  2. I went with the 3.1 stroker becuase i had the money to fund the motor & wanted somthing diffrent from just a build l28et. The goal is for the motor to be pushed past 450whp/wtq.

  4. I have been looking for a GOOD condition BLACK 280zx dash {complete}. I dont want all the guages, i wont use them. i just want the dash and frame thats it. If you dont want to pull all the guages thats fine to i just dont want to pay for something im not going to use. I have cash in hand. Must post pics. Im in Sugarland,TX zip-77406 CASH in hand.
  5. I have a 73 240z and the factory motor has been swaped for a 3.1 stroker. Question is, how do i tell if i have foraged rods or not? I was told that not ALL 240z engines have foraged rods, is this true or false? If this has been talk on before please link me to this page, i can do the rest. Thanks.
  6. We dynoed it today to tune with the new 750cc injectors, so i grabed a short video. ill try to find out how to get it up here.
  7. Dam, hate shops like this. Just dont send it to any shop. Do the work your self when you have the time it will get done in time and you wont be trashing your money. OR Get to know a local shop that you can have 110% confadence in and try them out. P.S. Dont ever give a shop 100% down, pay as you go.
  8. Yes i agree, i better looking intake mani is a must. PowerFab is make a custom intake mani for me....in time you will see it swap out.
  9. Well i have had my 280zxt for about a year now. Just sold my 83 280zx {the gold colored zx in the photo}. my 83 280zxt is a side project/DD, ill list a few mods. Car is tuned at 12PSI made 210whp/251wtq - Auto trans. 181,000 miles factory block & rebuilt head. Stock t3 turbo MS II ecu 440cc injectors n42 intake 240sx TB PowerFab FMIC Tial BOV MSD ignition walbro 255 fuel pump Greedy profec b boost controller prosport boost,oil,water guages Aromotive manual fuel reg AEM wide band PowerFab down pipe {no exhaust} HKS metal headgasket much much more.
  10. I have to say go with the L28, much easyer to install over the VG. VG is heavyer also, and i would think you wouldnt want the extra weight in the front if your going autocross or road race your 240.
  11. The 240 is running GREAT, drove it to get the fenders rolled, so i put about 22 miles on it total so far. PowerFab put it on the dyno today and it made right over 300 at 8PSI with the holset hx-35. Tune is rich and we are just taking a easy on the 3.1 to brake it in nice safe. We got the 750cc injectors in today so those will be installed along with a bigger intercooler. Still waiting on clutch, but that wont really matter untill we are making over 400whp/tq. Will post up dyno sheet once i get it emailed to me.

  13. Ok so the stoker is installed. We are STILL waiting ont the injectors and clutch we will have to go back in and change the clutch & injectors when we start making really power with it. But progress has been made, we are going to start it tommarow for the first time and tune it for a brake in safty tune. i didnt get to take many pictures and we havnt installed the oil cooler or filter yet. Build sheet for my 3.1 Stroker. will be using a holset at first just to see what it will do, then we will most likly use a 35r or a new borg when they come out. 3.1 stroker turbo swap. One Datsun Long Block consisting of: F54 Block smoothed internals P90 Head with full port job Block torque plate bored to 87.5 mm Block o-ringed with stainless wire Clevitte 77 bearings Maxima Diesel Crank Forged Venolia pistons, coated with TFE skirts and Thermal Barrier tops 240Z connecting rods, polished, shot peened, and small ends bushed for floating pins Rotating assembly balanced Custom Elgin Turbo cam, 290/.505, 266/.490, 112degree lobe center Ferrea severe duty stainless steel valves, intakes stock size, exhausts 1mm over Solid copper head gasket ARP head studs ARP main studs ARP 9mm rod bolts Arizona Z-Car Aluminum baffled oil pan Diesel maxima water pump High capacity (280ZXT auto) oil pump
  15. I may post the engine build sometime....may. I dont know about the clutch yet because its still on order and hasnt made it to me. Did you have this clutch your self?
  16. Ok update. Waiting on ACT clutch nx2-xtg4, InjectorDynamics 750cc injectors, canton oil filter and setrab oil cooler. other then waiting on parts everything is going smooth with the swap.

  18. All is going well with the upgrade build. Ordering my tires - Front/ BFgoodrich g-Force sport Rear/ Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial Got the 3.1 preped and ready. Going to be pulling the 2.8 out this weekend then Droping the 3.1 stroker in, and started for the first time. Then put on the dyno and tuned using the holset for now.
