im looking for a instrument cluster that gose to 130mp. will pay cash for local pick up {Houston,Texas} or paypals.

negative ghost rider. i dont want a V8.....i have a 1989 chevy suberban with some V8 in it...but i dont want to do that, i want to see what i can do with this L28 motor an i like to keep it some what orig-inal......well thats an understatment i guess. i just get the rings done an piston's if i need them, an run 14ish psi with the hy35 an work on keepin it right an CCCCOOOOOLLLL i do live in houston an it getttts HOT.

well let me be specific. he wants 400.00 for the enige as is. im guying the turbo an turbo exhast mainfold either way. {for more money} I can get a other TRUE turbo motor but they all have to be rebuild from ground up....everything has to be done to them i have 2 sitting in my shed out back. {P90 head/F54} but they have been sitting for a long time an had problems to start with...i was told it would be about 3,000.00 for a full rebuild...why would i do that when u could buy a 2JZ or RB motor for a 1,000 of so more?

yes its with the turbo an turbo exhast mainfold. along with a loootttt more basicaly ready to drop in my 280 an go. exept the ring issue is whats stoping me. no we havnt done a compression test, i still have to go pick it up in the first place, the guy was just saying that the rings need to be looked at. oil rings he think becuase he has been driving in for the past year an just took the engine an trany out a few weeks ago an the compression seemed fine he said but i will duble check. i think 200.00 is fare. but no more then that.

thanks for the reply. ya i need for him to come down to like 200.00 bucks if not less, they mechanic is telling me i need about 800.00 bucks worth of parts an work if not more.

i plan on bying a L28 turbo motor. its has a hy35 turbo on it. {if this matter's to the question at hand} the guy said he thinks the rings are going out. he wants 400.00 for the motor as is. the mechanic said that the pistons are probly no good if the rings are going out or already have. is this worth 400.00 in its condition. please comment!! thanks. You have a lot of work to strip all the crome off.......the window's are the hardest part i would send it to a glass shop if i was you........you will most likly if i remmber right from doing mine, will have to take the windshield out an back hatch window out to get the crome off....an will need to order the window clips {ebay/ or the Z source}. Nice looking S130 overall....an agree the smoked out headlight lens would look sick.

my wifes 280zx, is at the shop for the same reson right now. they said that my engine mount was broke so that's why my head studes broke in the first place. so make sure if yours i broken to replace it. so it took about 3 days of spraying it with penitrent an playing with the bolts to get the 1st one out {all others came out no problem helps that we dont drive our 280's in the rain}. but if all falls just get the head takin off an do a valve job. but make sure that u arnt getting riped of on labor charges.......500.00 in labor JUST to get the old exhast mainfold off....an other 150.00 to put the new one on..... chris M. 1981 280zx {gt35r turbo build underway} 1983 280zx {wifes}

sound's like a plan. i cant do white the head light's always look funny when the car is white to me..... i have 2 extra BLACK door panel's that arnt messed up at all they look new. i am thinking of selling them if you want them. i took my tan door panels an had them raped in black suade. im in Richmond,TX. {outside Houston about 20 Miles}.

i want to get change the RPM gauge for my gt35r turbo build an was woundering if anyone has this gauge an what they think of it?? also will it fit in the stock housing of the speed'o box? is there somthing deffrent that i can do that would be easyer.....an still look good...i dont want guages all over my dash....that looks tacky:icon13:

dude starfishdata, those tail lights look like they want be hard to put on after all, with the cut out's an what not.....will look pretty nice probly:icon42:. i like the color a lot also, an what you did with the stock bumpers looks great..are you changing the interior to black? it looks to be tan an brown...

ok thanks for the info. well im buying the headers used {$75.00}, i was told that thay are long headers an they were from MSA.....iv sent them to get coated.

forgot to say. they are going to resurface the heads if thats the same as saying deck the heads??? if not what dose that mean?

I have sent my wife's 280zx non turbo to the shop an they are putting a MSA head's, an MSA exhast an some other stuff also {trany, power steering, oil pan, rear brake's, MSA cam} they said that the last bolt is probly going to brake {the gasket it leaking on the last port next to the fire wall an the motor mounts are broken they say the last one almost always brake's} an they will have to pull the head off to get the bolt out, an that i should just do a valve job while the head is out. they want $225.00 to send it to the machine shop. so the QUESTION is, is this a good price? thank's.
