Dude i learned the hard way.....Search. and nothing is easy about engine swaps...you will need a engine crane for starters. Engine wieghts about 400-500 pounds.

Ya i order some from MSA when they were on sale. They make a huge difference and that are really good quality. But i also replaced my 'Cold start, plugs, and im useing a pallnet fuel rail so the hose was to small an busted 2 of them. so im useing bigger hose and use JB weld an clams so they wouldnt leak.

I was told that i will need to replace my stock fan in my S130, when i put the turbo motor an HY35 turbo in it. I have the same problem as you with running the 2.5 IC piping, so a friend said that a fan out of the 1990-1996 buick lesabre Electric fan would fit and have a good CFM and i live in Texas so you should be just fine with that. Also i remmber him telling me that the Ford Taurus fan would fit but i don't know i have yet to buy my electric fan so let me know what you come up with. Nice find!! Turbo 280zx "5 speed". seems like all the turbo's were 80% auto, T-top. Looks like a lot of work but will be worth ever penny when done. Good luck.

Will my 81 280zx non turbo engine have flat top pistons or dished? Used surch and couldnt find anything.

Ya i didnt think about it....And yes it did, just had oil from the turbo oil pan leaking all over the back end {not a to much an no big deal} an could see that who ever was driving behind me will be mad when thay see little oil spots all over the car........ an if i remmber right it was a silver mercedes C63 AMG that stayed behind me for about 20 Miles.....

I got the motor today...will be bolting the motor to the engine stand and taking the head off, then doing the rings. I was told to watch out for the "spring" that's between the the timing chain. Will take pictures for fun an posting.

Not worth all the time it would take to do somthing like that....just send your stock dash to be rebuilt....would spend the same amount of money in the end.

Ya i got the rods off. lol funny story, i took to hud off the car an layed in down. Then took both the hinges off with the rodes still on an tossed it into the grass an they came flying off...haha it works. so the itercooler will fit, but like zxtman was say the pipping is going to be fun. i got the pipping that came with the intercooler an it was custom made to fit a "280z" so its a little off but not by much. So i will have to cut some bigger holes an just custom fit it. Im going to post pictures. P.S. I am not taking my A/C out. And im putting a electric fan in so that should get me some more room.

so this an old post, but i just got a set of 300zx seats {drivers is power an its heavy but im making in a slider} an want to put them in my 1981 280zx. did you ever get them in or did you go with somthing else? i just started to look an get an idea of what will have to be done to fit them in an it looks like ill have to make custom rails. P.S. You can PM if you want, what ever works.

i got a big intercooler a few weeks ago an all the piping {custom to fit}. but there's a problem, the hing's an rods that are on the botom of the inside of the hood are hitting the top of the intercooler so i have herd of people taking the rod's off an an "the hing's" to solve this problem. but im looking at it an dont see how i can do this? i pulled on the rodes an could see that the would move but were vary vary tight should i pull those off? is there a post of the question im asking? i looked but couldn't find any. i hope im explaning this to were yall can understand what im asking. i just got a set of 300zx seats. the driver seat is power....an its VARY HEAVY were the passenger seat is not an is not heavy...has anyone taken the motors off there driver seat an just put sliders on?? any anything simaler an if so do you have an pointers or pics for me to go by?? umm well the drive seat is power....but the passenger seat in not...so the passenger seat is a LOT lighter then the driver seat an i want to get ride of the power seat stuff an just put sliders on it.....i dont feel like wiring up the stuff to make it work in my 280zx.

I am about to get a USED set of 1994 300zx {TWIN TURBO} cloth saets. they are a gray/black, an have no ripes or damage to them they look an feel perfect. they are also electric. i plan on putting them in my 280zx so what do yall thing they are worth. he said he want's 150.00 cach for both.
