  1. To me they look like factory 260Z wheels just painted black in sections. Normally they are just all silver. Should be real easy to find.
  2. Its sad but they are spread evenly all over the world. He was from a 4x4 forum in the US...but you can find good examples here too!
  3. The only time I notice is when I take off from a set of lights normally (as you know these zeds seem to take off pretty quickly without trying) and they notice I'm quicker than their, I think you know them there as the Pontiac G8's? they realise that then mash the throttle to catch up and pass me at 60mph! only to stop at the next set of lights for the same treatment..."How can a Datsun drag a supercar like mine?" they ask themselves...
  4. Yes! I may have to start collecting them down here... How much were you after? Inc shipping to Australia, 3190. It's a shame we never got them here...I've seen one on eBay and that's it. Thanks
  5. Hey, As it says just after a L28ET distributor with the optical sensor built in so I can run my L24 with a Wolf V500 ECU. I don't need the cap or rotor so as to make it lighter to ship here in Melbourne. I missed one here on ebay before I found out I needed one! If anyone can help, it will be appreciated! Thanks ....Postcode is 3189.
  6. "Slaps Forehead" Of course...Thanks..now begins the search for one..
  7. Another question I just thought of, has anyone succesfully used a L28ET dizzy and a Wolf V500 ECU to get sequential injection? I'm thinking that is an easier way rather than setting up a crank angle and distributor sensor to get it. I was told if you just run a crank trigger, you miss out on sequential injection.
  8. All 240Z and some early (74) 260's have strut tubes with 51mm OD and later 260/280's have 55mm strut tubes. I'm sure the lower control arms are similar. The 260Z 2+2 rear hub carrier is different to all other models.
  9. Thanks to everyone who responded but eventualy I found some here by chance.
  10. The search for an interior is almost over... Thanks to Jason, recieved the goods today! I'm still searching for a roof liner; have a red one here but I'd rather not paint it black in case someone needs a red one desperately. If anyone has a good condition roof liner, I'll be interested! Thanks to all that helped..
  11. For aligning the clutch and crank, I found a input shaft from some poor old gearbox that donated it and use that. Saves time and beer...
  12. Got a set of "Euro" 240Z tail lights on ebay right now if anyone is interested. Should go pretty cheap.
  13. Each to their own I say...but anyways, I had a twin pipe setup for the total of about 3 days! It was just unbearable driving around; plenty of "thumbs up" by people who know the car but it just drew too much attention. Went back to the exhaust place and re-did the twin pipes to a single resonator with a 2.5" exit. It still ran the twin up until the diff then joined into one before the rear resonator. Before it was just a "hotdog" and straight out. Might be good for racing but sometimes we do get caught exceeding the decibel level and have to shut them up; only at some tracks thankfully!
  14. I would prefer the original vinyl to repro, but if none are available I'll have no choice! I'm pretty sure the handbrake lever on all zeds in the US are on the right hand side of the tunnel?
  15. I had a L20B motor in a Bluebird do similar things....running fine, cough splutter, me pumping the gas just to keep it going then stall! Pull to the side, restart and was like nothing happened. Turns out it was corrosion on the HT lead from the coil to the distributor. Have you checked all the HT leads for any corrosion? Just a guess; hope it helps.
  16. As above, I'm in search of all the interior (Black ) vinyl for a 240Z; like roof lining, rear strut towers, a-pillar, trans tunnel etc. Basically anything vinyl on the inside, me wantee! If shipping isn't a ridiculous fortune, I'll be interested in either cash or trade for parts needed from down here. As long as it's not seriously damaged, I dont mind if its dirty, just complete. A pic would be good if its possible. Thanks
  17. Rob, wheelbase for a 2+2 is 2605mm; 300mm longer than a 2 seater and unfortunately not available in a convertible. While we are here, I might as well post a pic of my 240Z as it is now....
  18. I've made a wedge out of MDF fiber board and it has worked well; as long as when you are knocking into place you don't force it in like its holding the world together.. Just make sure you attach a strong small eye bolt so when it comes time for removal, the wire you are using to pull it out doesn't break/come loose.. If you can make one out of Nylon plastic that should work well
  19. Thanks for the response! I love your setup Pete! Looks excellent. Might hunt around for LS1 coils down here. I'm afraid to find out actually! Where did you source yours from? new or second hand?
  20. One thing I know is heat kills everything! I even moved my battery to behind the passenger seat.
  21. On my setup I'm using an alloy radiator with a single 12" fan and as said before, when you are racing, the fan does nothing. As Z240 said, it is wise to block any way for air to escape from around the radiator so it has to go through it. I had a gap between the radiator and rad support panel; shoved some dense foam and that helped a bit. When I'm racing, temp sits just under 3/4 which is a touch to warm for me. I'd prefer two smaller fans for traffic and good ducting for racing.
  22. Just curious if anyone here has setup a distributorless ignition setup on a L series engine with crank angle sensor etc. About to remove the RB25DE and install a fresh L24 with cam etc and thought I'd keep my wasted spark coil pack and 3 chanel module for use with the L series. Still keeping the Wolf V500 ECU though...
  23. As posted, I need a clutch and brake pedal for a 260Z for an auto to manual conversion I'm doing here in Australia. If anyone could be bothered to post here that would be great! I just mainly need the pedals and all the associated bolts and hardware needed to install. Don't need the pedal box as I understand they are the same. Thanks!
  24. Quick question, if you don't mind me asking, how much did the wheels cost to make? They look good and its something unique and what are the dimensions? Thanks!
  25. What they did under the bonnet ruins it for me; that finish on the metal components in that gold colour rather than a yellow zinc makes it look like someone let loose with a can of gold paint. Nice restore except for that!
