I look forward to seeing your pictures. I'm thinking about installing the TRS seats in my 72 240Z. I'm 6'2" so I'm curious how much leg room you have. BTW for whatever it's worth, if anyone is concerned about headroom you can order Corbeau reclining seats with 1 inch shaved off the bottom. I believe it's a $50 option.

Hey Josh, Your car is coming along nicely. It's going to be awesome. I'd like to come down to see it after it's been painted. Talk with you soon. Nice rims by the way Tim -
I've read a lot of messages regarding the installation of Corbeau A4 seats in a 240Z. Has anyone installed Corbeau A4 Wide seats in a 240Z?

Tim, Nice work Tim. You da man....those are amazing numbers. I'll see you in Dearborn this spring. TimO

So here’s a thought….lets all thank Chris and help him out a bit by buying his set of wheels...only $25 from each of us would do it. After all, he is college student with limited funds. Think about it…he has spent quite a lot of time and energy putting together a great deal for us. Rota is a well known and respected wheel manufacturer, 17x9.5 with the correct offset in 4x114.3 plus a killer style for cheap….is virtually impossible for us to find. All it would take is each of us paypal $25 or ? to Chris to buy his set of wheels!!! I think it’s the least we could do. By the way I have not met Chris and he doesn’t know I’m making this suggestion. I’ve already sent him my thanks: Schrismoris@gmail.com

Way to go Tim. Huge numbers on street gas. Gotta be a record!!!! Congrats man.

Hey what TimZ isn't telling everyone is that his T64 ran out of air at 6,000 rpm. His psi dropped to 20 and stayed there til the end of the runs....in other words there is quite a bit MORE hp potential left in that beast..... Way to go Tim....King of the hill.

Ross, Put me down for a set of your HD stub axles. Let me know if you need a deposit. This is why I need stronger stubs!!!!! In case anyone is wondering, 240 stub axles do SNAP!!!!! I was on a tuning run this past weekend with my LM-1. I just finished a high boost high speed third gear ve run, pulled over, loaded the new ve values, made a u turn for another run…..driving very easy at about 10 mph it SNAPPED. It snapped at the companion flange nut. Actually it may have snapped before and the u turn pulled the companion flange out. The thought of that is even more frightening. I was fricken lucky!!!!!

Vintage, The 18th looks good for me. I'll send you an e-mail off line. TimO

James, My e-mail had nothing to do with you. I didn’t even mention your name. But I ask that if you want to suggest that I don’t know what I’m doing; make sure next time you have your facts straight. That picture you referenced is not a GT35, it’s my old t3t4! Furthermore, had I known that you would TRY to minimize my expertise with a picture I shared with you in the past, I would never have sent them or discussed them with you. There is plenty of room in the z community for two or more Garrett distributors. The way I see it, the more guys who can offer turbos, etc at great prices and can provide technical support based on direct experience…the better. Doug, Regarding your wastegate placement question, we build a wastegate sandwich adaptor that places the wastegate directly between the exhaust manifold flange and the turbo inlet flange. This places the wastegate directly in line with all the exhaust flow without any welding on the exhaust manifold. I have a prototype on my z with the GT35 and it works great. We are in the process of having a small run of these adaptors built for the GT35. If you want to see what it looks like, take a look at the picture of my old turbo set up that James provided. It shows the same style adaptor we made for the t3t4. Let me know if you’re interested. Regards TimO

Doug, I’m a distributor for Garrett, Tial, Electromotive, Fedonza, TWM, SPEC and more. Most importantly I run the Garrett GT35R twin ball bearing turbo on my z and its amazing. I went from a t3/t4 60-1 p trim to the GT35R GT40 compressor wheel, .83 ar turbine side. My motor is a 2.8 F54, P90 by Gerolomy, Elgin cam .515/.490 274/266 114 L/C, TWM’s etc. I can tell you that with the GT35R, my z now feels like a big block Chevy!!! It completely changed the characteristics of my motor. Boost response is immediate with virtually no lag and I begin to make boost 6-800 rpm sooner. The compressor wheel is so efficient that I had to turn down my two stage boost controller (first and second gear) from 16psi to 13 because of wheel spin, while at the same time I was able to increased my high setting from 18psi to 20…..on California gas!! Not dyno’d yet but I should be in the 450+whp range on a daily driver tuning calibration. Based on my personal experience and talking with Garrett I think the .63 ar is too small for your z if you’re running a built z motor (decent head, cam, forged pistons etc). If your z needs a .63 ar then you are probably wasting your money on the GT35R. I also wouldn’t cut the inlet down to 3 inches. That defeats the purpose of the air flow capabilities of the GT35R. I run the 4 inch and it’s great. You will need a flange for your downpipe. The t4 series will not fit and Garrett does not make one yet for the GT High Performance Series. We can get one for you!! All of the GT series turbos utilize a water cooled bearing housing. The water fittings, oil inlet and drain are all different from the std Garrett T4. A constant supply of water must be plumbed to the 14mmx1.5 threaded holes front and rear. The oil inlet on the top of the bearing housing is a7/16-24 inverted flare. This must be supplied with a constant flow of CLEAN oil at pressures no greater than 60psi. And the oil drain is a two bolt flange with 8mm1.25 threaded holes. This flange is the same spacing and configuration as the standard Mitsubishi oil drain found on TD05 and TD06 bearing housings. Our company is new but I’ve worked on z’s and 510’s for over 30 years. We have killer prices and we give even deeper discounts to z and 510 owners. Our web site will be up in about three weeks. Let me know if you want pictures of my GT35 installation. If you have any questions or just want to chat, our tool free number is 888-629-1047, or you can call me on my cell 916-838-2509. Where ever you buy your turbo or go for advice I will tell you, the GT35R turned my z into a monster. I love it! Tim Ogburn S and T Motorsports Sacramento and Atlanta

Let me tell you, Top End Performance has cost me a lot of money and aggrivation. Where do I start; cam that was off by 4-6 degrees on each lobe, fuel pump that lasted 30 days, wrong valves in my ported head that also had to be cleaned up to fix the porting mistakes, wrong TWM parts, on and on, and best of all, refusal to take back incorrect or bad parts until I threatened legal action. The owner of TEP, Steve, will be very nice until he gets your money....then try to get him to return your call.
-
James and TimZ covered it all......good luck Adam.
-
Adam- Is your engine a Chevy small block, Nissan L6, turbocharged, na, ??? The -35 you're running for idle ve, is that -.35 or -.035, hopefully its -.035? Regards TimO

Top End Performance!!!!! How much money do you have to throw away? I would stay as far away from them as you can. I had TEP build a long block turbo motor for my z.....My experience was; head work that was incomplete and done wrong...incorrect valve size, unfinished porting, and warped,(Gerolomy of Sacramento had to fix it for me to the tune of $$$$, a clutch that was never designed for the street which I found out after a friend who had the same clutch fail after 2,000 miles. They refused to return my $ for the clutch even though it had not been installed yet! BTW, the clutch was never designed for the street (according to the manufacture). A fuel pump that lasted three hours (new???). numerous oil leaks immediaely after start up, a camshaft that was not ground to spec and had to be replaced. Worst of all is their rude atttitude, unreturned phone calls, bad mouthing of other z owners that have had similiar experiences with TEP, and calling me a lier. If I lived in the LA area I would have taken TEP to small claims court for all the time and money they have cost me. How Some others may have had a positive experience with TEP. However, I know of at least four other poeple on this forum who have had many bad experiences withg TEP. But then again, maybe mine was just a one time occurance.....over and over again!!!

My SPEC clutch is handling over 400 rwhp with no problem. I'm running their four puck carbon sprung hub design. It took over 1,000 miles to break in and now it doesn't chatter. The four puc design is great for fast shifting, the sprung hub is very streetable, and the carbon puck material on the disc really GRABS and HOLDS! Call Dave at SPEC at 205-491-8581. Hey Sean I talked with Nathan Gerolomy this morning and he is getting you the same cam from Elgin that I run! He said the cam is all he was waiting for!!

John- I'm using the Electromotive/GM knock sensor in my 83 L28ET block and it works great with my TEC II. My block had an npt tap in the stock location, and the GM sensor fit just fine. It was a tight fit but it doesn't have to screw in until it bottoms out, just tight. Good Luck Tim

This is exactly what I was expecting also! Esentially a simple six into three into one header that according to Abid will flow 25-30% more than the stock manifold. Considering it is guaranteed for three years against cracking I think I'm going to be very happy with this set up. I understand from Abid they should be finished by the end of the week.

James-that looks awesome. I'd think 525 rwh will not be a problem all. Keep us posted.
