  1. Hello,

    I am new to this forum and hoping somebody could help me.

    I have been looking around for a while now for nice body kits and fender flares for my datsun but cannot find much more then what MSA offers.

    I have seen this car and quite like the kit but cannot find if you can buy it anymore.

    As far as fender flares go i cannot find anything at all.

     

    Will I have to custom make everything or could someone help me here?

    it also seems your a little new to Z cars, no prob :mrgreen:, the pic you have is of a s30 not a 280zx(not a single body part off of a 240,260,or 280z will fit on a 280zx) msa is probly going to be your main source for body parts

     

    there are several G-nose kits for the 280zx but your looking at a total cost of about 2-3k mabe more depending on which one you get

     

    and flares for the 280zx are usually one off and sourced from other cars or custom made with fiberglass

  2. 300whp street car.

    so you want a full cumfy interior (mabe a small sound system) nicer seats, exterior work to you choising...

     

    and then their is that whole 300hp thing, this is hybridZ look arong in the engine swap forums not to say 300hp is too much for a street L28 but just make sure thats what you want...

    The car was either in flat black, all black rustoleum, or black/red two tone rustoleum over 4 years...The hybrid Z logo even has the red "Z"... :-)

    this is what i consider a Z rat rod, functionality over form, the opposite of a ricer

     

    but there are cars that are just ratty and not rat rods (mine)... oh and there is the famous ratsun term that fits so good here...

  4. the smoke was white. i tried to start the car this morning and it ran for about a second and died. The car has run for about a year since i bought it. The previous owner had it sitting, but started it about once a week to keep it running. Im going to try to start it again tomorrow.

     

     

    one idea on the smoke, is it cold outside? cars smoke after cranking in the morn and Z's seem to more than others (or its just that they are old)

     

    im still sticking with the loose connection/sensor

  5. what color smoke? and how much oil did you put in? did you gap the plugs and or they the right kind?

     

    the plugs should be BP6ES-11, the gap should be (1.0 to 1.1 mm) or (0.039 to 0.043 in.)

     

    the oil, if you changed it while the car was warm, should have been close to 3 3/4 qt.

     

    its also more likely you knocked some kind of connection or sensor lose if the car does not even sputter

  6. I've gotten 575 miles in one tank of fuel but that's because I had no money and needed to make it last, I went soooo slow everywhere. but I got the NA tranny, stock diff what ever ratio that is and 205/60/15 tires. if that matters. And I don't use the AC

    i have the r200 and a 5speed, i should be getting good mpg but i dont for some reason, i think i just need to slow my a$$ down...

  7. I've been DDing my 83 NA 3 years. I get and average of 24 to 26 MPG but i shift at 2k to 2.5k RPM which from what I hear is abnormal ? it's never stranded me anywhere in the 35k mile I've driven it. I'm at 174k now.

     

    Oh wait! correction I was stranded last thanksgiving because it was wet out and I was messing around and broke the clutch.

    lol im going to have to start shifting at 2k so i can gets me some of those MPGs

  8. i have been driving about 40 miles daily for about a year in my 2+2 and trust me 20-22 mpg is not that fun...

     

    its ok as far as reliability (ive only had one breakdown when a hose on the intake manifold busted) but i just hate putting so many miles on the car and the fact that trucks are getting better mpg than me...

  9. I thought I read somewhere that they were for venting the motor (exhaust versus intake), to avoid heatsoak....similar to the S130 blower fan that cools down the injectors.

     

    I could be totally wrong but I remember reading that...here somewhere.

     

    All mine do is let rain in!!

    yeah thats why if you notice the right side vent is almost actually blocked off... but they couldnt just have one vent!!!! that would look... race inspired... race inspired cosmetic enhancement... RICE... oh no
