The housing market here Hot! Fueled by a housing shortage. I'll probably stick to remodels though, since building customs or Spec homes requires a large cash outlay. Mark

Johnc, what would you consider a "small" front sway bar and a medium rear sway bar? What about Tokico Illumina's? I'm asking because I'm building a street legal road racer. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Mark

I've been a licensed building contractor in the state of California for over 10 years. I haven't used it for the past several years, so when renewal time came around, I made it inactive with the state. It's kind of like choosing to "Non-Op" instead of registering your vehicle. I would never let my license expire! Over the years I've built many custom homes and remodeled alot as well. I would have continued with it, but I got bored and wanted a change. Problem is I much prefer being "self-employed" rather taking orders from "A-holes". And yes, "Paying the Bills" is the first priority. Live and learn I guess! Mark

Where to start? 1. Finally got tired of my managers screwing me at Safety Kleen and told them "Where to go!" and "How to get there!" So I quit and am now currently unemployed. 2. A "friend" e-mailed me an "attachment" that contained a "worm" and someone "Hacked" into my system! 3. My brother is now longer speaking to me. (He has issues, trust me!) 4. Lastly, I'm sick with a sinus infection! Oh well, it can "Always be worse!" Not to fear though! 1. I'm re-activating my contractor license with the state. 2. Got the latest version of PC-cillian 2002, so no more "worm" or "hacker" and the system is up and running again! 3. My brother still has "issues" and he rarely called me before so, no change there... 4. Got some antibiotics and I should feel like "new" soon. I hope everyone is having a better week! Mark

Hey Mike! Are you getting my e-mails? Please e-mail me with a phone number, so we can talk. Mark -
Source for Balanced Rotating Assemblies...
Z-Dreamer replied to Mikelly's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
Mike, my engine builder will require your crank, flywheel, balancer, pressure plate, rods, pistons, one set of rings and one set of rod bearings to properly balance your engine. He charges $200 for this. You said you needed the crank turned? He said he would have to check out the crank before turning it. Note, if heavy metal is required to balance, it will cost more! If you need bearings, he can get you what ever you want for a fair price. P.s. Did you get my e-mail? Mark -

Mike, do you want your current assembly balanced or do you want new parts that are balanced? Mark -

Mike, if your willing to pay the shipping, I can have my engine builder do it in less than a week! He uses a computerized machine to balance the crank too! Mark -
Well, unlike many of the other Z projects on this board, I'm going to need a 3-3.5" cowl hood to clear the Super Victor intake I'll need for my High-Port Pontiac MotorSport heads. So you know what my vote is! P.S. NO louvres! Mark

Interesting thread, it's all relative though, some guys like "Fat Chicks" even in a thong! Yikes! Same goes for cars, clothes and anything else. So if TZ is into "Fat Macho" wheels and Lone his "Rio Linda cruizer", more power/HP to them. Mark

The white Z, My garage, and a new project looming...
Z-Dreamer replied to Mikelly's topic in Non Tech Board
Hey Mike, have you considered relocating to the West coast? The weather out here is much nicer year-round as compared to where you currently live. That means more nice days for racing, both legally or the other and cruzin in general. I'm in Sacramento which is centrally located in the state. The coast or the mountains are one and half hours either way! We also have 1200 hundred miles of navigateable delta! Sacramento Raceway is but minutes away, Sears Point is a little more than a hour and Thunder Hill is about 2 hours North. A new road course is scheduled to be built one hour North in Marysville. There are also several ovals where Sprintcars and the rest of the circle track crowd race. What I'm trying to suggest is that there's an abundance of business here in the central valley with all the racers and street crowd. Me and my wife would love to give both you and Donna the Grand Tour of the surrounding area. Think about! E-mail me if you have any questions. Mark -
Personally I would love to use the Camel GT front end with cowl hood and the 280YZ rear fenders! That would be my choice! It would certainly improve the C/D of the Z to something in this century! Oh well, maybe we should petition KitcarZ (formerly VR Engineering) to "BUY" Arizona Z's fiber glass molds! Mark

Wow, what a great time my wife and me had at the MSA event! It was great meeting many of my fellow HybridZer's. Mike, my wife says you're welcome reguarding the "green bracelet" I want a Kart now! I must first finish the Z though! So many Z's and such little time to really appreciate them all, I can't wait till next year when I can show my car! It's late and I'm still beat from the long drive, so I'll say good night! Mark

Possible Door Panel Alternatives for the Z
Z-Dreamer replied to Z-Dreamer's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
RacerX, forgive me for not responding sooner. I've been out of town much of this week. I know about Fabrication Specialties as they are one of my accounts. They appear to do great work from the look of all the customs, street rods and Euro's in their shop. I was afraid to ask thinking they would be way out of my budget, but I will ask anyway! I loved those pics of your work you sent me! I wish we were neighbors! Are you going to the MSA show? Mark -
Possible Door Panel Alternatives for the Z
Z-Dreamer replied to Z-Dreamer's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
Almost forgot, RodDoors will need a good pair of Z panels from which to make the basic form. My door panels are crap! So if enough people are interested, someone will need to supply them. I can deliver them to and from RodDoors since I'm in Chico every two weeks! Mark -
While at one of my accounts in Chico, CA I noticed what appeared to be some sort of Custom Rod Shop. Being curious, I walked over and started speaking with the first person I met, who turns out to be the owner and I asked him what type of business it was? Remember, I'm a salesman Anyway he smiles and then proceeds to show me dozens of different custom door panels made from "ABS plastic" in every shape and color you could imagine! " Wheels are turning now", To make a long story short, I asked him if he had anything for a Z? He said no, but he said if he was given any door panel they could probably make it! "They are smokin now", He then hands me a catalog that lists not only door panels, but quarter panels, headliners, arm rests, speaker pods and even center consoles! Anyway here is their name and web site. Enjoy! RodDoors @ www.roddoors.com Mark

Rear Disk Brake Question for Ross or SCCA
Z-Dreamer replied to Z-Dreamer's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Thanks Guys, I'm not trying to be "cheap", rather "frugal" with the limited funds I have. I don't suppose that 240SX calipers will work with my Maxima brackets would they? Appreciate the prompt replies. Mark See you all at MSA! -
Rear Disk Brake Question for Ross or SCCA
Z-Dreamer replied to Z-Dreamer's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
SCCA, thanks for responding! Good question, well I've seen the difference, 80-81 Maxima's no problem, early 82's also. But Nissan changed the rear brakes sometime after March/April of 82. So those brackets won't work! I do have the rear calipers off a 79 280ZX and they line-up fine. I'm just can't remember if it's the 79-81ZX calipers I'm to use or 82-83's? The pads look awful small on the 79ZX calipers. Mark -
Ok, I've have the "correct" Maxima rear caliper brackets. What I need to know is, which year Z calipers do I need? Will aftermarket calipers work? I got the brackets off a 80' Maxima for free! Thats if you don't count the hour it took me to remove them I want to run the KVR Carbon Fibre "sports" if I can. Thanks Mark

first STEALTH RAM DYNO results
Z-Dreamer replied to grumpyvette's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
There is a pic of the Stealth Ram in the May 2002 Car Craft. It is listed in the article called "The Mega guide to aftermarket multipoint EFI". My problem is it won't fit my Pontiac Motorsport heads Mark
