  1. Interesting question, i have supra injectors on my car but not sure what year car they are off of. They are actualy 420cc injectors. Please post a picture of it, ill tell you right away if it will work. If its what i have its a VERY easy swap. But you CANT use these things with stock fuel managment!! Evan
  2. quote: Originally posted by BLKMGK: Crane Hi6? Check your timing after install. The Ford guys found that it did strange things to their initial timing after install. I'd double check it to be sure. Hey guys, the crane unit worked like a champ for me!! No problems at all I would reccomend it.
  3. With the utmost respect intended: Im sure fast frog worked hard to get his car to look like it does. I kinda doubt hes going to throw out his paint code etc.... Dont get me wrong its a really good compliment, but its one of those personal things. There was some tool telling me he would copy my car to the T and his would be better. What a dick. Anyways, i changed the hue on all the pics of my car you guys have ever seen. Therefore he really cant copy MY car, just the pictures. (dude this is NOT in reference to you, im just venting!!!!) Evan PS as far as color goes, head out to the paint shop and start looking at paint chips. Man once you find your color and fall in love with it, Its yours!
  4. Okay let me play now hehe.... Ideal-Z, heres my thought on the subject. You say you are going to run aftermarket FI correct? well.. if thats the case feel free to build a 10 to one motor. You can easily run pump gas with that setup and the adjustablility. Second, if you dont plan to keep the motor in the car for along time i wouldnt reccomend buying custom pistons. Just get standard flattops. No sense wasting your money! Okay are you dead set on the P90? I would really reccomend the N42. The head gives a good CR and flows pretty darn well. Whereas the P90 is great for turbo because of its being setup for not detonating. To put it in a nutshell. IF you really want a v8, dont put too much money into your NA L motor. Just doestn make sense and you will end up eating quite a bit of that money if you want to sell the motor later on. If i were to do another NA motor, i would not go stroker. Norm has taught me alot, and one of those pieces of knowledge is that the stroker isnt the key to HP, but is the key to your wallet! I guess thats all i have to add, i am pretty darn knowledgeable on the NA motors. I spent ALOT of time and money on my last motor looking for high HP numbers. Learn from my mistakes!!!!! Good luck dude!- Evan PS im sure you can pick up an N42 for less than you can sell that P90 for!!!
  5. Whoops, i knew i should have stopped in earlier. Let me try to answer your questions! First, konigs are made well and i was impressed with the quality for the price. There are no other off the shelf rims that truely fit except centerline etc.. Dont worry bout the supra drivers, yeah its a wanna be wheel on a 67k car!!! LOL. But hell, my zcar seemed to work just fine with the konigs. Brian and pete; Thanks for the compliments on my car. Great to hear. Pete, my car is some color... not sure what. Just when i figure it out the light changes and the color changes. It varies from the colors in the pics to almost a viper blue. Jeroimo, there were a few reasons i went with the adapters. Reason one, i could then use any import wheel i could find. Two, it kept geometry legit when i didnt have coilovers. Maybe that offset will fit with that rim etc.. but one think i dont like is cars that have the rims tucked too far into the wheelwell. Just my taste though. I do know you can run 17x7 +20mm rims with no adapters. I have heard of this working okay. Maybe a test fit is in order? Oh yeah, and get this. The day i was buying rims, i almost bought a set of enkie RPO1s. Then i saw the monsoon, i liked the rim but thought it would look like ass on the car. Damn was i wrong! The new owner of the rims loves em! The monsoons just happened to be on sale too! OH YEAH, if you go to discount tire stores, they will, in most cases, have rims that are on sale. You can get killer deals on wheels. they sold me the rims on my truck too. Hope i got everyone answers, have a merry christmas er whatever everyone!- Evan
  6. Been done had the monsoons on my ride. Brian whos your friend who has them on thier car? Im curious, never seen another z with those rims because they dont fit without wheel adapters or coilovers. Head over to http://zdriver.com/article2.htm and check out my car. Yes they are heavy, but ive dealt with heavier rims. Hence my switch to OZ monte carlos. Evan
  7. Morgan, heres the answer youve been lookin for... the T5 driveshaft is too long for a first generation zcar. If you loosen the trans and get the driveshaft on the diff, it will work. But really needs to be shortened about an inch. I will be running mine too long until spring. I dont drive my car in the midwest winters, so it can wait! Evan PS... bryan littles page shows this install in his car. The crossmember for the T5 WONT line up either. I dont know bryans website add. but its under links on zcar.com!
  8. You guys mind if I chime in here? First, unless you are making it so you DONT need an adapter or spacer, why switch to five lug? Seems kinda unnesicary to me. Second, SCCA, you dont have to replace the adapters every time you want to change rims. If you adapt to a 4x100 every wheel you will find will fit onto the thing. I didnt have to get a new set but my rims were worth more money to a z person WITH the adapters. I have had really good luck with my adapters and my car. Honestly, i hate to say it but mike i would almost advise against an adapters setup on your car. The problem is you are putting BIG tires on your ride. I have no fear of breaking an adapter on my car because i only have 245 touchin the ground in all four corners. I know ross runs adapters with 5 lug on his ride, talk to him. I know the adapters didnt effect handing or anything of that sort. Price is 200 for a full set with studs, if you throw a couple more pennies at him im sure he can press in ARP studs. WHich i am having done asap. Im sorry if my post seems contradictory but if mike blows apart an adapter i dont want that on my consience.. personally i would run them but thats my ass im risking. Not someone elses. IF anyone needs to know anything or has questions feel free to drop me an email or post on the forum. Please start a new thread though and put my name in the title, that way i wont miss it! Good luck- Evan
  9. I have indeed heard of wolf ems system. I have a buddy that was looking into enging managment systems and considered it. He was told by a couple customers of WOLF systems that thier customer service sucked, and they never did get the car to run right. One dude even swapped out to SDS and had no problems from then on. You dont like the look of the SDS box? Um then why dontcha just take the thing off the end of the cable when your done tuning? Stick it in the glove box. I personally love SDS and wouldnt trade it for anything in its price range! Simple, yet very effective! Evan
  10. Jeez mike, sure seems like your on the road to a business here! Honestly, carbon fiber doesnt really appeal to me. This is mainly because the price is just way too high for me. I would be interested in a more basic fiberglass dash etc... but im sure your not interested in doing that. BUT if i were to buy something carbon fiber it would most likely be a rear spoiler. Nothing monsterous, just something subtle and nice. Havent found something that i really like yet Good luck dude- Evan
  11. Mike, i can tell you that im watching very closely what you are doing. These parts seem like a great way to set my car up. I have coilovers and am low enough where camber is a tad goofy. Since my bridgestone RE730s arent cheap id like to keep everything within spec. I have access to a hunter alignment shop during the school year for free. (I taught an auto class). Keep everyone updated guy! Thanks- Evan
  12. Hey guys im an idiot and forgot the URL for ya! http://home1.gte.net/buetow/index.html Under evans car. PS.. Morgan and SCCA, that was my point. First generation zcar rims are lug centric. Not hubcentric. So in essence, there is no centerbore too match. I can prove this, my buddy had problems because his lugs werent the perfect diamter on his appliance wheels. PSS>>. morgan dont take this as a flame, if im wrong please right me!
  13. Hey guys whatsup> you have answered all of my questions. YOU RULE. Mike, sorry it was like 2 am wheni posted that last thing on wheel adapters and i forgot the link! DUH. Ill put it over here and put it under the other thread too! Mike i changed lug patterns. Thats why i got different adapters. I also changed wheel sizes etc and wanted a perfect fit. I already prepped and removed the perch, the washer i was referring too was in fact the 3/4 inch hole one. Have you guys ever experienced rattling with your coilovers? Springs rattling against the tube or whatever? Thanks gentleman- Evan PS almost forgot the site again, here goes! http://home1.gte.net/buetow/index.html
  14. Hey guys, my coilover conversion is going smooth as silk. Except for one thing! I have the 240z kit and the fronts include a thick washer. Where does it go? Also, what do i do with the orings that are taped to the insides of the sleeves. Forgive me, but am i supposed to use the old metal upper plate that the spring used to rest on with the new upper spring mount? Help guys, im doing reassembly tomorrow!!! Thanks all- Evan PS got that ESSEX fuel pump in too!
  15. Sorry for not responding sooner!! I totally forgot i posted on this whole deal. First, SCCA, the adapters are 200 bucks a set. Morgan, centerbore doesnt make a diff on our zcars. They are lug centric wheels FYI. Danno, thanks for the compliment. I am running adapters with the OZ rims. They are of diff thickness. I dont even happen to remember what they will be (not on car yet). Im completeing my coilover conversion tomorrow! All the rims i have run with adapters are of a 40mm offset. Check out this URL to my buddy ron and my new website. It has some pics. The best pic is of the wheel adapter bolted up with no rim on it. You can really see what it is. Thanks all- Evan PS feel free to email me if you guys have questions. I dont come over here too much. Im pretty busy with school and my z right now!
  16. Hey Drax, what do you mean by play in thier sandbox? You spent alot of time at zcar.com and it is still a good site. You have to remember that it is more of a newbie style site. I almost swapped over to tripple webbers looking for that last 1hp but i got smart and did a turbo conversion. Some people might be happy with the stroker, some not. To each his own. Sorry if this seems flamish, i dont mean it that way. These are two sites, with two completely different mindframes! Evan
  17. Well, im not much of a V8 man but i must say excellent job on the car. Thats some great detail in the engine compartment! The body is gorgeous, i dont think ive seen the body kit on a dark colored car. Great work- Evan
  18. Hey ross, i do think an airbox behind the headlights is a good idea. Just think about the mounting position of the oil cooler on a zxt! Pass side, kinda hidden in the front of the wheelwell. Evan PS i thought of putting an oil cooler in my wheel well, and still mighty. Corky bells maximun boost shows ICs in wheelwells with a thick mesh screen over them to keep rocks from turning them into swiss cheese!
  19. The second link danno posted on zdriver.com is of my car and my adapters. If anyone wants to know anything about them let me know. Evan PS i sold those rims, and now have 17x8 OZ monte carlos.
  20. Thanks guys, i found out how to do it, let me share. There are things called tube nuts, and tube sleeves. The way they work is you slide on the tube nut, then slide on the tube sleeve. You then flare the tubing, slide the nut and sleeve up too the flare and VIOLA a flared an fitting. They are avalible thorugh jegs and summit. My buddy did this and has had no problems at all. You guys are correct though, and i do belive that there is a special flare tool that i can borrow from my speed shop if i kiss some serious butt. Thanks- Evan
  21. Perhaps a smashed LEX in a junkyard? Hmm could be. I think im going to start my search for an LSD in the near future. If you guys find out anything cool or important be sure to post!! Thanks guys- Evan
  22. Okay guys, this has gotten so long i feel the need to throw my .02 in! Euro, where are you located first off.... My cars coming together really fast as of right now. My adapters are done for my rims, coilovers are in the box and my machine work will be done on my motor by thanksgiving. That gives me 9 days to work myself like a slave to get as much done as possible (im really excited!) Okay but im in the same turbo motor boat as you euro. BUT i have a 240, so i had to swap gastanks. Install a fuel pump, and .5 inch hard lines up to the engine compartment. Thank god thats done, what a pain! Seems to me like we are on the same track here dude as far as parts and goals go. Everyone is right on with the information! And i have to reccomend the corky bell book once again! Its great. My turbo is a tad undersized, id like to swap exhaust housings for something larger but this turbo will do fine for now! I have an article over on zdriver.com with details on my parts list. You will need most of that stuff. Thats a list i composed after talking with all the zgods on the net I wish you best of luck man! Have fun- Evan
  23. Hey guys, i have .5 aluminum hard line runnig to the front fo my car. I need to flare it so i can use the tube nuts. What do i flare this with? can i do a single flare? double flare? I have heard that the flare on an AN fitting isnt the same as a normal auto parts store flaring tool.... HELLLLLPPPP Thanks guys- Evan

  25. Do not use the P90A head, i have heard from several sources that the lifters are NLA from nissan. They also run about 15 each if i remember correctly. Do the math, thats way too much dough to risk on leaky lifters. Do yourself a favor and find a p90. I did and im glad i did, no worried or headaches. I have seen an A head converted to non hydraulic lifters before, not sure how it was done but this topic may be better posted on zcar.com. I know of more turbo guys over there that have had experience with the l28. Zon- Evan
