  1. shifter action was real sloppy driving around town. decide to check out the shifter bushing to see what was going on, previously had broken the shifter bolt and e-clip driving hard, and replaced it with a long bolt and nut, was working so so. went to see what was going on, and decided to shim up the shifter with a washer, felt stiffer, was happy. went to the other room to grab a soda and came back, shifter was stuck. went to check down again, pulled the shifter out, turned it around messed with it, now its ok? tightened the nut down, and boom, broke one of the dog ear looking things off the trans that hold the bolt that goes through the shifter handle, man i stink. now heres my question, can this be welded back together enough to be confident, or do i have to get another trans somewhere? im pretty sure i needed a tranny anyway, it was hard shifting and i did all teh pedal adjustments and bleeding there could be done, last guess is that the rail was binding intrenally somewhere, it was shifting like a muncie four speed with worn out bushings.
  2. a crx with posi rear sideways at 9k, now that would be nice.
  3. that prelude motor is pretty tough, 200hp and 150lbs or something, rev up to like 8500 or something like that? in a prelude they arent all that, but in a civic, man that would be fun, wrong wheels for me though.
  4. if youre going max pain and its going to be a street car, 260 or 280 smog permitting, stronger chassis, a lot came with r200 stock, five speed, fun to drive while you mod it.
  5. the z32 is an awesome car, but too much money for me to shell out. i took em out in the 327, imma get em with the L29.5et soon enough..

Nelly- No1. Gino Augustino- "Import Racing Anthem" James Brown - Payback to me it doesnt have to be uptempo, they just have to be sayin the right thing, when i line up on fellow rice rockets i often change over to the trance music to get in the right mood.
  9. stock turbo manifold will make some good power, unless youre going super duper you wont need much, i would port it out if its off the car, its the best time to of course.
  10. i liked f and f, like all movies, a little out of proportion, but i enjoyed it. especially the part when everyone is standing over dudes eclipse "ok lets see here, he has a t6 dominic, COLD AIR INTAKE, dual stage nitrous, 600cc injectors, and(drum roll) stand alone fuel management" havent see xxx yet want to.
  11. 13 or more is pretty good, when its 12 or 11 i check grounds, if its less i check grounds then check battery and alt. im running a bosch porsche 911 turbo world cup pump, its loud as heck and flows pretty good, i got it cheap though, if i didnt get it cheap i would go hunting some v8 car in the pick and pull for a pump and throw it over the fence, JK
  12. its not easy to do well i know that much, but man can i lay the bondo down. RacerX- where are you?
  13. man you read me like a book! thats exactly what happened, this time around its all nissan inside the cockpit, except for boost gauge, thanx buddy.
  14. ocasionally you see roadsters with those british-olds 215 cid v8s, ford 302/289, ive seen gn motors, no rotarys though. there is a guy that runs autox up here that has a vg30dett in his roadster, keeps blowing up the drivetrain though. i would do a roadster, but the parts are expensive and dont swap over as nicely as the zcars like to, thats my big problem with them, otherwise they are pretty bad ass, theres an sr20 writeup on eric neyerlins site zparts.com, its an extremely well done conversion, looks factory nice.
  15. man i hecka need a shop manual. the dash wiring would be for a 75 280z, could you also see if its the same for 75-78? if not thats cool, thanx a lot.
  16. weird one i know. on my l28et car, i messed up somewhere and didnt hook the tach up correctly, light turns on as usual, but wont read, does anyone know which wire i can cut and feed directly to the coil? its bugging me not having a tachometer. same thing for the water temp, not functional right now, which one actually goes to the sender, i need to bypass a wire and wire them both up directly. thanx guys. btw, both are stock guages.
  17. can we see photos of that? that sounds tough and i know it must be cuz i heard that 11 second car drive and it sounds like its killin time
  18. whatever technique you use, it takes forever, i just got done polishing mine, but i guess if its an NA valve cover it will easier since its already alum color, mine was turbo cover, its factory painted black and i had to blast it twice, then wheel the crap out of it with finer and finer wheels and it still looks just ok to me
  19. man those are completely beautiful, one of these days man one of these days.
  20. 280zxt is the toughest of the early z cars, you probably wont have to do anything at mild modified levels, trans is also pretty tough.you have cv half shafts which are very strong, i doubt you would have breakage problems unless the rubber bushings in your car are damaged. check out RON's post in buy sell trade, he has the z31 ecu and maf upgrade, it is plug and play in your car and you will feel the difference instantly, with exhaust and mild bolt ons about 15hp at wheels difference with different characteristics, intercooler nice at boost above 8lbs. fuel mods not neccesary, maybe fuel pump and better regulator, big exhaust 3" or so all the way back, and a boost gauge maybe. 240sx and tps swap, also pretty easy. i run all of the above mods and a couple more in a s30 body with no smog equipment on a stroker turbo motor with forged pistons, still not running all the way right but im having a ball doing it!
  21. just got back 6am pulled an all nighter with my buddy, did the typical stuff, ate late night buffet like complete savages, played craps and slot machines for a few hours, and of course, walked around the strip to see the hotrods. saw some really nice cars and my eyes were burning from a running rich, won me some money, i was excited. a couple guys really gave me some quality rubber, and after midnite it got pretty cool with the short races and stuff, just sad that i couldnt stay all weekend to watch the 1/8 mile drags at the airport, anyone else attend?
  22. autolites are my plug of choice, they havent failed me yet, ive tried the platnum splitfire and a couple other expensive plugs and they have yet to live as long in my car as those 99 centers.
  23. i swapped out to a cable with that swap, i think its the old school in me.
