  1. 84 to 89 300ZX chopper wheel will be find I forgot to Mention
  2. They are not the same, you will have to the base from either a 81 280ZX turbo or a 82 280ZX Turbo, if you look under the base of your Turbo Distributor it should look like a Torx head fitting on a plain 280ZX distributor it has a fitting cut in half, when you get the correct base your Torx like fitting on your Turbo Distributor slide right in that Torx like opening, on my 280ZX Turbo Distributor I also Change the Chopper wheel inside with A chopper wheel from a 84 300ZX what you get is a true #1 cylinder "Home" reference. With the crank angle sensor in the distributor you get 720 degrees of engine rotation for each 360 degree of trigger wheel rotation. This allows for a unique #1 cylinder identifier. The original trigger wheel in the 280zx turbo does not uniquely reference the #1 cylinder. That's why you need to change the wheel. The 81 distributor has no optical sensor built in, which is why they use the crank trigger wheel and pick-up. The 82/83 distributor is a direct drop in replacement
  3. I have to make a correction on the rear spoiler of that Z car, that rear spoiler when looking closer I noticed it is actually the old 3 piece duck tail type spoiler, very popular back in the early 70s they are still available at a price tag of $295.00
  4. The spoiler that you see on that 240z is a ZG-R rear spoiler and you can actually get this spoiler from Zcar Customs are just go to there website @ www.zccjdm.com or there is another seller of the same spoiler and they call it the duck spoiler and it's carbon fiber for a cheaper price @ www.retro-spec.com for $319 vs $595 from Z car customs.
  5. Im using some reaction research rear quarter panel flares, they are good for a 11" to 12" rear wheel
  6. I was just watching criminal minds the episode was extreme aggressor and it was staring a datsun 240z lol for sale, it was a real nice orange z car.
  7. it would be a lot easier to just go and purchase the Zed findings floor boards and tack weld them in place, just make sure that you have a pair of grip pliers to hold the floor boards in place, and you want to try and cut and have shape of the floor boards that you are about to install, don't try and take out to much of the original floor boards, to get an Ideal on how to weld and install the z floor boards you can find video on youtube.
  8. I had sent a email to Zforce productions about the availability of the Bamf flares but i did not receive a reply to my personal email address, and I dont have a contact number to call
  9. here is a photo of the wheel and rear quarter flare that did the coverage over the wheel and it's a 17x11" 6" lip with a 5" backspace
  10. Thanks for the link DevilZ and R26 but I don't think they will be wide enough because I have a 6" lip with a 5" backspace, I like the flares because all I have to do is some trimming at the wheel well and slap the flares on, but i just don't think they will be wide enough, the flares that i used on my other 240z where from reaction research and they fit perfectly but they are the whole quarter panel and i had to mold them in and its a project and I would have to paint the whole rear quarters vs the link that you showed me the flares for $350.00 I will post some photos of the wheel and the previous z that I had them on
  11. Does anyone know whats going on with zforce productions im looking for some real wide flares that will cover my 17x11" wheels and the Bamf flares where the only flares that I knew would probably cover this wide wheel as well as needing some flares for my front 17x9" wheels, I dont care if I have to order them from overseas.
  12. its so weird because i was surfing the web for some new kind of flares for my 73 Datsun 240z when i came across the write up, I was in disbelief at first but it was mentioned to me that there was some gentlemen taking photos of the car including the anchor news cast guy from Foxs news yes i said it fox news the network that has bill o'reilly on it, i will be taking some time in the coming weeks to get in touch with the editor who did the write up and hopefully maybe we can get some more z cars noticed, and by the way the wheels are made by Image wheels they are wheel makers out of great britain. Oz
  13. I was down in Manhattan New York of last year 2011 in July, taking care of some business and i had drove down my 1972 Turbocharged Datsun 240Z that I normally take to a Parking garage on 48 St W in Manhattan but it was not until 8 months later that I realized that the Wall St Journal had actually done a small write up on my car, first and foremost I would like to thank everyone here at HybridZ for all of there Ideals and technical Info, as well as there support for some of my own ideals that most people would have thought was crazy to try, but not HybridZ I always received Encouragement and people here would always say let us know how it comes out and to post your Ideals and projects when they where done, My Datsun 240Z would have never been noticed if it weren't for the support from everyone here at HybridZ.com Here is the link to the small write up that the Wall St Journal did on my Datsun Zcar http://blogs.wsj.com/drivers-seat/2011/07/30/vintage-240z-not-quite-original-but-who-cares/?blog_id=146&post_id=7579
  14. Im about to change my head gasket on my L28ET engine, I noticed that the fel-pro head gasket had about 14 more cooling passage holes then the oem 280zx turbo head gasket, but i keep hearing people say go with the oem, but this could effect the cooling properties of the head and block, is there a particular reason why nissan decided to close up those certain water passage area's on the head gasket hhhhm.
  15. I just installed the delco cs144 alternator and the installation was no problem, but i do have 1 question, do i have to use my old factory sense wire t connection, are can i just bypass that and use the sense thats on my cs144 and wire it to my main fuse block or batt, this is on my 72 240z.
  16. I want to put a air conditioning unit in my fiance 73 240z and i used to have ac in my 72 240z which i removed, so i want to put that unit into the 73 240z but it has the compressor that uses the r12, would i be able to just upgrade the compressor to run off of the r134 or can i just do a flush on the old compressor and be able to use the r134, i have all of the parts from my 72 vents and all.
  17. I cant wait until spring time, thats when you have the z club meets the car shows and etc, hopefully my 72 240zt will be ready to rock & roll yee haa
  18. on my turbocharged 240z i have a map sensor and im using a q45 throttlebody, i think that i may have the vacuum hose on the wrong line coming out of the throttlebody because its hard for me to adjust my fuel and im running real rich with hesitation when i give the car some throttle, what is the best location for that vacuum line coming from the map sensor.
  19. well this is my first attempt at having a direct fire setup using my haltech e11v2, I have some ls2 truck coils which they say has a little more spark then the ls1, but i have opted to go with my bosch hec 715 coils, i was wondering is there other alternatives for using a different module ignitor besides the haltech ecu3 and what is the correct way for me to hookup all 6 of these coils, i have the 83 zx turbo dizzy with a 300zx chopper wheel, but a lot of good thats going to do me if I donot know how to correctly wire it up right, i do have the chopper wheel installed in the 83 zxt distributor, and I really want to have this hooked up in a sequential mode, any and all info on this subject would greatly be appreciated.
  20. Hello chemicalblue i just purchased the haltech e11v2 and i want to do the same thing with my setup, im i able to use the 83 turbo dizzy along with either the ls1 coil packs or the bosch hec715 that i already have, do i just put a plate over the distributor cap since I will not be using the distributor instead i will be using the ls1 coil pack. im really sure since this is my first time actually going full sequential.
  21. I like the way the you have positioned the coil packs on the valve cover, its a great location to set it up for saving space, I would like to know if I would be a able to used the same coil pack setup with my haltech platinum sport 2000 stand alone ecu and if so how would i configure the wiring setup for the coil packs, as for the trigger I would be using a electromotive type of tooth wheel on the crank pulley, any info would greatly be appreciated.
  22. Hello everyone ive been a datsun z lover from the time that I was 20yrs old and i have own about 9 datsun z cars in total, and loved everyone of them, my latest project is a 72 turbocharged datsun 240z.

  23. the engine is a L6 280zxet motor which is now a 2.9l, and thanks for the info I will be having a tech shop called engine management systems in mystic ct do the tuning on the engine, they are well established when it comes to engine tuning, there are so many stand alone ecu's to choose from.
  24. I have a haltech f10x fuel only, but im wondering what would be the best stand alone ecu that I can use on my inline 6 turbocharged z engine, thats all in one, easy to use and dependable, im not to much concerned about the price, as im looking for the best unit to be matched and has a good standing record with nissan engines.
