a blown power valve makes the idle ultra rich, and you can hear vaccum noise in the primary at idle if its really messed up.

What do you guys think of this Air Compressor?

what a hick. -
just do it already, cheapest racing you can do is bench race, run em already, turbo vs. V8 that should be pretty cool, from what andy posts on his site he runs 11's on the bottle, are you ready to run an 11 scotty? im not trying to get anyone in trouble im interested in hearing what happens though, hey scotty i might need some more help from you in days to come, seems like youre pretty good at making power fairly cheap out of the L motor, which is my next project.

do a search for SOLEX locks and you should come across them. they are expensive, but they work great, and theres no way short of breaking the window to get in my car, they are about 125.00 for three, but they are a bolt in or close to it, maybe a little grinding and adjustment but it shouldnt take you more than an hour to do the first one, and fifteen minutes after the learning curve.

http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/sevenduececlassic/vwp?.dir=/TPI/1972+240z+stuff&.dnm=DSCF0023.jpg&.src=ph&.view=t&.hires= they are from some kind of domestic car, the only way i can tell thta is that the electric motor for adjustment is a motorcraft unit, these seats bolt right into stock seat rails with only some hammering took me twenty minutes, and man these seats are fiveway adjustable power seats, they were in a 1969 el camino we are restoring for our parts truck we put a bench in, i put the drivers side in, powered it, and ive been adjusting the crap out of it, man these seats take soem of the pounding a 240 can do to you when you drive it, they rule, deep plush leather OH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. ok cya.

biggest most places will do is 3" and some places cant go bigger than 2.5 without ordering the pipe, three inch is plenty, and with a big muffler, might be too much.

13.7 on a strong running but old sj327 with camel hump heads, weiand manifold, 600dp, rams horn manifolds, hei, and not a lot else thru a four speed, im either going to go auto next or im going turbo in another z car, time to try something new.

thanx, im looking into it now, cant wait.

hey guys, im in for a way longer commute these days, maybe 50 miles a day, plus at the track this four speed is killing me trying to stay consistent. just dismantled my once daily driver firebird and have me a 700r4 that needs plenty rebuilding, just basic questions i guess, dont really know much to autos besides how to install them and remove them. heres what im looking for: a pretty mean shift kit a higher stall but nothing that makes me half to drive@ 2800 or so not to slip i want to be able to hold gears to any rpm i want, but i dont want it to be full manual, is taht possible? a way so it wont go into overdrive? and what about the electronics, what do i need and what dont i neeed? sorry sound dumb, i am pretty dumb when it comes to autos. four speed shocks are killing me, it seems like all the work ive done with the car is about breakage caused by clutch dumps, plus im tired of shifting, getting lazy i guess. any help is great, thanx yall.

went back to the track with the dr's, 225/50/15 slopped over soem turbo wheels and finally got a smile on my face, 13.7@110, still had some problems on my 0-60(cant get it better than 2.2), but i did a lot of tuning and work on the car, last run had no vacum advance, dead plug on #7, way too much timing lucky i didnt blow up, and my favorite-bleeding gas out of the primaries! fixed those issues, bolted up the slicks and let her fly, i picked up 7mph and dropped almost a full second. i got three runs first ran 14.2, 13.9, and on the third i said f##k it im getting better time than this and rocked a mano burnout(other times i just squeeled after driving around the water pit) thats where i got 2.2 0-60 with power shifts all the way down the track, bad news, on the way home i noticed a whistling noise from the diff around 65mph, drove it home and drained the diff, very very chunky.... i guess its been on its way out, ive been three gears banging em stupid rough, its about time. drag racing is serious fun, and ive learned what rocks on the street doesnt necessarily mean that much if you cant get it down the track right. breaking the diff is the final straw too, im dropping the four speed soon and installing a packed to death shift kitted 700r4 with a nice stall and one of those b&m shifters on top, im too savage to run a stick anymore
-
i would take that mount out asap since your car is a stick, ive torn the xmember and ripped a mustache bar in half with a solid mount, and i hvae about 250hp tops with a 327/m21, i went with a stock datsun mount and havent had any problems with it, but thats just me, and i do drive my cars pretty tough.
-
two legger isnt very hard to do with stock diff, whip a couple figure 8s now jumbo, or maybe some real tight doughnuts and right turns.
-
i gotta hear more about them as well, HEY JUMBO< can you swing a couple tight doughnuts for me please?

4L60E Transmission Mount - Tailhousing Question
fl327 replied to a topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
the mount is only 12.99 at kragen, but it is pretty crappy rubber -
i heard somewhere that the stock z shaft bolts were tapered? snapped three at once somehow, and last time i went and did xmember install and what not i went grade8 with nylock but no locktite, im gonna try to run a grade 8 bolt with no thread where mr.D specified. im out of school for the summer, thats the reason im never on the forum, no more papers to type and read the forum in between paragraphs. mr. Lone, thats why you dont pop an r180-youre not trying hard enough buddy, im convinced an r200 can take a lot of pain, you got a six speed wheres the 4.11 yazzitrakshun @? im gonna be plenty busy over next month or so, in my garage and in my bosses garage, next time most of you will see again you will be able hear what im listening too plenty far away...too far..... fo speed baby, fo speed
-
the only thing that makes them dr's is the key "X's"
-
wish i could afford one of those six speeds, i think thats the only trans that would live behind the way i drive sometimes. god i used to absolutely love powershifting and clutchless, ive not been doing that, will be getting car ready for increased daily driving, starter solenoid is a good thing, even when my car is hot it takes just one instant longer to start, and i have the summit style one. anyways youre doing good by not dogging the car out until you got the r200 in, hey if it aint broke, break it
-
hey getting ready to give it another go at the track, need to straighten a few things out before i get out there though. are you guys using stock datsun driveshaft bolts out there, i am not and i found that two of them were loose last night, havent tightened them yet i just let the red dog relax. also, i do notice that after running the car hard for a while the r200 will leak a little bit, is that normal?? i think i read from mr. Lone that his diff "sweats" a little after running it hard, im planning a partial teardown of drivetrain to get some vibration out of it, and wondering what you guys have come up with for driveshaft bolts. also wondering what r200 about to blow up signs are, im probably being a hypochondriac about this but i swear its a little noisier back there, thanx in advance guys, holla.
-
got me some dr's im goin back to the track dangit.
-
just a tad faster than the first conversion in the jtr book.
-
i dont drive mines nearly as tough as i used to, but i often drive 10mph above speed limits, but i try to keep the secondariies closed when im not going full tilt except in residential or any 15-25mph zone, i will lay down the rubber at the drop of a hat, and i have perfected the art of doughnuts with the stock r200, you gotta charge it and do em in second gear..... once im done with my summer stuff im let the rubber fly and perfect my track launch technique. these cars are fantastic.
