  1. Is that a guy or chick or a beached whale? Come-on, somebody is playing with PhotoShop! Mark
  2. If anyone is interested, I ran across a shop that imports from Japan and spoke with the owner and he said he had a couple of RB26's in-stock! Mark
  3. Thats right! 8.67 at 161 MPH on DR's! It's in the August issue of Car Craft titled "Hook and Book". Some mid-western boy has a SBC powered 67 Chevy II with a D-3C ProCharger at 20 pounds of boost and is running P325/50R15 DR's on 15X9 Welds in the rear! His best to date 60 foot time is 1.38! Transmission is a powerglide with a 9-1/2" 3500 stall. Rearend is a 10 bolt with 31-spline Moser axles, spool and 4.10 gears! Suspension is stock with AFCO shocks, front and monoleaf springs with Cal-Trac and AFCO shocks in the rear! Mark
  4. "Sigh"...I knew this would happen... Hm... Lone and I do look good! But remember " WE ARE JUST FRIENDS"! Let see, list of people to get back at... Oh well, I'll think of something for August 4th! Mark
  5. Thanks Lone, I knew you would get a kick out of seeing some BIG POWER motors! Bob Johnson knows how to make HP that lasts! After you split, Bob and I had lunch and I asked him about the pics you shot of his door slammer. He said he didn't mind you posting them on this site, just not to make copies to hand out to everone. That chassis is a work of art, with several inventive design features! I'm at the inlaws in SoCal now, the drive was ok, but man the heat was unbearable, even with A/C! We hit Krammer Juction at about 2:00pm and it was 116`F! Anyway I'll definitely call you when I get to Phoenix. Mark
  6. WE had a great time at Dan & Billie Juday's home Saturday for a local BBQ and mini Z meet. The food was good, the company and bench racing was better! Nice meeting Ernie aka "RacerX", Alex, Rick, Brett aka "HeavyZ", Eric and others. I hope we do this again and soon! How about Sacramento next time? P.S. And yes, Lone and I are "Just Friends"! Mark
  7. Does anyone have pics of Victoria British steel fender flairs? Before and after would be nice! Mark
  8. Pete, All I can say is: " I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy". Pete that has to be the cleanest Z I've ever seen! You've shown the patience of Job, but never did you cave into defeat! Yes Pete, YOU are the MAN !!! Mark
  9. Sanderson does make a 1-7/8" block hugger header for the SBC! Prices range from $315 for plain steel, to $465 for ceramic silver coated. This maybe the best option short of custom headers the those of us that want to make big power! www.sandersonheaders.com/pagesbypartnum/cc178.htm Mark
  10. Mike, when you get time. tick, tick, tick ... Mark
  11. Hey Mike, no rush, but when you get a chance, we would love to see those steel fender flairs! Mark
  12. This will be a fair weather weekend machine. Made to handle but capable of 10 second quarter miles. The intake will be a Super Victor and a 750 CFM something. The exhaust will consist of custom big-tube headers and free-flow exhaust system. It will also be a stick-shift car with a 3.70-4.10 geared IRS. Mark
  13. Quick Honey, get the guns, aliens have invaded! Thats just too funny! Then again, whoever owns that beauty, may well start the next "Ricer Crayz".
  14. Most of the feed-back I've gotten concerning VB has been good! I like the "rounder" look of their steel flairs. They're on my shopping list! Mark
  15. Kevin, thanks for the Pontiac MotorSport head flow numbers! I punched them into DD 2000 and used my 2.10 Int. valve size and porting into account and now have new figures: Using a 282*Int. 292*Exh. advertised and a .560" lift with a 112 LBA. I get 548 HP @ 6500 RPM and 480ft-lbs. @ 5000 RPM. IVC @ 69*, valve overlap 63*. Better, but I'm thinking it might be better to drop the LBA to say 108* and the duration down to 278 accross the board? I want to keep the idle under 900 rpm's. Any suggustions? Anybody? Mark
  16. Here's the web address: www.victoriabritish.com Mark
  17. Sounds like a solid combo Leonard! I'm a bit perplexed though having run countless sims on DD 2000 and the best "streetable" combo I can come up with my existing parts are... 350 Sportsman block 30 over Ported Pontiac MotorSport High Port Heads 2.10 Int./1.625 Exh. Couldn't find flow numbers for these heads, but have been told by serveral race engine builders that they flow as well as any 23 degree race head on the market. So I used AFR's Ported 210cc race heads advertised numbers. It will be a 10:1 motor with Forged Manley Pistons, 6" H-Beam rods, 3.48" Forged Scat crank. 750 CFM Carb Holley 4150 HP or BG Race Demon or possibly the 750 cfm Dominator atop a Super Victor intake. Large-Tube full-length custom Headers, through the mufflers. It's the cam science that confuses me, I don't want too much overlap or I won't be able to idle under 1000 rpm! Too much duration and I won't have any vacuum for brakes! The best I've been able to come up with is a solid roller cam with 282 Int. and 292 Exh. duration advertised with a .560" lift and a 112 LBA. DD 2000 shows 533 Peak HP @ 6500 RPM and 474 ft-lbs. @ 5000 RPM. I'm I doing some thing wrong? Mark
  18. Just received my Victoria British Z catalog in the mail and I noticed they sell BIG steel flairs for the street. 2-1/2" wide in the front and 3-1/2" wide in the back! I don't want to use fiberglass flairs because of the eventual cracking of the paint due to dissimlar materials expanding and contracting during temp changes. I think these would be a good choice for running WIDE wheels and tires. The catalog photo is in B/W, so it's not that clear. Anyone currently using these? or does anyone have any pics of these on a Z? Any idea how difficult these would be to install? I assume they must be welded on? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Mark
  19. This is what I mean! Look at all the posts in less than 24 hours that are NOT relevant to this forum! This forum is so cluttered with non-relevant posts it's a pain to sift thru! I know HybridZ is growing at a fast rate, but I would hope it is by thoughes who can read and take the thoughtful time to post in the correct forum! " If your going to do something, do it right!" I'm done ranting now, good day. Mark
  20. Again, anyone think that the IMCA Lite Series or Modified Adjustables would work in a V8 Z? www.schoenfeldheaders.com/imca_mod.htm Mark
  21. I wonder if these IMCA Lite Series or Modifed Adjustable headers could be made to work in V8 Z? www.schoenfeldheaders.com/imca_mod.htm Mark
  22. I don't see why? All other topics end up here! Mark
  23. Yes, there needs to be a "Interior Forum"! Mark
  24. It's just a question, but is it me or has this forum become the catch-all for topics that should be in other forums? Just a question... Mark
