  1. Someone trying to sell me 350 conversion mounts and trans mount with the hood latch conversion kit for $200.00. Good deal? Who sells them and how much brand new?
  2. Mine just came in the mail the other day and I sprayed a small panel to try it out. This was my second time ever spraying paint. It turned out GREAT! This is my second time painting, first time using the Devilbiss Plus. Obviously I am no expert so the credit has to go to the gun. Almost no Orange peel.
  3. Doing lots of body prep on my can and engine bay soon. Lots of ungly wiring in the way. Dont think my turn signal switch even works. Are there any kits to rewire all of my lights, brake, turn, headlight and so on on toggle switches....? Also, Never messed with guages and I plan on a v8 swap. Are there any mechanical guages? tach, speed? So I can avoid the dash wiring also.
  4. I just ordered the Devilbiss plus(GFG-670). I have sprayed lots of primer with my harbor freight gun. There guns are CHEAP and the one I have came with a 1.8 tip which sprays the primer on thick. I have used a Sata before to paint a hood and bumper. Other then that, I havent painted anything. I am painting a friends truck when my new gun comes in and Ill let you know how it turns out(from a beginners point of view).
  5. What would be the point? Ive known of several people who do a 347 stroker rather the finding an old 351w.
  6. What do these cars run on a stock 302? Friend of mine had a 89 Mustang with a 306. Car ran 13.4. With a 75 shot it was near 12.3. That car is about 1,000lbs more then a 280z.
  7. I am getting closer to having my car painted and im entertaining the idea of a luxurious interior. Ive been thinking of going with tan carpet (trans tunnel also) Tan leather 350z seats, and fiberglass the back wheel tunnels and center console but paint them tan. Does anyone have any pictures or links to threads on redone interior? Not looking for stock, something that someone really went out of there way to make nice. Also, Do you know of any pictures or threads for fiberglass center consols?
  8. I am doing a shaved rear on my 280z project and noticed the thin metal has no re-enforcements. It can be bent and shaped by hand. do you guys usually weld some metal behind it or are all of these cars very flemsy like this?

  12. Yes it does have fluid. I just found a 2nd fuse link for ignition I didn't see at first so I will try that. Are there any ways to check the master and slave seperately?
  13. I just picked up a free 79 280zx. It supposedly hasnt been running since 99 but what running when parked. When I got it home I wanted to start with power. I changed the fusible links to a fuse box and now all of the lights work. I turn the key and nothing happens. Whenever you touch the clutch, it pops straight to the floor and stays there. I figured it wouldnt start because the clutch has to be pushed in. Since the clutch is messed up, I figured I would start with that. I looked under the dash for a switch to bypass to get it running but there is no switch. How does the clutch tie in with the key switch on these cars? What is the first thing you would check on a clutch popping all the way to the floor and staying there?
  14. Lowering springs are cheaper for the 280zx. I have 4 shocks coming fro a 280zx next wed. Will these bolt in to my 280z? If not, are there writeups of conversions?
  15. I have seen severl threads before that had people saying that 280's werent worth the extra weight. I was just doing some thinking earlier. 95% of 280z owners take off the big bumpers and go with the lighter ones or no bumpers at all. Almost all of the performance 240z builds use the heavier R200 rear which the 280z already has. Whats the difference after considering these? Ive read the 280 has beefier sub-frames. Wouldnt everyone want this?!?!?!?!
  16. Ive been thinking of molding in some zg flares. Whats the widest tire you can fit on the rear of an S30 without flares? Also, do yall know of any good front valences that would flow into the front flares really good and not look like two seperate pieces?

  18. I dont know a whole lot about differentials yet so bare with me! Would I have to buy a new diff or could I buy the internals only for the LSD and use my diff? Also, where are gears sold and are the R200 rears classified in different types or all R200's are universl for parts?
  19. Im restoring a 1976 280z. Body work will be done in a few weeks and before I paint itm I want to have the entire under side of the car finished. Wouldnt want undercoating to get on the new paint job! Im looking for a bit of infor on the half shaft swaps. Fro my reading, they come from a 300zx. For them to fit, I will need the modern motorsport adapter($225.00 each!!!!) Am I on the right track? If so, is there another option that doesnt involve these $500.00 adapters? Also, What are some good companies to purchase gears, LSD,
  20. Yes I will loop it. That will be the easiest. Curious though, why do you want to take it out if you arent using it? Or do you plan to use the heater?
  21. I suppose there is a line running into the heater core. If I remove the heater core, will I have to block off the inlet hose?
  22. I have a 76 280z. I run it every other day for a few minutes because its not street worthy yet. Today I noticed radiater fluid on the driver floor. I found a black tube under the dash that it was coming from and put a napkin in it(you can see the napkin in the top right). After this, I noticed steam coming from the windshield defrost vents. Why is the coolant coming through the vents? Any ideas?
  23. Doing the body work on my 280z. The space from the door to the front fenders is twice as big of a gap then any other body lines. Is this normal? Its not a huge gap, but bigger then the fender-hood or the back hatch.
