  1. you sure the civilian tow trucks weren't there for repo's
  2. Then fact that he mentioned MP's leads me to believe that the car is on the army installation. Things work a little bit different there ... if the MP's tow it, there's no chance he'll be able to "work a deal" with the "tow yard" because it's all ran by the MP's. Talk to an MP, see if he'll hook you up .. it's a long shot but you never know, or go to the MP station and talk to the Traffic section (they typically run the impound lot operations) they MIGHT help you out, but like I said it's a tough crowd to get into, but you never know.
  3. MP here! Ok, first off through my experience the MP's won't render any of the registered owners information to you. It's against regulation. Once the MP's actually tow it your pretty much screwed. They'll mail a certified letter to the owner telling them they have 90 days to come get it. Then it'll go into an impound lot for 90 days and DRMO will auction it off. You may be able to get the auction info from the DRMO office. But like I said it'll be another 90 days from the day they tow it. Now, if you go to the DMV and request the info, the dmv will send a letter to the owner telling them that your trying to get their info, if the owner doesn't dispute them giving you the info then it's yours. It's all a big hassle, your best bet would to make a "friend" thats in law enforcement or someone who has access to that info.
  4. I need to know how easily fiberglass is repaired. The two front fenders on my 240 have stress cracks in them. No holes, just one spot on each fender where they cracked no more than 6". Is fiberglass easy to be repaired? Oh, and if anybody knows a good body shop in the s.cali high desert that won't try to rob me, let me know Thanks in advance guys!!
  5. Hmmmm, sounds like your RCA cables are a mess down there, or your speaker wires are misrouted. Anytime I get really mixed up, (rarely happens when it come to the audio on a car ) I'll pull all the wires and start over paying close attention to where the wires will be going. The best way that I've seen to split your signal to more channels is to run a seperate equalizer. I had a Kenwood equalizer some years ago that took a 2 channel input and had 3 outputs. I'm sure the newr ones are better and you could possibley find one that splits into 4 channels. Why do you need 4 channels? With 3 you'll still get all the seperation that you need (front/rear/sub). There's really no reason to run 4.
  6. I'm kinda looking for one of those manifolds. How much are they looking to get for one?
  7. Maybe I should get my SU's tuned then ehh.........
  8. Ok, here we go.... While I was surfing I found a website by wolfcreek racing. They deal alot with some trick/racing stuff for early Datsuns. I saw an intake manifold thats set up for use with a 4bbl carburetor. Has anybody run anything similiar to that, and if so, what cfm rating on the carburetor was used for that set-up? Thanks in advance. --Poundz--
  9. Damn.!.!.! ... And I gotta park next to that at the MSA show.?.?.?.? ....Maybe I'll just stay home..
  10. exoticrebodies.com has some cool body kits. But I think they're more for the Fiero chassis.
  11. Hey, Let me know when the Lien sale is!!!
  12. Yeah, I actually had sold two on ebay, both it seems to deadbeaters. Got to sell one locally though to a guy that paid more than the winning bid, so no problem there. I'm waiting to see if the guy that "won" the other one is going to show up this afternoon. If not, I'll part out what I can then abandon it somewhere. It's a shame too, nice rolling chassis, not more than minor surface rust. But as far as the body shop goes, it really doesn't matter if they're a few hours away, as long as the work they do is tried and tested to be good.
  13. Yeah, Ft Bragg. Isn't that bad, I actually lived there a couple years back, this is my second time around. Either of you know a decent custom autobody shop in the vicinity. I'm gonna need to get some work done while I'm there. It doesn't matter where it's at, if it's quality work. Appreciate any input guys.
  14. Well, ya can't blame me for trying.
  15. Custom made kickpanel and shock tower pods with a good head unit would be adequate. If you want more serious sound add a couple amps and get a sub-woofer box made (or two) that will fit behind the shock towers (1 on each side).... Just my suggestion. It really all depends on how much you want to spend. I've regularly usually have about 4 grand in stereo equipment in my cars. But, thats just my thing.
  16. Just found out recently that I have to move (again - 12th time in 7 years). I'd really hate to leave the So.Cal area again, but Uncle Sam seems to think he needs me elsewhere. Is there any Z guys (or girls) in or around Fayetteville, NC.? I'm really new to the Z stuff and would fell a little better if I had some help close by, like I do here.
  17. Hey, Dan if you buy the molds and make me a hatch. I'll buy one from ya
  18. Well, I just got his email back...and it's not looking good. 32,000 for all of his molds and he won't sell them individually (just like it was said earlier in the post) ... Oh well, me being in So.Cal, I'll bet I can find a decent shop to do one for me.
  19. damn, foiled again. How hard do you think it would be to fab one out of some sheet metal......?
  20. I emailed the guy from the website to see how much he wanted for the mold. I have a friend that does fiberglass work and want to see if he's interested.
  21. I want one. Any idea what they went for?
  22. Well damn . I actually saw that picture a few months ago and wanted to find out more about it. But then forgot where I found it. Then alas!, there it was right where I left it. I wonder if I'll see it at the MSA show at the end of the month, and if he'll notice it's missing when I leave
  23. Anybody know whose car this is? Or where he got that hatch done? (alt+p)
  24. Ok, just had to add my piece. The thing that irritates me the most, is that these anti-war college students really have no clue what this is all about. It's almost really amusing to hear their arguments until I realize that alot of these kids are going to school on my tax dollar. It's obvious that I'm wasting my tax dollars to pay for these kids to go to college to better themselves when it's become apparent the money could have been better spent by me on my Z. Is this our future? A bunch of people that so want to stand up for something, that they stand for something that they have no clue what it's about. Another funny thing about this is that alot of these kids are getting their information from Hollywood actors. A job that takes how much education?? Think the government will give me back my money????
  25. That's wrong, very, very wrong
