  1. Be sure to take lots of pics!
  2. A friend has an L24 with a softball sized hole in the block with a rod halfway out... They had the motor running like that!
  3. Sex. I love SC300s, and that certainly is a sharp one. Keep it!
  4. The main thing is it goes back and seals up under the radiator, so ALL incoming air goes through the radiator. I like the idea. You could cut grooves into it and not tighten it down super tight so if you bump a curb or something it can slide back a little and not break your air dam. If that doesn't make sense, let me know I'll try and explain it better or make a picture.
  5. Another benefit is the common part availability, including upgrades. Unlike with a Nissan L6, you wont have to hunt down a specific head, you can buy off the shelf units that flow great. From what I understand, the stock supercharger unit off the GTPs and that Buick are sub $100 at a junkyard =] Any plans for the motor? I can think of an easy way to solve your header dilemma... Front mount turbo!
  6. They sell rubber window stripping type stuff at hardware stores pretty cheap, that should provide decent insulation and be quite cost effective. Do you have a piece of fiberglass you can use as a test? Contacting the manufacturer would probably work too. Sounds like a good deal on those brakes. Get to it!
  7. I'd pay the extra $25 bucks for a real one, cooling system is something I wouldn't trust to eBay. I don't know if it'll keep you cool, but one thing you could do to assist with that is make a cover that goes from the bottom of the front bumper to about the front of the engine. I dunno if Zs have them stock, but Supras do and when they fall off it makes a 10*+ difference under the hood.
  8. Rear looks like a 350Z, front kinda looks like an R34. Overall not bad looking, same criticism as everyone else.
  9. Nah, I think they're more of a Moe.
  10. Btw guys, you have to click on the aged tires video. (I'm assuming you didn't mean the baby tossing video)
  11. I'll take some for sure next time I'm out that way. Last time I was fighting mosquitoes and talking about/crawling in/under the car.
  12. Ah, family lives in Athens and Arab (both around Huntsville)
  13. What part of Alabama do you live in? I have family down there I visit once or twice a year, might be able to swing out and lend a hand sometime
  14. I think most people just buy aluminum ones off of eBay. Get dimensions, measure Z, go from there.
  15. It's a real Fairlady Z. 73, RHD, still has a JDM plate on the front. The guy also had a 300hp rally 240Z and a beautiful, sub 100k one owner 72 240Z, a 30k mile 200SX, every Fairlady from 61-Z, and a couple Triumphs and a beautiful E30 and an old English Ford in an ENOURMOUS garage he just built for them. Back in the woods he had the Z, some more English Fords, a Studebaker truck, an L24 complete with 3" diameter hole with rod sticking through the block (he said they got it running like that, then noticed the oil everywhere, and yanked the block out. This was in the rally car, not the Fairlady) and of course the Fairlady. It's some sweet tealish bright green color, I'd actually like to repaint the car that color when/if I get it done. Tony, you have a PM coming.
  16. RP or German Castrol when I can find it, MT90 for the gears and LSD (this is in my Supra, no Z yet).
  17. Wouldn't it be a hoot if it was just a lifter out of adjustment or something? haha
  18. Yeah, I'd been up for 27 hours when I posted this LOL Worst case scenario I strip the good and sell the rust (oops I mean frame) to the scrapper or on eBay.
  19. Hey, two outta three isn't bad! lol
  20. Barn find FTW! Local has a 73, body is seriously rusty but surprisingly felt pretty solid. Floor pans felt okay as well, but there are random spots all over the body where the paint is literally exploding off the car due to rust. The motor ran very well when it was parked, haven't tried to fire it up recently. (I know the man's sons, and he is a close friend of my boss. He's a stand up guy and I absolutely take his word at face value, so I'm assuming the motor is just fine.) Interior is pretty far gone, seats surprisingly looked good, as did the factory floor mats! Woot woot! Anyway, he's asking for $250, and he'll deliver it. I've always gone after rare and challenging things, and after the mechanical terror that was my Supra when I bought it, I believe I'm ready to attack body work. The car does have significant rust, but I'm fairly undetered. What do you guys think?
  21. Yup, and it never sucks any less than the first one. If the radiator is in good condition, buy it and try it. If it doesn't work, you can eBay it for what you paid for it easily.
  22. I can't help, but get this thing done already, jeez.
