70 240z garage special
chrismiller5157 replied to chrismiller5157's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
Haha "movable state" haha my sub frame is dropped it is a real shell... no tollers so I'm on the same page as you. Car ie in freakishly good shape! Guy how owned it walked out on his wife of 31 years do she decided 5 months later to sell it. Thsts were I fell in. Will post pics tommarow late when I'm off work. Really think the best first step is to get the dub take and tires back on it...then sending it to be dipped,blasted, & staged for primer. -
After patients and searching for quite some time now I finally found a 70 240 local to my area that hasn't been complety Eatin alive by the climate. The car was for sell and the owner parted it out So all that is missing is finders, hatch, motor, and interior. Fine by be since being into the early Z's for this long (6-7 years) I have a big collection of S30 parts laying around in the closets of the guests bedroom of my parents house and the garage. As yall may know Power Fab Autos has helped me a lot with my 73 240z, in witch I may have them do some welding work for be, but 80% of the work will be my attempt. Swapping my running an featured (on this site) 83 280zxt platform into this early S30. Seems it won't cast me much of anything to get it running other then nick-naks and the custom fuel cell, and camper plates witch is were PFA will come in for the welding. Looking to bring this Z back from the dead with tastefull mods and upgrading to the power,suspension. Want to keep its original curves as much as possible. I pick it up tommarow (moday 18th) so ill post pics.

Rare/Interesting/cool Parts Thread

Good point nismozxt.....almost makes me wonder if he moded it.... -
The vinal will be here this week. But my dad wants my 280zxt for a LS2 & T56 project. The car at this point is still getting the matte white v, but he may decide to paint it.(he has the equipment and now how to do him self) On a side not I just picked up a 70 240z shell (missing motor,finders, dash, & hatch) so I may order or use the 3M on this new S30. Swapping the L28et platform from my 280zxt (motor,MS2,gauges, ignition & fuel system) over to this early 240z. Car is 90% rust from and been staged primed, & and I'm on a budget so a vinal wrap may be in the cards.

Yeah I love Colorado its a change from Houston,tx. I'm going to drive it tonight. And no changong head gaskets on a L series isn't hard or difficult is you know what your doing when marking your timing. It's time consuming to day the least about a days job on a factory s130 turbo mine is moded so only takes me about 3 hours total to change a head. Also done it over 15 time easy... -
the new 240z, added to my z pack.

Been having a wired issue with burning out mu walbro 255 Fuel pumps. We have been running down leads as to why the Continued to burn up. After my 3rd one in 2 months I stared to really Get consured with the product and using walbro to feed my motor For my 500whp goal. As you all know I have a custom 10 gallon duel cell, well turns out that my autometer gas guage stopped registering my fuel level, in witch drew me to Checking the internals of the cell, and that's were I found the foam bricks had sifted and moved all to one side is the cell. I'm stated to position them back to the proper areas and noticed the one of the bricks was no longer the correct. Shaped as in it was desolving. That's when I checked my old burned up pumps in let's and found they were completely clogged with black foam. I have pulled all is the foam and flushed my fuel systems completely. Nor using foam ever again. Foam is from the company RJS.....just a heads up. -

No I don't have room to store it.... I'm moving to Denver,CO and school is taking all my money and time and the zxr will have to wait sadly. I drove my zxt home (60 miles) and its not run right. I'm running a straight down pipe and can here a little taping pope sound in the exhaust note, that's not consistent, but but accrues every 5-6 Secounds. I'm assuming its compression. I'm not leaking fluid from the headgasket, but I'm going to pull the head Tuesday and replace it anyways with a 2 nismo(HKS) HG. I'll be sending the head to the machine shop to check for worping and damage. Alto think my walbro 255 fuel pump is going out. -
Aww man I'm dieing to see your S130! Hope to see everyone there, great food and people don't miss out!

Well the summer is coming and its starting to get hot here in Sugarland,TX. I have a 240z T31 stroker and a 280zx turbo. the 240z is gutted completly witch means no A/C and in Houston heat....you need A/C or your a fool. So the 240z is going to be put up at power fab or my garage for the next few mounths, and my 280zx turbo has been sitting for the past 5 mounths while i was driving the 240. I did a tune up on my 280zx, changed the head gasket {felpo headgasket with cooper spray} and all the others, plugs, oil, trany/diff fluid..blah blah. I have several mods to the car including APR head studs and rod bolts. But durnin the tune up i FORGOT to put coolent in the raidiator after flushing it. I drove the car about 2 miles to the shell station to fill her up for the dyno so we could do some tuning, and noticed that my PROSPORT water temp guage read 270 Degrees! It was a O %#@& moment. The car seems to be fine i got it back to the shop and put water in the radi and there seems that the headgasket is fine there are no leaks at all and it is driving and the spolling just fine. Have any of all had any luck with a L series getting this hot?

Miss type. 3800rpm 3500rpm

Im using a stroked 3.1 with a Holset hx-35. A went from a 2.8 using the exact same turbo {not that i like the hx35 but for now its what im running}. The stroker from day one pulls harder over hte 2.8. At 14PSI on the 2.8 i would be at 2800RPM. At 14PSI on the 3.1 Im at 2500RPM. The stroker feels stronger down low, and more responsive over the 2.8. Im not here to one up the 2.8L when all is said and done im sure the 2.8 can produce the same amount of power as the 3.1 {when talking turbo applications} the only real question to me is how long will it hold up to 20PSI or more? I have run 18PSI at mine on the dyno and will be pushing 20-24PSI this upcoming fall, goal is 500whp or more.{using a Borg Warner}

Watched this video for the first time and noticed the girl that sings (talks is more like it) drives a clean and sexy 240Z ..... Any idea who the owner is I'm assuming she isn't?
