good job nix 240Z Looking at the usual auto parts stores. I see all clamp on boots. They are pretty vauge about inner /outer boots. They seems to offer one that is twice the price. I assume the inner but the show a clamp included. Where did you get your boots. And how did you remove the inner boots. Careful with a cutoff wheel??

Hey coastguard I sure would like to see the shifter with the console installed as well. seems odd there would be that much diff from one car to the next. I have an S30 and planning to put my donor 280ZXT engine & T5 tranny in there. Cutting the console is really bugging me. How about some pictures guys.

Guys I plan to install the Borg Warner T5 that came with my donor car for my S30 L28ET swap. I understand the console needs modifications because the shifter sits car forward to much. kudos to this site. I'm looking for pictures showing this interfearence condition. Seems like I also read a mustang shifter added has a much better feel. This Mustang shifter has a set back/offset to the actual shift rod. Does this solve the problem, make it worse or what? Really hate to cut on 40 year old console. thanks guys

Hey guys Does anyone have before & after pictures of your flywheel lightening? Love to see them. I have the ability to machine the flywheel but not sure where the material is being removed? Sizes/dimensions would be great? Much thanks Dave

nbesheer asked a valid question about passing CA emission testing. Nobody answered. I to am in process of choosing an EMS for my S30 I28ET swap. I live in a wonderful TN county that does not require emission testing but the next town over does. Someday I will move. Anyway. Does the emission test need to pass for a 1970-73 car? Do they plug into the ECU while testing? I suppose all states/counties are different. The big question--when tuned properly will the I28ETengine pass emission testing no matter where you live? If you can't license it what good is the project right? Or can you right a MAP tune to just pass the test? Then reload the good tune.

Does anyone have pictures of before and after lightening? I can machine my own if I have good picture of where the meat is removed. Cheers Dave

I'm looking at an 83 280ZXt with a T5 tranny is the BW T5 standard? What years used them. More importantly should I stay a way from this for my 240 project? I know I want a 5 speed--what gives. Yes I'm a newby. Had a 240 back in 83 now I want to came back. The search is very unruling for me.
