  1. everyone's is lookin MIGHTY FINE as for me? i kinda dig the stock bumpers minus the large weight >:/ but will probably end u rolling the bumper once i am in a stable financial situation...i.e. finished with college http://s335.photobucket.com/albums/m448/datsun723/
  2. screw partying! get that tranny in!! then go to the party in style
  3. what a nightmare O_O my head hurts jus from reading this haha. GOOD LUCK!!!! oh how i look forward to electrical issues down the road....
  4. i use mobile 1 10w-30....only cuz the PO used it....the stuff is expensive!! and yea, 10x-30/40 is fine for dd...
  5. i will definitely take your advice as i dont want a rusty exhaust....eww...lol. I do have a question though. The paint takes care of the outside, but what of the inside?
  6. i'm in temecula too ;_; but yea...his Z is nice lol
  7. I do want to mention though, I've had mine for about 3 1/2 weeks now and I've washed it once or twice since then...there is some type of surface rust on it...maybe oxidation?
  8. Cost me $150 to install...well $250 really. The other twice pipes thread is mine and explains what happened. Beware 280Z owners lol. But Abraham at MSA set everything straight so i'm VERY pleased with this setup. The gurgling and occasional backfire is just priceless
  9. no, you can use the stock header. it comes with a new Y pipe which goes into a 2.5'' collector and then out to the duals. you WILL howver, need to use the original gasket for the Y pipe.
  10. haha well, in 4 or so years when i get the swap done, i'll try the twice pipes and see what happens. and i agree...i think there's more to it. besides, if i'm going turbo i'd want want jus a straight through 3'' all the way back, no glass packs. call me crazy but i like my cars loud haha!
  11. unfortunately being a college kid has it's financial limits lol. the turbo swap wouldn't be for another 4-5 years....that and the head was rebuilt recently =P
  12. hmm....very good points there. i guess my argument would be that although the Y pipe is 2.5'' the two separate pipes are only 2'' i believe. maybe smaller. i just don't know if it would flow as well as a regular 2.5 or 3'' turbo back system... who wants to try it out?
  13. yea i was talking about the same thing challenger was.... personally, i love the rumble of the l28et through a 3'' and no muffler. like big phil's, or his buddy chris's...thw tice pipes are nice but i can't wait for the day when i can do a turbo swap
  14. oh, haha. of COURSE he was talking about you i knew that...
  15. no, i checked his public profile. he has a l28et...and he shouldn't get twice pipes lol.
  16. NOOOOOO!!!! believe me, i have twice pipes, and you DON'T want them on a turbo car.... and I have some pretty nice JBL's and it still sounded muffled but hey, again, at least you have a video...i dont have a camera so i'm outta luck till i get back to college...
  17. kinda muffled but hey...at least you HAVE a video... now to somehow steal...err...i mean borrow, my friends camera
  18. *bookmarked page three times to make sure i had it* *checks again to make sure it saved* Hey, you know how everyone is saying, "this will be a great thread for someone who wants to build a turbo Z?" Thats ME YAY!!! thanks again everyone, the info is much appreciated. and now i am very jealous...of all of you
  19. Haha, this is true. I haven't been on more than a 2 hour ride yet, been close! At this point i'm more concerned with getting my stereo up to par with my twice pipes But, this would be a very nice alternative to have either/or. And not a bad price at that!
  20. psh...comfort....i didn't buy a Z for a comfortable, quiet dd...i bought it cuz i wanted a Z! right?! maybe it's jus me...
  21. gee...wish MY install went as smoothly as yours did!! i guess they fit like a charm on the 240's...hellish fit on the 280's tho. but i must agree the sound is intoxicating. winding it up is a thrill and is ur Z lowered? i haven't had a single issue with clearance...
  22. sweet. i'll keep an eye out for ya
  23. haha nice. thats next on my list now whats great is that my Z is completely stock otherwise. so, it jus looks like a '78 Z, hubcaps and all. while waiting at stop lights i'll kinda rev it a little right before the light turns and i've had people doing double takes
  24. yeaaa...it sucked. and msa will TELL YOU that it fits. i'm trying to get the difference back from them on what i had to spend to get it to fit so hopefully that goes well. but..aside from the fit, the sound sends chills down my back. it truly sounds like no other car on the road. haha i can't tell you how awesome it was to blow by a sti the other day. it had a catback and as i'm sure we all know, those subies are quite loud with their flat 4 but man did i get HIS attention ^.^
