  1. Ok, thats what I was thinking, Lockjaw's post left that in question with the brevity...
  2. Can't you recognize an outlaw when you see one?
  3. Uhh, the electronics or the rest? How about NA 84-88 vs Turbo? Since the guts are the important part, it would be nice to know for the future.
  4. True, in CA ignorance is no excuse. Plus they might feel like really putting it to you because of your ignorance and intentional endangerment yada yada, think of some big legal words to throw in there. I am not flaming you, just saying sometimes examples are made, and it might hurt worse than it should. I would just take whatever comes, either ticket or get rid of it with traffic school, I did traffic school online I just think it could only get worse if you told them "yeah I modded my car so the speedo and odo are never accurate anymore."
  5. For anyone else needing injectors, 81-86 turbo injectors are "the same," in 87-88 they get much bulkier in the middle so I am not sure that they would work.
  6. I would think it to be a home fabbed hack job myself.
  7. I wonder if there is a plate frame that says "my other car doesn't look this sh!tty" haha
  8. I dont think its that funny just plain stupid. I remember seeing those things at Disneyland, that has got to be a lamer mod than an LED in the window squirter.
  9. http://www.riderperformancemotorcycles.com/products/otherproducts/toiletseats/index.html Add your own BOV and Type R sticker
  10. Hmm, ok, so the thing at the bottom that hooks to the cam effectively is the wrong size/shape/whatever...
  11. Hmm, the two that do work, aren't putting out hardly a damn thing. That is what Len thought too though, that it would not be that bad, even though it sat for about 5 years. I tested the drivers too and they are good on all leads. I thought I made a post about injectors but dont see it. 82+ turbo injectors fit 1981-1983 ZX TURBO and 1983-1986 300ZX TURBO, which sort of comfirms the 1987 set I saw that dont look quite the same.
  12. Cougar should be renamed to street hooker.
  13. It'll splash around, but thats because its pressurized until it hits liquid form. I used to drive a forklift years ago, and when unhooking the tank once it still had some juice left in it, and it hit my hand - that stuff freezes you RIGHT quick. You can achieve the same effect in less volume, turning an air can (for cleaning computer keyboards etc) upside down and shooting yourself with it. I'm going to stick with the drums for awhile, but discs are a consideration, mostly though because of easier maintenance and less weight is nice too.
  14. Did more testing on the diz today, diz is perfect. However, finally after unwiring the fuel pump, and turning the diz by hand, I could clearly hear some injector clicking going on. So, I unhooked every injector, and then hooked them up one by one while turning the diz, I only get firing from injector #3 and #5. I pulled injector #3 and I could smell fuel. So I'm going to hunt down some injectors or a place to clean the stockers, and then go from here. If that somehow doesn't fix the problem, I can feel stupid all over again
  15. The bushing for the top shock as you mention, is a bumpstop. You can live without them if the car is not lowered, but you can replace them with rubber or poly bumpstops to avoid bottoming out (bad for the strut). Propane is a gas Whatever ricer that owned my car once upon a time, removed them, or maybe he/she burned them when they torched the springs
  16. 3rd genners attempt at a Batmobile? Oh damn, and that stupid ass crooked plate thing.
  17. Someone posted that they were using something like 700# of force with an air hammer I believe, and that it still would not budge. Seriously there would come a point where the thing would break or become mushroomed/distorted... so I just dropped the whole thing, it adds weight to carry it around, but if your staying in the garage to bang the drum off I wouldn't bother with the link bolt.
  18. Looking at the Haynes, the 82 turbo diz looks the same as the 84-88 unit, other than the firing order being different, does anyone know if the unit operates in the same way, and has the "same" dimentions/fitment mechanism? Are the 84-88 NA units the same as the turbo? The advance amount is the same across the 82 Turbo, 84-88 Turbo and NA.
  19. Wow, I have heard some monster stories of putting 1000# or something to get those pivot bolts out, I didn't even try, I dropped the transverse link along with the rest and carried it upstairs. If anything would have gotten mine off, it would have been a heavy mallet with a long handle!
  20. He has that look of fear in his eye, caught him off gaurd?
  21. Shoot, I heated up the drum for a long, long time, till smoke was billowing out and it was just about untouchable for more than a split second touch. I began using a paint stripper gun because the torch kept blowing out, I had the gun to its highest setting and I would not be supprised if I spent 15-20 minutes on it. If you read through the whole thread, what I ended up doing that worked, was to take a cutting wheel to the drum and work my way around the center a bit. I didn't cut it up 100%, but I probably covered 70% or so, before it would come off with more pounding.
  22. That will be brake dust simply, since it has nowhere else to go. Drums aren't so bad if they aren't stuck shut, but I have found others on Zcar.com with stuck drums as well, so it sounds somewhat common. It will take longer than a caliper type brake, stuck or not. I guess while the car is down I should do the other brake to get it over with.
  23. Computer programming is for nerds who want to be code monkeys, I would rather not sit at a desk for "the man" 18+ hours a day pounding out code. That is for true geeks who want to optimize all day, and bug fix, etc, if your not one of those people you dont belong in programming. I know a guy who does porting and engine building for Trans Am race cars and other big SB2/2.2 stuff, and makes only $15 an hour. So, make sure you find yourself in the right place as well, if your working for someone else you may not make a thing.
  24. Is he as muscular in person? I heard the camera adds weight...
