  1. Nice photo's, hehe I got a carbon fiber pool stick sitting in the closet somewhere! Hmmm, gotta go dig that baby out.
  2. hehe, did something like that back in school, much more controled enviroment though. Now lets put some BB's in that bottle and maybe some metal shavings!
  3. One thing I will try is putting a fuel pressure gauge on the car, then wait for this problem to show up again. Someone suggested that the vacume line for the pressure regulator could be leaking and cause pressure build up in the fuel line????
  4. I'm having a strange problem with my 83 zx NA. Over the past couple months while driving I will hear the fuel pump start whining, just a little then get louder till the engine will cough and stall out. If I let the engine cool down it will drive fine for awhile. At first this only happened during a long highway drive after about 1 hour the car would show these symptoms. Recently this same thing has happened during in town heavy traffic driving (Hot days). The Injectors are new, The fuel filter is new, The fuel pump is 1 year old, the fuel rail has been pulled and cleaned, the tank dropped and checked for gunk, the sending unit pulled and the screen checked for blockage. Any Ideas??
  5. Funny that this has been brought up. My 83 NA is starting to blow smoke, I know I need to redo the rings and Valve seals but the fumes in the car are getting worse each week it seems. I know now that the weather has turned cooler my car seems to run rich most of the time. I think my Cold start and thermotime might be bad, I'm also thinking I may need to replace the 02 sensor. but keep up the ideas, I need to do something before I pass out going down the road
  6. LOL, Whats a P98 head?? Will this even hold pressure for that much HP?
  7. Here's another of the car, Not sure if its the exact same body panels though,
  8. http://www.twminduction.com/ThrottleBody/ThrottleBody-FR.html *2002-0139/45 *2002-0139/48 Nissan (Datsun) L28 6-cylinder engines. Kit has six separate throttles. Available March 2004.
  9. Yes Megasquirt is laptop tuneable through out the RPM range. It is a stand alone ECU that will replace your stock unit.
  10. Well, I got her to agree with $900 so I think I'll take it. Don't know what I'll put it in yet, I may have my 300zx sold. Hmmm I do have a 92 Geo Tracker sitting out back hehe, now that would be crazy!
  11. the speakers are 6" in the dash, If I remember correctly, I think there is room for larger speakers "oval" but you would have to drill new holes in the dash frame to screw down the speaker.
  12. I might could get her down to $900 or so.
  13. includes flattop pistons, crank, rods (already installed). the parts are not forged though. My understanding is that this "010" block is 6% nickel which makes it a bit heaver than norm also would make it stronger than the normal block.
  14. Well, I am in the middle of a divorce and one of the items that my wife has is a SBC "010" block, bored 30 over. the heads have already been ported and polished, includes a fairly radical cam, radiator, and a few other misc items. All I would need is carbs, engine mounts, and a few other things. I've got a 86 300zx NA thats now blowing smoke and in order to replace rings and seals the engine would need to be pulled. SO.... Im thinking why not just replace the engine with this SBC and have a really Kick A$$ Z.. Now the bad part, The wife bought the block and heads some time back and had all the work done, now she wants to sell me the engine for $1200.00 So What do you guys think???
  15. BAH! Aux your just jealous cause your not a JSR member!
  16. HOLY Sheit Batman! I've been looking at buying a 1500 to 1700sq ft for 130,00 to 150,000 MAX...
  17. I've been looking for a place like this for my project car. I don't have a garage to work in, So my tools get stored in a spare room and I have to drag them all out when I want to work on my car. $300 would be a bit expensive since I have most the tools I need. Sounds like a good venture.
  18. I feel for you Auxilary! I deal with a lot of the same crap here!
  19. Got mine the other day Good issue,
  20. Yes I will, Hmm, NM is closer to Cali then Florida, How did I get my mag first Oh well, Its always fun to be the first on the block with the cool mag!
  21. The other part I have been pondering is how did they machine the aluminum parts to fit over the ends of the carbon fiber, the larger pic shows what looks like a lip where the throttle body would bolt up to. if so, what they do? Form the runners and ends then slip the aluminum parts on then create the lip with the carbon fiber?
  22. Found my answer, they use a "lost core molding process" hmmm, anybody up for building a carbon fiber intake?
  23. I got the latest copy of Turbo mag last night, one of the ads is for a Carbon Fiber intake manifold. Looked interesting, but Im trying to figure out how they molded it? http://www.advancedinductionresearch.com
  24. LOL, Im not the family mechanic but I am the family Computer geek. My brother will call me from his job with some network problem their company is having, Wants me to fix it over the phone. Every time Im at my parents house its, Hey while your hear can I show you something my computer is doing? I don't get that many calls though so its no where near as bad as being the family mechanic.
