  1. We should be going @ around that time, hopefully everything will be all worked out for better times...
  2. ^^^Hey... How is your project going? When are you going to the track to get some times?
  3. Yes you just need a helmet, I think you dont even need a helmet if your running over 13 flat.
  4. I have installed a 5 point roll cage to go under 11.5 and thought it was going to be alright, Now they asked to get the 5 point harness and a jacket. On the first 11.4 run, my brother got a warning then he went for another one and he got another warning so we left..
  5. Turbohoses, they are located in Livermore, CA.
  6. I have not added anyhing to the car, however it seems to be around the 440 H.P. range...I will have it dynoed again sometime soon.
  7. Hey, Matt: I went with the Textralia clutch, Its holding alot better than the stock LS2 clutch. Justin: The car has 10's in it, If you read my sig. it says Mike runned those times, He is very experienced with LS engines and can run by the ear....We are having problems with our tach so we have to short shift to keep off the rev limiter.. It was nice meeting everyone out there on saturday, it was a nice hot day.. There are a couple of grand national powered Z's on this site, just do a little search on the v6 forum. Thank's!
  8. Went out to Sacramento Raceway this weekend to test out the new clutch... Some pics. the video. (give it time to upload) http://videos.streetfire.net/video/b481209b-5e29-462c-9f50-995001514915.htm
  9. This is a recent project, The GT is owned by a family member...Should be a similar set up as the one in the videos though.
  10. Some of you guys might be interested in this project, The car was sent to a shop in Florida to get a twin turbo upgrade, Should be around 1050 h.p. on pump gas and close to 1200 h.p. on race gas. My brother is taking care of everything being done to the car so he is receiving update pictures of the process...We should get some video sometime this year, I will try to line it up against the LS2 Z if possible. Supercharger and transmission coming off to be replaced by the twins and a high performance clutch.
  11. If you decide to buy the 15 x 8 with a 5'' backspacing, a Hossier quik time pro will be a good tire too, I am running a 26 x 9.5 on stock struts with the eibach lowering springs. They ocationally rub when two ppl are in the car.I have not rolled my fenders though...When running at the track, the Stock LS2 clutch gave up, so tracktion was really good..
  12. Welcome! All the info is there, you just have to search for it. Like in most forums. Drivetrain section has you answer to the Rear end, there are lots of options. For LS1 info your in the right section...you can buy the JCI kit to bolt up the engine...Go to my cardomain, I have lots of process pictures, including most parts needed. Thank's

  15. + one on the crappy chrysler tranny's, when you fix the tranny maybe you'll get a bad diff, two of my friends have the Hemi 1500 crew cab, both have gone to the dealer to replace the diff, one of them has change it twice.both truck's are low miles.

    Should I?

I have removed lots of things on my 1977 280Z, bumpers give you lots of the weight back. My car weighted 2640 without the rollcage.I have no carpet, spare, rear cargo board.

    Should I?

Hi Welcome to HBZ. I belive fitment is an issue with those engine, they are to wide and you would have to work the sidewalls...If it has been done, you can find out by searching a little, use various key words and something will pop up. Cost:well everyone's swap has a different price, this is depending on your abilitie to work on car..you save lots by doing most things yourself, if not it could get expensive. Rear end:Most commun swap is the R200 VLSD from the infinity Q45, search under drivetrain, everything is covered on that one..Some members are running high hp Z's without a problem. Kits:I don't know this one. I have a LS2 Z and drive it to work 3 days a week and on weekends, I have 6k miles in about 6 months, There has been small issues but you can use it as a daily driver. All models from 70 to 78 are good candidates for any swap, If you start with a 240 or 260 make sure you stiff up the frame a little.if you start with a 280 you can get away with a little over 400 whp with just upgrading the regular stuff. Craigslist, local newspaper, ebay are a major source. 280Z's are stronger and heavier than 240Z's... Good luck!
  18. Awww bummer, My car would have to be modified, I'm trying to keep everything stock!!! Let me know when they come out and a price, thanks!!
  19. Looks good, I might be interested in one too!
  20. Congrats! Now I see why you selling the Z...
  21. Hey Justin, The Z looks like a Z now, Its coming together pretty fast... We should be at the track soon, if you are interested in going keep in touch! Sergio R.
  22. your doing the right thing by putting the project aside for a while..I will tell you one thing, Finish it, drive it and then sell it, if you can that is.I bet when you start driving that beast you wont want to drive anything else for a while... Good luck on finding a Job!
