So this is what I have. Two shafts: both have V07 and V0740 marking on it. In both cranks there is a small "ring" in the flywheel flange probably caused by oil seal (pictures)? The connecting rod journals and main bearing journals look nice and clean. Edit: shipping to US would be about 170usd/crank. Would 600usd/each be reasonable prize shipped? Edit: both have the same markings on them. Uploaded better pics.

Ok. Thanks for the info. Im looking for options how to ms my ignition and injection. This on its own is obviously not the solution (would have been a cheap one). Im thinking of going ms3 with expansion board (induvidual ignition with "smart coil" and sequential ignition. Wideband afr adjustments)... I guess I just have to try and find a turbo dizzy with optical cas or buy a cranck pulley with toothing. Are there any other possibilities? There are unfortunately few 280zx turbo dizzies/toothed cranck wheels in Europe.

Could be a stupid question but: does the key cut need to be in specific (correct) angle for tdc? Or can you program it to ms3?

Found a fix. You can't use android memes. Apparenty they are not hybridz compatible.

Thanks guys! Great books that I must look into.

I have two ld cranks. Im not looking at making a great profit here so is anyone interested? If there is intrest I can post few pics. I also have a ld oil pan in working condition but it's not that pretty (got it really cheap).

I am recieving "there appears to an error with database" -error with my mobile devices. I can't reply to personal messages or post anythin. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

At least in my 1975 280z the efi (injection) +12V wire runs directly from battery postive with it's own fusible link in line with the wire. The wires to the fusible "boxes" are 2x ignition wires, batt wire (from alternator) and head light wires. Others may correct if I am wrong.

Hi Here is a pics of my setup. I can check the fuze sizes per electric circuit if you still need them next time when I visit my garage.

I figured I'd rather borrow this thread than start a new one. I just bought a few "how to" -books so I have some sources for trying to find out answers to the problems that I will most certainly run in to with my Z. Are there any other good Z-books that might be worth looking in to?

I live in Finland and I guess I could get the crank and oil pan about in a week... The condition of the parts is still unknown.

I would have to buy the complete engine and the prize for that would be around 200-300€.... Plus shipping to you. I do not know how much that would be to USA. Im guessing not cheap. So it might be I'll buy one in my own shelf just in case i decide to go that route.

Is anyone interested in LD28 diesel crankshaft? I might be able to aquire few cranks from nissan cedric ld28 (1984-1985) engines. The cranks are in Europe though.

Hi Have you checked the thermotime switch? In my case it caused terrible idle (also the engine died every now and then) and sputter, the mixture being way too rich.

From the album: 280z exterior
Weather finally warms up enough here in Finland to bring the Z out from the garage -

No more droop! Also one of the hinge rollers haf broken in peaces. I fabricated a new one. The door feels firm and shuts beautifully! -

The old pins had worn out quite badly. This caused significant door droop and you needed excessive force to close the door. -

Only assembly needed. -
From the album: 280z work under the hood
Fabricated an adapter from universal temp gauge sensor adapter. Ended up putting the switch on the lower coolant hose. The switch is under the carbon canister for easy access. I also routed a wire from the switch to inside of car for a manual switch (relay ground wire like the thermostatic switch). -

Only about 5cm clearance between the fans and the water pump pulley. The wiring for the fans is under the radiator. -

Installed the fan relay kit next to the maxifuses (where the old fusible links used to be). Routed the wires for the fans under the radiator. Came out fairly clean.
