  1. RB series engines came from Nissan Skylines.. they are known as virtually indestructable engines, because they were built so strongly, and they are one of the most techonologically advanced Japanese engines, which has lead to numerous wins in races, and can handle up to 1000HP.
  2. man.. are you doing an SR swap or RB swap? You can not use the AWD tranny from the RB26DETT, only the RWD tranny from an RB25DET. Please use the SEARCH button to find all of your information or look down about 5 threads to see your answer. I highly doubt that if you don't have the patience to search or look around, you will not be to successfull in this swap and finding the right parts for the right price.
  3. Tip number one : SEARCH... this topic has been covered many times. Tip number two : This is the RB series engine discussion, not SR series. Tip number three: Explain what Z you have... 240Z? 260Z? 280Z? 280ZX? 300ZX? (1st gen? 2nd gen?) 350Z?
  4. well.. not alot of people have SR20DET's in their S30 chassis... and i'm sure someone has one.. somewhere... but automatic's would kick ass with SR20DET's.. since they hold boost during shifts, and they shift faster... only problem is jumping off the line

  6. Simple... you can get an VG30DETT or parts for it virtually anywhere in America fairly cheap, and with Nissan service shops around you very knowledgable with these engines. The ease and availability for parts, repairs and access and aftermarket items for an VG30DETT is much cheaper and better in the U.S. Also the VG30DETT is LEGAL in the U.S. and the RB26DETT is not legal. They can both handle 1000hp+ and can be modded very easily. up to you ....
  7. a V6TT does not exist... unless its an V6 engine with Twin Turbo's which would mean its an VG30ETT or VG30DETT. http://www.freshalloy.com/site/features/tech/engines/home.shtml and JSPEC or JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) is basically an engine under Japanese ratings and modification. These ususally differ due to differences in emissions in the U.S. and Japan as well as horsepower ratings... example> the new WRX STi's in Japan are about 350HP stock and in America it's only 300HP stock.
  8. good luck, I know a guy who spent nearly $12,000 to put in his VG30ET engine into his 280Z... due to the customization to get the engine mounted properly, he had to move the steering column around, cut the firewall to put the engine back further.. alot of stuff. good luck
  9. just get it professionally done... I have installed 4 headunits on 4 different cars, and my 280Z was unattemptable for me. To many wires, too many chances for mistakes. Lets the professional's do it.. You may also have to re-wire your speakers or get harness' for them and make a custom mounting bracket and holder, so your pioneer won't come straight out when a theif grabs it, just in case... so you make it so tricky they don't have enough time and bail out.

  11. SR20DETT's don't exist.... there is an SR20DET....... but no one makes, manufactures, builds or has ever accomplished an Twin Turbo SR20DE....

  17. Well.... 1991-1994 nissan made the B13 chassis with an NX2000, SE-R and Infiniti G20. in 1995-1999 nissan made the B14 chassis with the 200SX (Sentra) SE-R with an SR20DE as well. So basically your statement is right... but just about the 200sx... se-r had an SR20DE.... but an 200sx... is just an GA16DE... but in other countries.... S13/S14/Pulsar/BlueBird and GTiR

  20. what kinda Sentra? Cuz if you know what year it is... and the model.. it would be sweet I'm all into the SR20DET powered Sentra's... If you can you should find out if it was an BlueBird... GTiR.... or Avenir engine Gotta love Sentra's I got one
  21. Well... I have searched the site and not alot of info on this. I will hopefully order a used SR20DET engine from an S13 180SX. But before I order it I have a few questions... Does anyone know or have any info on the ability to put in this type of engine into an 280Zx? Will the motor mounts line up ok? If not... would any other motor mounts help the engine go in.... like the z31 mounts for an Rb series engine? How would the speedometer and tachometer be calibrated? Does that mean that i would have to get an cluster from an 240sx or 180sx and modify it to fit in the 280Zx? Will the transmission bolt onto the chassis ok? Of course... what about the driveshaft..... would that match up with the SR20DET? and last of all..... do you think this will require major modification where I would have to take it to a shop..... or would I be able to take this on by my self and some friends?
