  1. I have the new red-top in my S10 and i cannot reccomend this battery highly enough. It proved itself on saturday. I puked my alternator on the highway two hours away from home. That battery got my 96 s10 home without a problem, granted no music and no headlights sucks. Thank god it was during the day! IT has top AND side posts, killer for a clean wiring job, especially i you have a stereo system. Evan PS... my Z will have one as soon as my new die hard craps out on me!

  3. I knew they would fit sans adapter. Alot of people did that setup that ive talked too. Good work though, im glad they fit for you. Thanks for the compliment on my car, it is greatly apreciated. Did I happen to mention that i paid 50 bucks each for my oz? closeout overstock wierd size rim type affair. Hope i never taco one, or i will be sporting monsoons again! LOL Thanks again- Evan
  4. Yes that is the regulator. You wont need it depending on what you do. I threw mine in the circular file because i am using a GM alternator on my car. I just ran new wiring. Not down with the stock stuff, too small for my tastes. That your meathook? lol Evan
  5. Dude, if you pass that deal up i will stomp around and pout! Sounds like a great deal. Id almost rather pick that up then spend more time dicking around with my stupid L motor. This has been such a nightmare. I think its a good deal anyways, how many miles? Evan
  6. I saw that tim, thanks alot. Good info you have provided. I have considered the 240 rod but i have ONE minor problem. My L28t rods have been pressed with ARP bolts, sized and balanced. I really freaking wish i could get my money back out of them to do 240 rods but money is excessively tight right now. Ill consider it once again though. The side load thing is a major plus for me though. Thanks- Evan PS anyone got rods fer cheap
  7. If i remember correctly shortening the endlinks will make your bar "stiffer" in the rear. May be a good thing. I dunno Evan
  8. Nice work dude, sounds like a good setup. I stuck with HONDUH rims on my car with the OZ monte carlo. I sold the monsoons the second i saw them on another car LOL. Im a weiner like that i guess, i like my new rims though 17 konigs were choice two Evan
  9. Hey guys heres the deal. I have to order another set of pistons from ross. NO biggie, but the problem is if i screw up a parameter is my bag and im SOL. Has anyone ordered custom pistons before????? They want; Stroke bore size (88mm) head CC Deck height (what is this?) rod length and pin diameter Valve diameter head casting number I THINK this is all they need, if you have something to add to this list that I need fill me in! I dont know the answeres to the parameters, if anyone can help that would be so badass of ya. Thanks all!- Evan PS 82zxt motor with stock rods and no milling of head or deck!
  10. Hehe drew, isnt cheap and Fuel injection somewhat of an oxymoron? Just bustin your chops. I really like SDS and price is very reasonable. To each his own- Evan
  11. Hey fast, i dont know if your motor is anything like a nissan but you can most likely run 10.3 on pump fuel. I would be concerned about finding this 110 on a regular basis if my supply dried up or i went out of town.... its just a thought dude. Otherwise i cannot help you, sorry. Evan
  12. Mike, the only concern i would have is that the high tension of the front hood hinge would damage the fiberglass. You could always remove the springs from the hinges to solve that problem. If you look in jc whitney, dont laugh, they have clip hinges. You could check that out jusut for ideas if anything. As far as i know, hood pins at the back of the deck would be your best bet though as far as hold downs go. Or you could always make the clip open like a real hood would, I dunno. Just a thought! Good luck- Evan PS, im wondering if hydraulic cylinders like the ones used to hold a hatch open would do the trick if you could find one capable of holding up that much weight without dropping it on your head when it hits 29 degress outside LOL.
  13. Hi scottie, is that driveshaft custom? it sure is clean if it isnt! I may be missin the boat here, i dunno LOL. Hoop is mighty pretty, ill give you that. I seriously doubt ill snap joints in my L6 turbo though so im not too concerned.... or should I be? Thanks- Evan PS... I sent out an email about the downpipe, I never heard anything so I have not sent payment yet. Paypal is on the way, ill even pad it so it doesnt take a percentage of the money out. Just tell me when!
  14. BUMP??? huh? Anyways, nigel it can be done fairly easily. In theory the turbo should last longer. If i were to have another turbo built i would definiitely water cool the jacket. More piece of mind for me because i dont have one right now but would like one. BUT i also want a ball bearing turbo but i dont see that happening anytime soon! Too much money for me, cant afford it. evan
  15. Lookin good james, i was wondering wtf that thing was. I thought for sure you had a different manifold in the works. The price certainly is right! Are you going to dyno the car before and after the intake swap? I have been considering a different intake sometime this summer but im not convinced of the HP increases, never seen any real info on it. Thanks dude, lookin great!- Evan
  16. Autometer sending unit on mine is leaking. not sure how or why but it leaks when i tested it at 70psi. What a crock. I got it used, looks like i got bent over. Im looking into a ghetto way to fix it now Evan
  17. Hey guys whatsup, i forgot to mention this. More progress on the z. I pressurized my fuel system to go leak hunting last week. I dont have the car here, but need some advice. I tested the fuel pressure at 50psi... my fuel rail leaks (very slowly) I can fix this without much trouble. Here is my dilemma, it takes like 20 seconds for the fuel pressure to hit the 50psi mark on my gauge. Is this too long? Here are a couple causes i have considered if this is abnormal. A) Low battery voltage (dont think this is it, my battery seemed to have alot of juice). Not enough fuel in the tank (I tested it on two gallons of fuel in the stock FI gas tank). C) Could the leaky rail have caused pressure to build too slowly? Alright guys, i want to know what to look for next time i get home and fix this. Any ideas out there? Or is this situation normal? Just for background, i have .5 inch hard line to the engine compartment. SX fuel pump and regulator. Fram fuel fiter (like scotties). Nothing else super special. I could hear the gas going into the tank through the return line which is good. My fuel pump is also mounted level with the output lline on the fuel tank, so its not pulling fuel up hill. Thanks guys!- Evan PS... it was truely a thrill to see the fuel pressure rise with so few problems! I was expecting the thing to be like a sprinkler. *progress is a beautiful thing*
  18. Buy a set from me, i had someone flake on an order i made on them. Email me for more information. Evan
  19. Hey guys heres an update for you. I need to pull the head off to drop in the pistons when they show up. Scottie thanks for the help on this one buddy. let me know what you think- Evan
  20. Thanks scottie! Ill look into that, i never took it apart though. Maybe its missing or something. I guess i can find a replacement if it is. Thanks again- Evan
  21. Scottie and others. I have the fram fuel filter that scottie uses. I pressurized my fuel system this weekend to 50psi and the top bolt that holds the two parts together leaks! Is there a gasket or something that i needed t stop the leakage? Thanks- Evan
  22. FYI, stock studs are 12x1.25 i do belive! Evan
  23. Dude, if you go over to the thread on my new rims i posted pictures of my motor in infancy. If you look real close at the Tstat housing, you can see where i mounted the sensor. Ill get teh better pic posted up for you guys when i get my scanner!! Thanks- Evan [This message has been edited by Evan Purple240zt (edited February 15, 2001).]
