  2. It might of fried out. I have an extra one here if you need it. OH are you hazzards working? Mine didnt work for at least 15 yrs. And I finallly fixed them.
  3. Hey bud. I just had the same prob with the same lights you are. I checked my fuses and they look good. But still nothing worked. I had to no sh!t pull each one out and and re-insert them and they all worked. Also check the wires going into you hazzard switch. I had one that the soddering was busted on and that was a prob too. I had to crimp them 2gether to get my dash light to work. good luck
  4. I pulled my 5 speed from a 79 zx 2x2 and installed it in my 81 zxt. Drive shaft length was the only differance, oh and speedo plug. Man It was a bitch to find a used one in good shape. LOL
  5. Ok, Ive asked b4 about this problem and a few people gave me sum ideas. Tried them all and it worked 4 a bit. Am now almost over my budget and need a no Shizzle diagnosis!!! On start the car run's good. Its when i start driving. When in 2nd gear at 3000 rpms the car shudders bad. In 3rd it shudders at 4000 rpm. and i loose power unless i shift and give it gas. There are a few times while in idle ill rev up the eng and between 3-4000 rpm and it will shudder and ill hear a backfire from both the intake (NEW MAF) and exhaust. I've done a complete tune up!! Is there any connections I need to check? Also....dum question but, where exactly is the MAF located. LOL Thanx a lot!!
  6. I have an 81 zxt which was an auto. I put a 5 spped in it and was wondering if i need to swap out the ecu? If i do which one do i need to use 82, 83?? thanx
  7. I converted my 81 zxt from auto to manual....do i need to swap the ecu? and if i do do i need to use an 82 or 83 ecu? Thanx
  8. Oh yea, well i got pissed off at my 81 zxt and kicked it real hard. Almost broke my big toe!!! Jus then it transformed into an autobot and kicked me back!!
  9. Hows it goin everyone. I recently pulled my dash out to repair it. After re-installing it i found that my blinkers, clock, boost gauge, orange background lights, tail lights and side running lights wont work!! Im not an electrican by any means but I do know how to check fuses. I checked the fuse box in the car and all the fuses are good to go. What else could be the problem? Plz help and thanx!
  10. Hows it going everyone! I own a 81 zxt. it sat for 6 months while i was on deployment, but ran fine b4 that. The day i got back i started it up and it ran fine, but on day 2 it started acting up. When i first start it up it idel's very low and seems like it wants to die. Once i tap on the gas it reves up and idels fine. When i sit there and rev up the motor it hangs at about 2200 rpms and struggles to go up. I have to do this a few times to get it to completely rev up to higher rpm's. The other prob. is while driving, when i give it gas and am at a higher rpm like 4000 it starts to shudder and looses power. Ive changed a few things and im stuck. I called Power freaks nissan in portland OR. and they said its my mass air flow sensor. The said it was that when i told them that a backfire noise came from it when ever i reved it up when i was under the hood. PLZ help!!!!! I love my Z and have poured a lot of cash into it. Im to the point where im might have to get rid of it or put it on hold for a while. Thanx
  11. Hi, new to the community here! Still learning about my 81 280 zxt. As for you question if you mean you transmission, i beleive you can. I used a 79 5 speed from a n/a car and it worked. I just had to find a manual pedal assembly and all the lines. Also the drive shaft from the auto wont work. I had to order a new one. Ill try to get you the info on the drive shaft since i had to have a shop finish the job due to my deployment cycle.
