  1. ok i got my car back on the road this week and was wondering how much boost i can run. Here are my mods:

    - big azz front mount intercooler

    - Mega squirt

    - BOV

    - 60mm 240sx throttle body

    - 3inch exaust

    - ARP head studs

the turbo is stock and im running the 81 stock turbo motor with stock turbo injectors its hitting about 7psi right now just wondering what i can safely run with the stock fuel system i was thinking about 10psi maybe 12 anyone do higher with the stock stuff?

Not to be an ass.. but I dont know what your BOV, 3 in exhaust and throttle body have anything to do with how much boost you want to run.

In order for your engine to perform and run without blowing up you need 3 things.. fuel and air and proper spark.

You can run 25psi on your stock bottom end with proper tuning.. enough fuel and if your turbo can produce enough boost.

If your going to be running the stock fuel injectors.. your very limited to how much boost you can safely run.

The turbocharger you have will also vary how much boost you have available.

  2. I went ahead and pulled my clutch and pressure plate today.

I can't believe how loose those rivets are!!

My manufacture date is 08-16-05 .. part number N013.. manufacture number is 0069969.

I made a video for everyone to watch and take a look at how much it moves.

I called ACT and they want me to send in my clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing. Although it's out of warranty they will determine if there is something they can do.

They said it should be about 2 weeks before I ship it to them and have it back in my hands. ANOTHER delay on this damn transmission swap. ugh

  3. your wife loves you..

she doesn't want to see you hurt or in pain.

just like you wouldn't want your daughter doing anything to hurt herself.. your wife doesn't want anything bad to happen to you.

Being in a family requires sacrifices and responsible decisions.

  4. Well...

I think you can have a very nice Grand Touring style suspension setup for a lot less then $5,000. What I would recommend:

    1. Tokico HTS shocks - they are a step above the Illuminas in both valving and adjustability. ($700)

    2. Shortened struts ($500)

    3. Stock rubber isolators on top with ovaled mounting holes in the strut tower.

    4. Tokico HP springs from the 280Z (linear 185F/200R) cut to the desired ride height ($168)

    5. Modern Motorsports rear LCAs (for the easy adjustability) ($595)

    6. Stock front LCAs with relocated inner pivot on crossmember and offset poly bushings. ($50)

    7. ST 1" front and 3/4" rear ARBs. ($300)

    8. Poly bushings all around except for the TC rod and steering coupler. New rubber for those parts. ($200)

    9. New Nissan ball joints and tie rod ends ($300).

Parts and some labor: $2,500. That leave the rest for R&R, cleanup, etc.

John are you recommending that we can cut Tokico springs? Would it be safe to say that we can cut linear springs over progressive?

I have Arizona Z car's heavy duty springs.. could I cut a coil or two off in the rear to lower the car *safely*?

I have a damn set of coil overs.. I need to install them already lol

EDIT > all I had to do was click the search tool on the top to find the answer.. sorry!

  5. I've been doing research into using my stock mechanical speedometer with my Z32 transmission..

a company by the name of Abbott Enterprises manufactures a product called Cable-X!

    http://www.atrol.com/cablex.htm

The Cable X is the easy, cost-efficient way to operate your stock mechanical speedometer with a transmission equipped with vehicle speed sensor. The Cable X is basically an universal adapter that will pick up the electronic speedometer signal and will operate the cable driven speedometer to the corresponding speed. It's a snap to install with only three wires - hot, ground and signal. No costly installation of drive gears or long messy cables to deal with.

The cost for personal use is $310. Im not sure what the pricing is for a shop though.

My goal was to find a cheaper alternative to buying a new electronic speedo.. but it seems this is the same price.

    Just a heads up
