Well, it's really just the glasspacks that have some surface rust on them. The rest of the piping is fine...but I will definitely get the mufflers coated And I'll get those pictures to you this weekend when I go home..

Twice pipes ARE amazing! The fit on 280's sucks however =/ I'll try and get you a picture of what mine look like. The guy at the shop I took it to had to make his own pipes for the back half....it fits great now and is pretty far off the ground. It looks like crap though since I didn't have the foresight to coat them haha.

Well, I got my first Z as my first car back when I was 16. Cost me 2250. Over the 2 years I had that Z i got two new tires, new radiator, new carpet, tint, and power locks...so about an easy 1000 on that Z. I had two more cars in between my first 77 and my current 78 which were a 88 supra turbo and a 95 Infiniti J30. Wasted a TON of money on the supra. Like STUPID crazy. 650 exhaust, 400 rack, 250 tint, 250 Infinity speakers, interior parts...yadda yadda. Thought the supra was going to be THE car but it just need to much to keep it going. Beautiful car though. One owner, 153k original miles. Great car. LOVED the engine....hated working on it but LOVED the engine lol. My current Z was bought for 3150 but needed tires straight off the bat. So 3500 and two tanks of gas to drive it home lol. It needed a dash cover so I got a soft cover which was like 40. I have since bought some wheels which were 100 and then 100 to mount and balance them, new rotors up front(can't remember how much that was...maybe 300?), bought some twice pipes which were 350 installed, and then some fusible link covers. Other than that, I haven't touched it I really need to get it claybarred as the roof is starting to get really dull and am saving for wheels, struts, and some springs. Oh, and BUSHINGS! I need those too lol. So, I've got an easy 2k to save up. After THAT who knows...I will eventually go turbo but not till after college when I can get another dd and work on this one for awhile.

Well, besides being a college student and not having enough cash to spend on another car, i'm proud to say that i dd my S30. BUT! even IF i did have the cash to fork over to get a corolla or something of that nature, i wouldn't. i probably would use any extra money to "paint my canvas" aka get the Z to where i want it. but yes.... -the steering sucks. no power steering does suck but not having to replace a steering rack or deal with leaking power steering hoses is awesome (which was a PAIN with my '88 supra turbo) -i have TWICE PIPES! yea...you guys want to talk about loud? doesn't get much louder than that haha. but! once i get some nice 6x9's and my sub, i'll be set -i dont have fumes. lucky i guess? it DOES smell kinda gas-ish but it doesn't bother me. smells like a Z should -lighting isn't bad AT ALL! maybe i'm fine with dim lights but my current Z's lights are jus fine. i DO remember having my 77 and then getting the supra..wow did the supra have better lights. but they're fine for now...i dont do much driving at night anyways -i would HATE to get a corolla, besides the 'lame' and 'cookie cutter'-ness, i absolutely cannot STAND driving people. one passenger is far more than enough for me lol. -i would have to agree that i already KNOW i'm getting a dd after college...but that's going to be a mk4 supra turbo so.... I love my Z. I love driving it to Albertsons or taking it over to Santiago Canyon and messing around. I find any excuse to drive it, and actually get antsy if i DON'T drive it 3-4 times a week haha. anywho, here a pic of mine as she currently is.

i also have a 78 Z but yea...mine did the same thing a couple months ago for maybe a...week? but it hasn't done it since. i wouldn't worry about it unless it really bugs you...but if you want to fixit, my first guess would be the handbrake itself. check the switch...maybe it isn't making full contact and jus needs to be adjusted???

At least you can say you that you've been to the dragstrip with your own car b4 lol. You'll get better. I KNOW i suck at driving and constantly remind myself that I do until I get into autocrossing or at LEAST take some 'professional' driving course
