  1. Check out the "SBC High Performance Parts for SALE" in the For Sale forum for a killer deal! Mark
  2. Well, with that kind of power on the street, I'd recommend a aftermarket 4 speed! Say a Jerico D4 or what I'm going to run, a custom Muncie M22. Check-out the May 2002 issue of CarCraft and you will see what I mean. It starts with a re-engineered aluminum "Super case" made by Auto Gear. A cast iron midplate,(not aluminum)and the best part, killer gears by a Italian firm by the name of Antonio Masiero Spa. Four different gear sets to choose from! M22 1st-2.199, 2nd-1.640, 3rd-1.274, 4th-1.00 M22W 1st-2.559, 2nd-1.752, 3rd-1.366, 4th-1.00 M22X 1st-2.199, 2nd-1.506, 3rd-1.174, 4th-1.00 M22Y 1st-2.199, 2nd-1.506, 3rd-1.000, 4th-0.859 No that is not a typo, they do make a overdrive 4 speed. Though I believe that with taller tires, freeway speeds would not be a problem. Hope this helps. www.auotgear.net www.gearzone.net Mark
  3. Well folks, once again I've found what is a sweet deal. One of my accounts has a 406 SBC Aluminum Rodeck Sprint car motor for sale. 400 Rodeck SBC Aluminum block 30 over 3.75" Kryptonite crank 6" Carrillo H-beam rods Brooks Racing Forged 14:1 pistons, the domes can be milled down to make flat tops! Ported Brodix -11 Aluminum heads with down nozzles, thats direct valve injection! Roller cam Roller lifters Stainless steel Comp roller rockers Push rods Rev-kit Stud Girdle Gear Drive This motor would cost you $20K to build new, he's asking $5K! I've seen it and while it is currently disassembled, it appears everything is in great shape. Mark
  4. My Nissan 4X4 P/K has 4.3? gears in the front R180 anyone interested? I'll trade for a set R200 3.36 gears! Mark
  5. I just scoped out the Nitto web site and you can get NT-555R Extreme Drag Radials in a 275/60R15 and 275/50R15's! They are reported to work well on both wet and dry surfaces. Hm, 15X8 wheels with the right off-set and 8" coil-overs might do the trick? I know that Centerline will make a 15X8 4 lug wheel with custom off-sets. I will have the same problem as Darius with my Z. Mark
  6. Well I'm going to be pushing between 550-600HP at the the flywheel so I need as wide a wheel as I can get! Mark
  7. I'm building a very high HP sbc for my 73 240Z and thus I need WIDE wheels and I want to retain a IRS but do not want to run monster flairs. Is possible to relocate the rear struts inboard, say 2"-3" inches while maintaining the same stock strut angle and relative position? For example, widening the rear wheel wells using rear wheel wells out of a donor Z and then mounting the lower strut tube at the spindle by modifing the spindle or mounting it to the lower control arm as some IRS I've seen? I'm just brain storming and don't see why it couldn't be done and If not why? I appreicate any and all serious responses. Mark
  8. I got mine off a 81 Maxima. I believe they were available on 80 thru early 82's. Anyway, what you want are the ones that use the same rotor size as the 79-83 280ZX. Hope this helps? Mark
  9. First, I would re-title your post " Anyone interested in 17" x 8" PanaSports?" Most People here are interested in "WIDER" wheels. So let them know! I would be very interested! Mark

  13. Well when my Z is ready for paint jail it's going to be JET BLACK with a blue pearl in it and a clear coat so it will look like it's a foot thick! Mark
  14. Come-on, do the math! If a stock Z measures 56" hub to hub and you use a Dana 44 @ 49" hub to hub thats 7" narrower! Hm... lets see, 3-1/2" per side to play with... Wow if you tub the car, which is necessary, you can easily run 10" rims, and possibly up to 12" wide rims! Mark
  15. I have a Dana 44 out of a old US Mail Jeep, (pre-75). It measures 49" hub to hub and came with posi, 3.73 gears and Spicer axles. Stock, it can handle everything up to a race motor. It can be upgraded using Richmond gears, aftermarket differental assemblies and axles. Hope this helps! Mark
  16. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time! Seriously ArmorAll type products are the last thing you want to put on tires, let alone brake pedals and steering wheels I should know, as a Manufacturers Rep, I sell speciality chemicals for the automotive industry! 24. My brother-in-law sent this to me and I am sharing it with you! Even if you're not yet a grandparent you will enjoy this! A teacher asked her young pupils how they spent their vacation. One child wrote the following: We always used to spend the holidays with Grandma and Grandpa. They used to live in a big, brick house, but Grandpa got retarded and they moved to Florida and now live in a place with alot of other retarded people. They live in a tin box and have rocks painted green to look like grass. They ride around on big tricycles and wear name tags because they don't know who they are anymore. They go to a building called a wrecked center, but they must have got it fixed because it is alright now. They play games and do exercises there, but they do them very well. They is a swimming pool too, but they jump up and down in it with their hats on. I guess they don't know how to swim. At their gate is a dollhouse with a little old man sitting in it. He watches all day so nobody can escape. Sometimes they sneak-out. Then they go cruising in their golf carts. My Grandma used to bake cookies and stuff, but I guess she forgot how. Nobody there cooks, they just eat out. And they eat the same thing every nite; Early Birds. Some people can't get past the man in the dollhouse to go out, so the ones who get out bring food back to the wrecked center and call it pot luck. My Grandma says Grandpa worked all his life to earn his retardment and says I should work hard so I can be retarded one day too. When I earn my retardment, I want to be the man in the dollhouse. Then I will let people out so they can visit their grandchildren. Mark
