    R230 Installed

Final install of the R230 diff in the 280ZX! Whohoo
  5. Pic I took last summer. Took several attempts before the LT1 fired up.
  6. Go karting is so much fun. Gollum, the best time to be by yourself is probably on a weekday. That's what I used to do in order to find the best racing line on the track. Currently, I go to a local indoor track where they run those 6.5hp Sodikarts. The track is fairly close to 1/4mile in length. I used to hold the track record of 26.49, been top of the month 4 times in a row, champion of their last league. The most fun I have is racing with a full crowd of regular customers. I love their expression when they see that my fastest lap is like 3 seconds faster than theirs. Sean
  7. Ross is the man. I purchased his r230 adapters and the quality is awesome. He also did a follow up to see how the setup was going. Now that's awesome customer service. Sean
  8. Sweet. Thanks again for the help. I think I will follow along the same path as you. Sean
  9. Right now I am working on installing an LT1/4l60e into my '81 280ZX. I bought a 36" Lokar throttle cable designed for the TPI and later engines and I noticed that it takes about 2 inches of cable travel to get full throttle out of the motor. Ideally I want to have the cable hook right up to the gas pedal but the pedal only travels an inch. What have other Hybrid Zers done to solve this? Thanks for any input you may have. Sean
  10. How about a Geo Metro. I wouldn't suspect a Geo being fast. Sean
  11. I bet you could get away with those airdams with the fiberglass bumpers. I have seen a couple Z's around here with them. Sure they would be illegal but its not like the stock bumpers did much better when it comes to protection. Sean
  12. The first time I saw a Z in person was when I purchased mine. I was 16 at the time looking for a car and my dad offers his advice. "How bout a Z car?" I was like, "What's that?" Little did I know how awesome these car are. He knew a guy who was selling one so we went to look at it. It was a 1981 280ZX in good condition with a semi new metalic blue paint job. For only $1000 I was blown away. The day I brought the car back I was pulled over by the cops... I knew that must have been a good omen. Sean
  13. r230 out of a 300zxtt is a 3.69 ratio....regular 300zx n/a had the redesigned r200 with a 4.11 ratio. Sean
  14. I think 4 and 5 go better with the shirt...although 6 is awesome . Sean
  15. Stock is cool. Blows my mind how good these cars were when they rolled out of the factory (minus the rust issues). My suspension has seen better days but I can still rip through the turns. Maybe your 260Z should be a modded L28 motor with improved suspension. Then you'll have a Z for each mood your in. Sean

  17. Nice interior. So is your 280ZX gonna be completely bone stock or will you put a blown SBC in it like your 280Z? I am modifying my 81 280ZX's interior right now. My plans are carbon fiber Autometer gauges with all black interior and some leather 2001 Celica seats. She'll been for cruisin. 8) Your car looks like a blast from the past. Congrats. Sean
  18. Not bad at all. Got to take her for walks...open her up a bit and see how she fairs to the competition. Maybe add a couple mods as well...perhaps a direct port cat-scent injection system? Sean
  19. Nice hybrid you got there. What kind of numbers does she deliver...2 Dogpower? Sean
  20. That could also be applied to everything else as well. Cars require time and money too. Come to think of it everything requires time and money. EVERYONE'S EVIL Sean
  21. The car takes some getting used to but I like it. Nothing that a couple of future aftermarket parts wont fix. What makes the car truely awesome is the powerplant. Sean
  22. The average seemed to increase slightly. ~Total (years): 3285 number of people: 101 AVE: 32.5 Sean
  23. "GROOVY!" The way he said that in Evil Dead 2 was awesome. I'm interested in a shirt. Sean
