  1. Front brakes do about 70% of the job, so throw that in with the weight transfer stuff mentioned above.
  2. Moby, I think I have good news, the green and brown injectors test at 3.3 ohm resistance, only one greenie in the batch but still odd.
  3. Good news, sort of. Pins 8 and 17 test out with two distinctly different voltage signals, both fluctuate when rotating the diz. Turning the diz by hand gives me a signal at the pin 5 output (YW), aka the negative transistor 'trigger.' It gives me a solid ground and goes to zero volts intermittently when rotating, looking at the response time of the DVM I can see that it would be too slow when cranking the car by the starter, to show me any kind of reaction. The light that I used is a 10w 12v bulb too, so I think it was holding a charge long enough that I couldn't see reaction from it, since this pin 5 output is a low power trigger (light was dim). Injectors still try to fire (fuel is unplugged for testing), each one I know clicks because I hooked up one injector at a time. So I can assume that maybe the ignition module is dead, but at this point I assume nothing as fact argh
  4. They are rated at 150HP to the crank, but that is when removing accessories. Reality is they made around 130 HP or so, crank.
  5. Yeah, thats the tough part, I know ignition boxes like I know what goes on at Area 51, and online info is sadly lacking. I'll check out Megaspark closer, since I know that is customizeable.
  6. Sounds like what you are talking about is negative camber, does that sound right? I have too much on my rear setup and the tire wears poorly, drivers side is a tad lower also but the springs are cut so that could be why. How low is the car?
  7. Probably not the coil if 2 of them wont work. You can test the coil by measuring resistance between the negative lead and positive, and the ground to the spark outlet, report back with what your measurements are and someone should be able to judge if the coil is dead or not.
  8. Sleeper, do you have any idea if I could use the signal from the diz to trigger one of these boxes that accepts a "crank trigger" style signal?
  9. I dont see why not, but with all the sensors that it would complain about, like fuel level - you'd have to swap alot of stuff without problems I think. The ZXT cars have a talking lady, I dont know about the ZX but I'd assume it too had them.
  10. Gotcha, but mine is in the diz, I have an 82 setup. There is a high res and low res pulse I believe(?) one with a 6 pulse per revolution and 360 per revolution of the diz I think. I'll test both diz signal pins again to see whats doin, I can't see what else would be holding it up

  12. Yep, I got one green and the rest brown, box says that colors may vary, but the length of the tube was also different and the PN was different, I will measure impedance to check (should have done so already). Megasquirt will work with high or low impedance, they set it up either way depending on your app (they also sell injectors).
  13. Its either this or I'm going to have to ignore the car for awhile and start messing with the Camaro, and probably just buy an aftermarket computer setup to get the thing running, the guesswork is just crippling me. The spark boxes I've seen usually accept either of 3 ways for timing, crank trigger or optical is all I remember off the top of my head. I will continue to look into this then, there is a unit with an adjustable curve that I was interested in awhile back... I have seen the statement that an HEI "wont work with a turbo ECU" so I wasn't sure if the computer needs to see something from the transistor or what. That sounds "easy" other than the computer needing it for the injector timing
  14. You dont wear a rotor all that thin, 1.25" is damn standard for many cars like Vettes etc with vented rotors, and you wont find many aftermarket setups with more than that either without serious cashola. I still have stock rotors on my Camaro with Hawk HPS pads and the car has 122k on it, and it has been road raced.
  15. No disagreement here, Koni doubles from what I know can take about 2x the stock spring pretty well, 3x and you start to wear them faster. Look into some Bilsteins and get them valved for what you need, or go with Konis, but yeah that is a damn stiff spring.
  16. Whats wrong with the Sherco stuff? Someone sells high imp 42# on eBay every now and again for a bit over $200, or are you talking about low imp stuff?
  17. I will test the diz again to make sure I'm getting both pulses, in the meanwhile though can I fix this with an aftermarket spark box with adjustable timing map? I dont know if the ECU would like it, and/or if the spark box needs the transistor or not.
  18. Foot pounds? Or pounds per inch... 440#, so you have 400# coil overs and you cut them a bit I assume. Those are some beefy friggin springs, remember the stockers are 130#, those are going to be road racing springs they are not going to be suitable for drag, and from what you say maybe not safe for the street either.
  19. Yeah, the things I've wondered about before, Len would pull off the car and it would start right up. The Diz is triggering the injectors, but the ign wont tell the coil to fire, hmm.
  20. Thanks Sleeper, I will try that tomorow. I was tearing apart my coil today to look for this bullet connector http://www.zcar.com/forums/read.php?f=1&i=349816&t=349374 Now I dont have a bullet connector but it looks like that is simply coming off the blue wire which also goes to the coil negative. Will the tach unhooked cause the plugs not to fire?
  21. Its like the Icy Hot Stuntaz, with an afterparty... I was sorry to see them go so soon, just about as soon as they put up mouse pads, T shirts and coffee mugs on thier site Geosheeties pulled it.
  22. No pulse from the ECU, just a solid ground
  23. Thats about the one thing on my car that actually works...
  24. I do Control A and Control C as well, to highlight all and copy, just incase. I haven't seen that message but sometimes the board is quirky for me, I run IE6 with whatever the latest SP is for it, always on 2k machines. http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
