldier", I need a specific address for it to go to (you don't even have to tell them it's coming-might be a nice surprise)

I have enough for probably 2 packages to go out, so the first 2 addresses I get will get the boxes.

If you don't want to post the name/address of family, please feel free to PM me, or email the info to: jim @ jimzdat . com (remove spaces, of course)

    Jim, easy fix...go here:

  9. This “$#!@†of a “$@&^†is “$^&!*" biting “*#&$%†ombrello.gifmannagg.gif …and add a few other colorful metaphors. noway.gif

Not fair. Terry posts a video with a car that has a HybridZ plate, the subject line says it all, and I have to wait till tomorrow AM before I can see it!!!! Our darn satellite is on the fritz right now, windows.gif(DIRECWAY SUCKS!! This happens on occasion for 24 hour stints), so I’m stuck with Dial up at 26.4 Kbps connection speed, till tomorrow AM!!!!

    Larry,

Is the rain affecting you in any way? I’m hearing it should let up for the 4th.

Paul, hahaha....Im still laughing...hopefully you can view soon...my internet service sux too!

  10. Cool and Terry it's still raining in TX. WITH NO END IN SIGHT....

    LARRY

Damn LArry, I hope my house doesnt flood!! That would be my luck! The weeds will take over the city if it doesnt stop!!! (hmmm transformer weeds?)

    TErry

  11. Yeah, the dynamat came with the car. I can yank it out if necessary.

It's the same old story. I started the project a few years back, but around the time the bodywork was being finished I decided to quit my job and go back to school. The car then proceeded to sit in my family's garage due to the lack of expendable income to throw at it.

After I got out of school and started working full time again, I reached a crossroads where I could either continue throwing money into the Datsun, or buy a car I could drive now. I opted to buy a C5, so the Z has to go. :-(

My number is 574-612-8985 if anybody wants to set up an appointment or anything.

Im still interested if we can find a way to ship....Im in Japan and need help!!!! lol.

  12. You have a link for those :D ?? I tried to navigate their site, but it wasn't working for me at the time . . . (?)

    Their number is:

Please call 1-800-798-4585 and ask for Eric and he will personally handle your needs.

Don't know why I said drive train industries....Site is:

    http://powertrainindustries.com/

    Terry...

P.S. Not a bad idea to get both in case it comes in handy in the future...

  13. Wow! thanks guys....Im definately sold now. My biggest reason was ease of install, saving money to have others do stuff and keeping it simple...we all remember that saying right (KISS). I wanna install, hook up the battery and go so this will allow me to do almost that without stressing too much. As far as power, I dont think a carbed LSX 472 will have any problem in that category...

....still planning and collecting...oh and case anyone didnt know...I just got my drive shaft flanges for the Q45 and R230...cheap now from Power train industries...

    Infinity is 3102-69: $64.08

    R230 is 3102-42: $78.90
