  1. Hm... well I've got a 406 Aluminum Rodeck/Brodix motor. The block alone is about a 100lbs. lighter than a iron sbc. Combine it with a competition T-5 from G-Force, then it could be used in a road race prepared 240Z. That should weigh-in as lite if not lighter than a L6 240. Any takers? Mikelly? Mark
  2. Longfellow Like I said, you can use 79 thru 83 280ZX calipers, granted the 82 -83 calipers are a better choice being that they are larger. So what you do is buy 82-83 calipers from your Autozone and pay the core charge and then take the 79 calipers back to collect your core charge. The brackets are what your really looking for right? They alone are worth $100, I was throwing in the 79 calipers as a bonus. The offer still stands so let me know. Denny411 is correct reguarding matching rotors and calipers. Mark
  3. What you are looking for are 80 to early 82 Maxima rear caliper brackets that bolt-on, then you use 79- 83 280ZX rear rotors and calipers. I have a pair of these Maxima brackets and a pair of used 79 280ZX calipers that you could rebuild or use as a core. I'll be going to a "live axle" rearend because of the power I'll making, so I have no need for these brackets or calipers and would part with them for $100 cash. If you or anybody else is interested, e-mail me. Mark p.s. These brackets are rare and hard to find, took me over a year!
  4. Look at it this way jeffp, "Your a true hotrodder!" Mark p.s. Look for the "G-Force T-5 Update" for pricing!
  5. The word I got from them is their working on a upgraded "magnesium case" that will be stronger and lighter! Mark
  6. Ditto, site didn't remember me this morning either. Thought I was a guest? Mark
  7. Hm... sounds like "user error" or maybe "too many buttons" j/k Dan Any luck with the proposal? Mark
  8. Ok, I called G-Force today for info and pricing so here goes... KITS: This assumes you already have a WCT-5! Synchronized/Helical-cut gear kit is $950 Good to 600HP/500TQ Dog-ring/Straight-cut gear kit is $1300 Allows "speed-shifting" Labor to convert your WCT-5 $200 Complete Transmissions: They supply everything! Synchronized/Helical-cut gears $1945 Again, Good to 600HP/500TQ Dog-ring/straight-cut gears $2295 Again, Allows "speed-shifting" UPGRADES: 9310 Mainshaft $295 4340 Mainshaft $495 Street Gear ratio's: 1st 2.94, 2nd 1.94, 3rd 1.34, 4th 1.00, 5th .59!!! RoadRace ratio's: 1st 2.46, 2nd 1.54, 3rd 1.22, 4th 1.00, 5th .89 I spoke with the assemblers (they answered the phone) and they assured me that all new parts are used and that the HP/TQ numbers are conservative! Their test-mule vehicle was tuning low 10's in the 1/4 mile with no failures. If anyone has any questions, ask for "Bubba" or "Ash" at 717-867-4352 http://www.g-forcetransmissions.com Mark
  9. Sprintcar racing is big in Northern California and if you search the local tracks and/or talk with those involved, you can find a used Sprintcar motor for pennies on the dollar! I did! Mark
  10. If a aluminum block is what your after? Then you want what I'm building, a all-aluminum Rodeck motor! The blocks new are about $5K but they weigh 100lbs. less than a iron block. This is the same block the "Outlaw Sprint car" guys run and they are making over 800HP! Slap on a great set of aluminum heads and your real lite in weight. These blocks can withstand over 1200HP with the right parts! I'm lowering my compression ratio to 10:1 so I can run pump gas. but I should still be able to easly get 600HP with the Brodix heads I've got. Mark
  11. Yeah I couldn't find a price for their T-5 kit or complete trans either. I guess someone needs to call. But if the kit is reasonable, picking up a used or trashed T-5 is easy and cheap! And rebuilding them is straight-forward when using a rebuild video. A T-5 weighs about 75lbs. DRY! and it has to be one of the smoothest shifting manuals when properly set-up. Mark
  12. G-FORCE is marketing a version of the T-5 that they claim can handle 600hp or 500ft lbs of torque in a 3300lb. vehicle running drag radials. This could be a viable option for high hp Z's. http://www.g-forcetransmissions.com Mark
  13. Here's are some links Mike http://www.jericoperformance.com http://www.g-forcetransmissions.com Check out G-force's Upgraded T-5 they claim can handle 600HP or 500 lbs. of torque in a 3,300 lb. vehicle Liberty Gear doesn't have a web site that I know of, but their phone number is 313-278-4040. Their G-101 is rated to handle up to 1000HP and 14,000 rpm. If that is not enough : their clutchless five-speed can withstand 2400HP in a 3000 pound car! Mark
  14. Don't tell them Dan! If they want to see it, they can come to the show! or They can wait as we admire and gloat over it! Mark
  15. Brett, are you going to make it to Nor Cal HybridZ Show & Swap? You can always tow it there Mark
  16. The Ford 8.8 is a outstanding rear-end! Strange Engineering makes a axles in 31 and 33 spline as well as matching Pro Street posi units to boot! Mark
  17. My engine builder asked if I knew of anyone who would be interested in purchasing this. Its a Ford 600 CID SVO drag race motor he built for a customer that has "stiffed" him. He just wants to sell it to break even on the deal. Here goes... 1- Fully prepared Ford SVO splayed main block 1- Fully prepared Ford/Bryant forged steel stroker crankshaft 8- Bill Miller custom aluminum connecting rods 8- Wiseco custom stroker pistons, 14.5 to 1 compression 1- set Childs & Albert file fit Dura moly rings 1- set Childs & Albert rod bearings 1- set Clevite Micro main bearings 1- Danny B. belt drive timing set 1- Competition Cams custom grind roller camshaft 1- set Crower custom roller lifters with a .903 body 2- Ford SVO C-460 Drag Racing cylinder heads fully ported 1- Ford SVO C-460 Drag Racing intake manifold fully ported 8- Xceldyne custom titanium intake valves 2.450 8- Xceldyne custom titanium exhaust valves 1.850 1- set PSI/Manley drag racing valve springs 1- set Trick titanium valve spring retainers 1- set Manley 10` degree valve keepers 1- set T&D shaft mounted roller rocker arms 1- set Jesel custom pushrods 1- set Ford SVO polished aluminum valve covers 1- Meziere Drag Racing water pump 1- set ARP custom head studs 1- set ARP custom main studs 1- set ARP/ RODECK splayed main bolts 1- set B&B stepped cylinder head torque washers 1- FMS drag racing haemonic balancer 2- SCE copper heads gaskets 1- Melling M84DHV oil pump 1- Custom Moroso oil pan Estimated HP is over 1,100 This motor is "NEW" and has never been fired! Over $21,000 in parts alone! Asking $15,000 Serious inquires only! Call Johnson Racing (916) 481-9263 and ask for "Bob" P.S. This is one serious BADAZZ motor! Mark
  18. Hm... well I posted this as a viable option for those of us here that make huge amounts of torque and desire a "real overdrive". The Viper T-56 has a 2.66 first gear that will work great on the street with a Z running 3.36 to say 3.70's. If your gearing is in the 3.90 to 4.10 range, first gear starts to become rather useless, unless your drag racing and/or running a tall/big tire. Also the 6th gear in the Viper T-56 is .50! Mark
  19. According to D&D Performance the input shaft has been changed to allow GM installation. Mark
  20. Hey RacerX, We also make a "Auto Over spray Protector" for auto painters. You going to the Nor Cal HybridZ Event on April 5th? Mark
  21. The Viper T-56 is rated at 550 ft. lbs. of torque, that's 100 lbs. more than the GM LT1/LS1. Mark
  22. As a sales rep for Zep Manufacturing I can say that I sell a Rust Conversion Coating called "Rustarrester". It chemically converts existing rust and corrosion into a moisture-free, black protective coating. The resulting surface is then ready for painting or other treatment without additional priming. We also sell a Rubberized undercoating, sound deadener and corrosion Inhibitor product in a aerosol. If anybody is interested, e-mail me, I can sell just above wholesale! Mark
  23. Ran across this, thought some here might be interested! I am http://www.ddperformance.com/GM%20T56.htm Mark
  24. Mike C. I'm building a 406 Rodeck with a estimated 600+ HP and over 500+ FT lbs. of torque. A Richmond 5 speed will not handle that much power with sticky tires. And besides, 5th gear is still 1 to 1! Thats also the reason I'm tossing the IRS, that and I can't get wide rubber under it without running monster flairs. Yuck! Live axle is the only viable and affordable option I have. Yes a Jerrico would certainly be strong enough, but the gears are a "straight-cut" design and would be a PITA on the street! I want to build a Z that is both ultra quick and has adequate handling and is a pleasure to drive. Mark
  25. Mike C. I agree that a close ratio is great for road racing but sucks on the street, but what I like are the M20 ratios you can get with this Ultra strong 4 speed. First gear is 2.59 so in a Z, being its lite, you could run a 3.54 or even a 3.36 and a fairly tall tire and not dread freeway speeds! As well as retain great off the line quickness! I need a ultra strong manual trans for what I'm building and this looks like a affordable alterative. Mark
