Did that. Did that too. I've been a member for a year and a half and have 65 or more posts. Still can't post to the classifieds section. I know, in my little info block over <----- there, it says 23 posts, but when I go to my profile, it says:

Might be a timing thing. I tried editing a few minutes after the first post, but no one had posted behind me so I dunno.. No big deal, I *never* make mistakes so I'm not worried about editing! Still annoyed with the "watched" threads being all wonky though.
-
And apparently either somehow I screwed up (the horror!) or the Edit function doesn't work properly since it posted a new post instead of changing the previous post. And there's no way to delete a post to fix my screw up?

"Down low" I consider anything below FL180. Besides that, I plead the Fifth. Y'all can't prove anything....tailwinds, yeah, strong tailwinds.. I've never done 121 ops, though I interviewed for some regionals years ago before deciding to go with the Pilatus job. The airline lifestyle doesn't interest me nearly as much, going to the same 20 or so airports all year long, and doing the same routes every tour. It's hard for ex-airline guys who come over to fly with us to get used to.... we don't know where we're going any given day until the night before, and even then it often changes during the day when an airplane goes down for mx or weather causes a delay in the system. We work 7 days on, and then 7 days off, all year long. So I know my schedule from now until the foreseeable future. Sure, I don't know where I'm going, but I know I'll be "on" that week or "home" that week. The really cake jobs flying the heavy iron are hard to get into, it's very much who you know and being in the right place at the right time. It's a very tough industry to survive in actually, I've been very lucky. I know a lot of guys who are on indefinite furlough from airlines and others who's airlines crumbled underneath them. It's crazy, no other industry is based solely on seniority like the airline industry is. It doesn't matter how experienced you are or what your background is, you could be Neil frickin Armstrong and you'd still start at the bottom when going to a new company. *whew* I think i might've gotten into a little rant there...

I also am *very* disappointed that the new software doesn't support the...well I don't know what to call it, but the old forum, you could hover your mouse over the thread title, and a window would pop up showing the first few lines of the thread. That feature is gone. Sad. Its particularly helpful for the innumerable threads with vague thread titles.

I don't think I've personally ever been to BLI, but we have 55 airplanes and we fly all over the country, Canada, Mexico, Bahamas and parts of the Caribbean. According to FlightAware, the last P180 to visit BLI was one of ours, on the 17th. Proxlamus, it is very quiet inside. Usually people don't believe me when I say that because it's noise signature outside is so unique. Technically it's not even *that* loud outside, it's just a different sound than we're used to so people notice it. 2000 rpm and 5 bladed props beating the exhaust makes it sound like a deranged weedwhacker. I can be sitting in my house, with the windows closed and I'll instantly recognize when a piaggio flies over, even if it's at 8000ft or so. I digress.. yeah, it's quiet inside, passengers love it. We can easily have a conversation without headsets, especially at high altitudes when the wind noise is less. Down low at 260kts indicated it gets "wooshy". The PC12 is an awesome airplane too. For a person with the means, I can think of no better aircraft for flying a family around. We often loaded it up with a whole family, dogs, bags, skis, coolers, ect.. and fly it in and out of small strips, as well as routine flights from the Boston/NYC/BaltoDC area to south Florida. It's not the fastest airplane out there but it has long legs. The Piaggio is better looking though!

I'm having issues with my "watched" threads. All of my old "subscribed" threads are now "watched" which is a pleasant surprise, and I can see a list of them on the bottom right of my "Home" page, but they are all jumbled up in no particular order. There are threads that have new posts mixed in with threads that are 3 months old.

Braap's a pilot? Didn't know that. I'm a corporate (technically Fractional) pilot. Been flying the Piaggio Avanti (in my profile pic) for 3 years. Before that I flew a Pilatus PC-12, and before that I was a flight instructor. Got my private 10 years ago and have since accrued about 4500 hours. All but 20 hours or so in props, hence the username. Here's two of my birds enjoying the morning sun.

Noticed a few other users who are pilots and/or affiliated with aviation in some regard, what's your background? I remember seeing in passing a few members who were airline pilots, but I believe the posts I saw were many moons ago. Thrustnut...that's a sweet looking Epic you have in your profile picture, do you work for them? One of the best looking singles out there, for sure. DtsnLvr, are you a helicopter pilot or mechanic in your duty as a SFC in the Army?

Huh? You can spell "transmission" but not "the" or "heavy"? Anyway, if you end up not using a jack to support the transmission, it might help to have a thick block of wood underneath so it doesn't fall straight down with you under the car.

I just threw up in my mouth a little. I bet that adds a bunch of weight too.

If you've never used a clay bar on your paint before, may I strongly suggest that you consider it. I just did it for the first time and I'm very pleased with the results. You can't tell from a distance, but close up it really takes away the blemishes. I've seen it used on brand new paint before with no visible impurities and it makes the paint smooth as glass (or better!) Just spray on some quick detailer and rub it down with the clay. It takes a little bit of elbow grease but our cars are small enough you could do the whole car in a short amount of time. I took some macro shots before and after to compare. The car was just washed before these pictures were taken. Before: After: and before: and after:

Thanks for adding them to my flickr group too!

Thanks, I was thinking about getting rid of it and putting in the MSA Type I instead but will probably end up keeping it because the paint is unique and it'd be a pain to match. The PO was going to track down the guy who did it back in 1983 to see if he still had the mixture codes.

Lots and lots of very nice cars here, guys. Well done. Just got her a few months ago and haven't done a *thing* to it yet. There's currently 18 inches of snow outside to it's going to be a while before she's back outdoors.

Your ways of spending your TAX RETURN for your Z

If I were you I'd shift the loans to the top of the list and move the rest down a peg. But that's just me. Been there, done that. -
I would put it somewhere in the back of the car, inside. Like maybe stick it to the inside of the hatch glass, or lay it on top of one of the shock towers. The satellite receiver doesn't need to be stuck to the exterior of the vehicle, it just needs a clear view of the sky. Or stick it to the top of the front windshield behind the rear view mirror, or wedge it in the corner of the dash, as much out of sight as you can.

New to the sbc game, Possible Blue pearl?
p-factor replied to 280zex's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
Curious, How can you folks tell what motor mount is used? What specific positioning gives it away? Someone on here told me mine looks to be a hooker/scarab mount also. -
A few weeks ago I was in Boise and spotted a very nice S30 but it looked orange, not yellow. Does anyone know this person? Looked like a really nice car but I didn't get a chance to flag him down.

Odd heater issues on my 74 early 260z
p-factor replied to 7MGFORCE's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
...I thought so!... but I'm new to the Z so I didn't argue. I'm quite sure when I move my levers it is just mechanically opening and closing the baffles. My my initial question for the OP remains, are you sure the fan stops turning completely and not just coming out at the floor? -

Just to clear all the bases, when you slide the lever to "HEAT" you know that it only comes out of the floor registers, right? It wouldn't make any sense at all for the fan to actually stop running, you just might not be able to feel the air moving. I didn't think there's anything related to vacuum lines on a '74, I thought it was purely mechanical movement of the ventilation baffles? Or am I mistaken...
