yeah im not used to turbo driving at all, i raced him like i had my 8 still, i could definitely do better out the gate and im shifting way too early, this motor was built to spin 7k and im not using that, im driving it like a NA and stock L motor. Thats ok im not gonna really dog on it for a while now.
-
mua hahahahhahahahahahhahhahahaha
-
block that egr off please, unless you have smog issues in your side of town.
-
for 700.00 its definitely worth it. not only do you get motor trans harness ecu, you get the rear disk calipers, and most any other system you can bolt on, and extra bolts for all the parts, also, its real easy on the 280s since they come with efi already.
-
hey you dont need to change the harnes completely, you just need 280zxt harness, the wiring is just switched over on maf sensor, computer is a plug in once modified.
-
photos real soon, still making pretty.

just finished installing 300zxt ecu and maf, porsche 911 bov, washed her, and man car is feeling real healthy, driving around town making the whoosh noise (im still feeling this car out, i dont know how to drive it very well yet) and a 5.0 pulls up next to me, and starts reving on me (mustve heard the bov, or that lovely turbo whine) i spool up to 10hg and start lurching at the light, light goes i do the double step and launched even with him (horrible launch on my part, laggy) boost hits and i start pulling, at the end of third im a car and a half up on him and next time we pull up to the light, he's cant believe what just happened, and asks me "what is that" for the first time in a long time, i told him "straight six" and i was telling the truth!!! cant wait for an intercooler! new car is 1-0!!!

where are you located, im that black 2xx z in the sunset with that crazy boost.

drivability is great,it is a least 15hp to the wheels instantly with a way crazier wot feeling to it, and idle is better. you must run an air cleaner like a k and n and do not dare to remove the screens, since it does not clean itself, also i would say you should clean that air cleaner way more often. i dont know about most of the sensore, but i have noticed a peculiar thing, some times the cars run good w/o o2 connected and some dont run so good. mine runs very well w/o .2 and has problems with o/2 connected with idling, but that is the weirdest thing. good luck with that swap, if you need the ecu let me know.

i havent remapped it really, i learned from a good source how to rework the motherboard to run with a z31 maf on an l28et, its a delicate process, but the results are instantly noticeable.

took turbo car for a spin, man this car is nuts, motor is pretty built up, running a stock turbo and no intercooler right now, z31 afm crapped on me swapped back to zxt for now until i can hit the wrecking yards, also limited to about 8lbs. man this car drives like no L series car i ever been in before, man the motor doesnt even come on the cam until 3500 and pulls like a bad boy until almost 7k!!!! its just plain out ridiculous! not like my v8z fl327-everytime i hit the gas i would get the wot and be gone, this car i have now is a freakin volcano! the whoosh factor is great, this thing right now will give fl327 a real good run until third or so on the street, on the freeway fl327 doesnt stand a chance! from 20hg to 0-its doing 90mph not even worrying about nothing, then punch it to 10lbs, its doing 130 or more without a worry! im hooked, this is with a stock t3 thats smoking a little bit too! gonna work on the maf and ecu this week to make em even more punk rock, and going for the ic install shortly, this thing rocks!!!
-
i have remapped ecus.
-
that conversion is fairly straight forward, i can remap that z31 ecu for a reasonable price to work with the l28et in an s30 or s130. for the mas air sensor, you reverse the pin connection, and ground one of the pins to chassis, at least 15hp gain instantly and a good foundation to build power out of.
-
i will so buy one if this becomes available.
-
man i like boost, i dont even care if this car is slow, as long as i can make a whoosh sound in the process, i dont think ill be slow for long though, whoosh

auction cop cars are usually ok as far as the motor goes, the trans is always questionable, my buddy bought a caprice classic and almost like clockwork at 100k (they get retired at 90k orso) trans mission went out, which i think is because they roll hard in od all the time, runs good now though, i mean he got the car for 1800 and put about 1000 into it, and he drives it every day. the good thing about the cop cars is that they get fully maintained at 10k intervals regardless or wear, with oil at 2500 intervals.

Lone, that is what I am a gonna do, thanx for posting that.

a ricer in denial is a ricer nonetheless

run one of the nissan trans behind it, dont think the t5 is worth the trouble myself.

yeah i never really read that one i sold you, already had an older additon and the one you got has maybe five new pages, with more ads. HEY LADIES!
-
my foe foe make sho all yo kids dont growing. yeah scoop on that turbo quick, for a 100.00 you cant lose if it works good, plus you can use it as a core later to upsize.

hey im almost done with this car ready to start breaking parts, just wondering what kind of jump in hp and tq these mods would do. 1. replace t3 with a t3/t4 with internal wastegate 2. install NPR intercooler with 2.25 piping 3. better downpipe 4. install bosch turbo porsche fuel pump 5. install aeromotive rising rate fuel pres. regulator 6. MSD 6btm with retard feature if i swap turbos, will i have enough fuel with the stock injectors and the upgraded pump to run right? if i go bigger injectors, will they work right, from what i understand i might have to piggyback the ecu to change injector pulse because as of now i wouldnt be able to make full use of the bigger injectors because i would be able to mess with the characteristics of them because i dont have a programmable system? here is what im running with current intercoolerless L29.5et with ported p90 head with a 3 angle valve job JE 8-1 dished pistons oversized hks headgasket 240sx60mm tb extruded intake stock t3 300zx AFM and ECU 3" mandrel exhaust to a delta flow 3" flowmaster motor has paperwork from builder and owner that show 225hp @5600 as my baseline. the sale of FL 327 for topdollar (gotta scream out loud ) is enabling me to put some money into this combo for some good turbo power i hope. my goal is to equal the performance of my 327 four speed powered 240 but drive like a freakin civic, that was the thing with my beast, she was a fulltime beast no matter what, im going for a doctor jeckyl mister hyde beast this time around, thanx turbo pros for any input you may have for me-holla.

if thats longs with the myron motor, that car is capable of way better than that, just gotta practice, that car has some firepower, but you gotta be able to put it down by learning how to get it down, mess wit it, im sure that car is faster than that.
-
i quit reading hotrod, i think that if you can find an issue that is exactly ten years older than the current one, it will have almost the same articles. its a great mag though. yeah i read that thing about the 280zx and thought that it was lame that they were bagging on the car when yes it was a GM trans that blew as the weak link thank you.

man people are crazy, but thats cool. we take a great car and make it this ridiculously bad ass machine, but you gotta remember why people like the car , it handles like a rat wearing sneakers when you fresh up the stock suspension and do some very simple tweaks to it, it will respond very well to new parts, that retain stock serviciibilty. people go nuts and go with trick control arms and crazy this and that, but has the stock suspension failed to impress you? is that it? are you ready to drop the whole front off youre car and work maybe a year or more to get this done. now if youre into extreme autox or drag and need some trick stuff to outdo the opposition, theres no limit to what you can in terms of modifying the z to get it to do what you like, thats another reason why people love these cars, its very accepting of such modifications, but at the heart of it, the z is a great handling car and the suspension can be made to handle extremely well for about 1000.00 worth of parts and some time on your back, just depends on what you want out of your z car.
